  1. Right now on mlb the show 16, my franchise white sox roster (2018) consists of Adam Eaton, Tim Anderson, Bryce Harper, Jose Abreu, Andrew McCutchen, Eric Hosmer, Adrian Beltre, Victor Martinez, Jose Altuve with a bench of Hunter Pence, Nick Hundley, Odubel Herrera and Juan Uribe. The Sox should try to duplicate this. I'll write to Kenny .
  2. Benetti talking about the Easter bunny...for no reason...that was embarrassing. Almost as embarrassing as that base running blunder by Avisail
  3. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) My biggest fear is Ventura being back next season. Ventura isn't the best manager but he isn't the worst. I mean, you really can't blame him for the team's performance this year.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) Another solid performance from Carlos Rodon. I love Rodon's competitiveness. It is so good to see him finally the fruits of what he is capable of. Good pitchers take time to develop. Soon he will be able to get that 100 plus pitch count into the 8th, 9th innings.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) I'll just go out on a limb and say Anderson is for real.He might hit more HR's then Alexei too. I think he D will also be on par if not better than Alexei . I'm not slighting Alexei in any way either. If he hits some homeruns ALONG with the singles and doubles while keeping that average and on base percentage where it should be, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But I'd rather him not get it into his mind that he needs to hit homeruns in order to help the team win. He's not here because of his pwoer (although I am not denying he has that potential), he is here to hit line drives, get on base, steal bases, and score runs. He is a table setter, not a run producer. I wouldn't mind if he didn't hit more than 8-10 per year.
  6. Narvaez still hitting up at .340 haha. Wow what a nice light in the darkness huh?
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 05:31 PM) I hope Leury hits. He really would be the best bench piece. If Leury proves that he can play at this level, I honestly would have no problem putting Saladino as the primary 2B and having Lawrie DH next year if they can't sign anyone else to DH...and have Leury be the infield utility. Obviously not the first choice of action, but I would like to see Saladino start somewhere. Maybe they can convert him to a RF and have Eaton stay at CF? Just throwing ideas out there.
  8. Heading into next season, the rotation currently looks like Quintana, Sale, Rodon, Shields, TBA (I deliberately put Q first, he should start opening day imo). Okay, so what do you do with Shields? If the front office wants to contend next year, there is no way they keep him. Do what do you do with him? His contract still has him under control for a couple years, and you aren't going to get any value for him. Should they release him and eat his contract? That means they need to find 2 starting pitchers. Maybe Gonzalez gets that 5th starter slot, or maybe 4th depending on who they pick up. Obviously, I think most of us would agree that the rotation should be the least of the off season concerns, but it will be interesting to see who they get to fill in that 5 hole... Because no way in hell is Shields coming back unless they go fill rebuild, which lbh isn't happening.
  9. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Sep 3, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) I'm perfectly fine with going into next season with Omar as the backup catcher but still think they need to sign a starter in the offseason. I'm hoping for Wieters. Would MUCH rather have Ramos

  11. The White Sox are the team to stop the Twins 13 game losing streak. And they will probably be swept. So embarrassing. The twins have 7 hits and 7 runs the sox have 11 hits and 2 runs. Give me a break.
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 09:52 PM) First two guys on base followed by two K's. Most White Sox thing ever. They have 11 hits and TWO runs. I mean come ON. It's the same old story
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 02:19 PM) How has Sale looked today? He's given up a few hits, has had a few double plays turned behind him. Not cy-young caliber, but not bad either. Pretty good so far, no runs given up, that is, until the bullpen comes in to "relieve" him.
  14. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) His ability to play third and second along with Saladino's flexibility you keep both. The White Sox don't have any depth to replace guys as we have seen this year and previous with crappy bench players. This is true...Saladino has been about the only good depth piece that has served the Sox well.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) Or trade Lawrie. I'd trade him for a bullpen arm
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) Thanks for that post and you jinxed that there Verlander as Saladino doubles. Good job ! Hahah I deleted it as soon as that happened. Saladino is helping my "beat the streak" hitting streak as I picked him and Abreu for hits today haha.
  17. I'd take Saladino over Lawrie any day. Next year I would have Lawrie on the bench and Saladino the starting 2b...that's not gonna happen though.
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) I think Frazier enjoys being on the Sox and is a great teammate. It's hard to give up 30 plushomers and approaching 100 RBI's. His BA may be around .215 but his first year in Chicago is still better then Adam Dunn's first year. Dunn turned it around offensively and I think Frazier can up that BA some If Frazier can even hit .270 with the power numbers he currently has, and if Abreu hits the majority of the year like he has been hitting since Aug. 1, then this team would be immensely better if the rest of the team (minus the bullpen) continues to do what it's been doing.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) Sale vs Verlander No Cabreras today. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/771024370726764544 https://twitter.com/tigers/status/770989074752516097 Why in the world is Avila hitting 5th? Oh Robin...
  20. September is going to be a looking month of baseball for the Sox. They are going to get pounded by the division.
  21. http://www.csnchicago.com/video/morneau-we...pable-going-run This is an interview with Morneau and Saladino. Something Morneau said that caught my attention: " I've been on a team where we were 8 games back and made the playoffs, Shields said he was on a team where they were 10 games back on September 1st and they still made it." If the Sox continue to play like they have been against their division in September, and the right teams lose games, then it is possible, but it's a long shot. Sustained success has not exactly been the Sox' forte. I will say this, if they complete an extremely unlikely sweep of Detroit this week (which means they will need a lot of offense with Shields and Raunado pitching), I would seriously consider them a candidate for the 2nd wildcard spot.
