To be 100% honest, I've been leaning more toward the White Sox should be buyers and get the guys like Encarnacion and Rich Hill and try to get a Ramos or trade for a Lucroy and sign Cespedes or something unreasonable. The more I see posts and articles giving sound reason as to why the Sox should sell, I believe I am now part of the group that wants the Sox to sell. The only player that I would hate to see go is Quintana, and a little bit Abreu. Both are hard working guys who go about their elite business in a quiet and humble way. But hearing how much talent the Sox could possibly get in return is very alluring. Maybe the Sox didn't make those trades at the deadline for a reason and actually knew what they were doing...waiting to get a better package in the off season.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 05:05 PM) He was throwing just fine when he left. I'm pretty sure if memory serves he was the most reliable one in that pen in 2016, aside from Jones. No indication of injury at all.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Oct 8, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) In other words he did exactly what he did in his short stay with the Sox. Mark Precisely...the Giants can have him

QUOTE (shysocks @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) I mean first and foremost I just want the Cubs to lose. But I still have some fondness for Conor - unlike Samardzija - so I'd rather see him be the one killing them the most. Jeff Samardzija is so overrated and overpaid. Didn't make it through 3 innings against the cubs...his shortest start ever and his first postseason start.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 09:05 PM) I mean, it's one thing if he's late 30s like LaRoche or Rollins, but Cespedes is literally 30. Is he though?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 07:58 AM) You can add Peavy to that list.. Alot of former sox players on that team. Beckham as well. Was Beckham traded from Atlanta to San Francisco?

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 07:55 AM) He looked very uncomfortable during post-game interview. Probably a bunch of awkward post-game hugs from teammates as well lol Yeah I remember Gillaspie being very quiet, and he always looked depressed. That homerun celebration was the only emotion I've ever seen him show.

http://m.mlb.com/news/article/205084376/gi...wild-card-game/ Who would have thought the Chicago White Sox 2015 starting 3rd baseman would be the one to hit a game winning 3 run bomb to get his team into the playoffs? Flashbacks of 2005 Geoff Blum...

QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) He's far too passive for management. Look at the absurd stuff that has happened out of that club house - no competent manager would have allowed for such sideshows. That's just one gripe. It's beyond time for him to go and it's also beyond time that KW goes with him. I do agree that he should have more control of the players' actions in that clubhouse, and I probably came off like I support him being a manager in that clubhouse. I in all honesty think there needs to be changes, like everyone else, and I do think Robin needs to go, but I don't think he is a horrible ignoramus like most people think he is.

From a CSN Chicago article: http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-white-so...il-after-season Todd Frazier: "I love Robin, love him to death. He's a good manager, for sure." James Shields: "He's one of the better managers I've been around, and I've been around some really good ones...Robin is a good man, a good manager. He's really good with the players, and if he does step down, he's going to be sadly missed for sure." This coming from 2 players who have been in the league for a long time. Robin isn't horrible like most people think he is. Sure, he has made some poor decisions. Who doesn't? No manager is perfect, plus what do you expect from a guy who has never managed in the past? I think one of the most important qualities of a manager (after his ability to actually manage games) is his likeability among players. A manager who isn't likeable creates tension and ruins chemisty in the clubhouse. Robin is the exact opposite of that. He brings players together and keeps a good atmosphere. He isn't as bad as people think. Everyone who knows the man respects him. I haven't heard one gripe about him, ever, EXCEPT from the one group of people who have never had even one conversation with the man...the fanbase.

I wonder if they could make Saladino an Outfielder...stick him in RF and Eaton in CF? Idk, still need good backups though, and he's the best we have.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 18, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) Good baseball discussion going on thus far with Hawk & Stoney. Interesting, informative and enjoyable. Yeah it was like that yesterday too. I like Benetti, but the combo of Hawk and Stone (when Hawk isn't in a depressed mood) is much more enjoyable IMO. -
QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 17, 2016 -> 08:16 AM) I turned the game off, before Tyler's 3RD hit. What kind of single was it? Was it a solid hit? The fact that he has responded to more regular playing time is very encouraging. Unlike many bench players, who become "exposed" with more playing time, he has only gotten better. It shouldn't be surprising that a guy with his baseball acumen would improve with more experience. Last night he was facing a tough right hander and was very solid, once again. It's hard not to really like the guy. If he can produce like this, as a second baseman, he is certainly a starter, in my opinion. He brings good defense, solid contact, a little pop, high baseball acumen, versatility and is very affordable. What's not to like? Seriously, I hope he has more playing time than Lawrie next year.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) They hire a service to clean up after the pups. I used to bring my late dog Maggs. He loved it, especially the parade around the field. He pissed on the tarp. O was so proud, That's awesome lol

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 09:59 PM) They showed a couple bringing out the plastic bags LOL That's hilarious...and gross lol. I would hate to be the guys that clean the park after tonight because you know at least a few of those 1000+ dogs are going to have an "accident" that isn't properly taken care of.

Loving this offensive explosion. Where was this May 10 through Sept. 11?
-
Do they have designated areas for those dogs to do their business? What do they do if it needs to take a piss or something?

I wanna see a pit bull run on the field and start chasing a ball

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) Still a lot of holes Can start with Frazier "set in stone". He's okay, nothing more. No real stud hitters except a good Abreu. Yeah but you really don't need more than one "stud" hitter. Look at the 05 team. Konerko was the stud hitter on that team, Jermaine Dye would be next but idk if he is "stud" worthy. Who would be next? Crede? Iguchi? AJ? They weren't stud hitters either when they were in their prime. Thing is, need Abreu to be Konerko-esque in terms of hitting ALL YEAR, not just in August, September.
