  1. I thought the White Sox have a requirement that everyone on the 40 man be vaccinated? Or am I wrong on that?
  2. I mean, I don't think it's fair to take 2 separate teams and use that as the argument for what success looks like. "44 combined years." Okay, but the Yankees won three straight not relatively that long ago in 1998, 1999, 2000 and then made it in 2001 but lost the championship. Then won it all again a few years later. That is success, and honestly should be what the Sox are aiming for. No matter how farfetched it may seem. When Hahn says "multiple championships", that late 90s early 2000s Yankees team should be the goal. But, the game has changed. You can't just win under that model anymore. So how do you rattle off multiple championships in today's game? I'm not entirely sure of that, but you can't just buy championships like the Yankees used to anymore. In my personal opinion, the fist step needs to be: keep your team healthy. The health of the team should be priority #1. And the Sox were one of the best teams at doing that until Hermy left.
  3. That's some good analysis. Until a team like the Pirates swoops in like the Twins did with Correa and blows everyone out of the water.
  4. I'll just be on the record as saying this rebuild will be a conplete and utter failure, and I think Rick Hahn would agree, if the Sox did not at least win one championship, when really the goal is to build for multiple.
  5. Sure, that's fair. But I figured most of us on here who are probably old enough to remember 2005 would argue that was the best year of any Sox season any of us have experienced, because they won it all. Not 2000 or 2008 or 2020 or 2021 when they were just in the conversation and made it to the postseason. Sure, there were memorable moments like the two blackout games and Thome's homerun and Griffey's throw to homeplate, and the crowd in 2021 and Leury's bomb. But nothing even comes close to 2005. That is the ultimate prize.
  6. Nobody will consider the rebuild a true success if they don't win the world series. True success is defined by championships, not league pennants. The Sox have had one legitimate year to attempt to win it all so far. I dont count 2020. The window is still wide open and is still young. This year will be a true test. One White Sox world series win in a 10 year span with say 5 postseason appearances>9 Twins postseason appearances and nothing to show for it.
  7. I think most of it is sarcasm, but in case in isn't, the Sox already told Josh Harrison he's the primary 2B. Sox won't be looking for more infielders.
  8. Even if the Sox make 0 more moves this offseason, and then 0 moves at the deadline, but they win the world series, nobody will say this offseason was a failure. As of right now, yes it looks like they need to make more moves. But it won't be a failure until they don't win it all. And yes, they should consider just winning the division, or even just getting to the world series, a failure. This year and next year are the years to win it all. This is our window, right now.
  9. If, and that's a big if, Engel can stay healthy I legitimately think he could be our starting right fielder.
  10. I wasn't disagreeing with it. I was just stating a fact.
  11. I was thinking about the proximity to LV as well, but it's not really that close to Denver.
  12. Well, this contract is a classic example of a player going where the money is instead of where he will win a championship. Maybe he just likes mountains.
  13. Just throw the whole bullpen in there. Why not. Would answer the question why Hahn keeps signing relievers.
  14. The majority of what I do when I come to this board, especially during the offseason is scroll for tweet updates haha. Usually filter out the rest, but will from time to time respond to other comments (like this). Definitely my primary source for baseball news.
  15. Plot twist. Joe Kelly will be auditioning for an outfield spot! Sox analytics department have determined any human being that has legs, arms and can look up have over 50% chance of catching any flyball. With Kelly being able to throw a baseball extremely hard...can you imagine all of the outfield assists he will rack up?
