  1. Can you post some links of reputable journalists material supporting the owners in this? Or maybe just list the names of some?
  2. Jeff Passan fixing to lose his MLBN job
  3. I'm going to create duck duck sox talk. Only real news allowed.
  4. Real bold of you to assume what "group" I hang out with. Are you reading any of the content that the reputable journalists are putting out there?
  5. You think MLB owners realize how much the public is against them right now? How much things have changed and fans are not as ignorant as they once were? Are they that disconnected from reality? Or do they just not care? I mean I know we arent in the rooms but...seriously.
  6. They shot themselves in the foot. At least that's what it's looking like will happen. It's their own fault.
  7. It'll be delayed now, at the very least, no doubt about it. I remember a long time ago before covid, some people on here predicted this would happen. That right when the Sox turned good, the cba would expire and baseball would be cancelled to some extent. Right after the rebuild. I didn't believe them, shunting them as negative nellies, but boy were they ever right. Cudos to yall, whoever you are.
  8. So the lockout is not just a negotiating tactic for players (which obviously hasn't worked like manbutt thought it would) but for big spending owners as well?
  9. You are probably right. But, it's starting to hit mainstream news. Just saw them mention it on ABC 7. Hopefully that creates pressure.
  10. I'm 27. At the rate this is going, I'll see a billion dollar contract in my lifetime.
  11. Maybe this time the players can bring donuts and coffee to sweeten the deal. Or bring a 6 pack for Manfred and they can get him drunk like he was at the 2020 WS on live TV.
  12. This isn't going to end anytime soon...this whole ordeal can be summarized into one phrase: what a joke.
  13. That too, and I agree. But who nowadays can be relied upon to stay healthy over the course of a full season? You could say the same thing about Eloy, Robert, Moncada, Grandal...but obviously their talent is far and away above that of Engel's. No position player on this team, aside from maybe Abreu, can be relied upon to remain healthy. Maybe this new training staff will change that though.
  14. Trade Kimbrel for literally anything. Then watch him become an allstar reliever for another team again...
  15. I actually think that, if Engel can remain healthy, he could be atleast an average hitter with some pop (and we all knew what he can do defensively). He showed flashes of it in a shortened 2020. Last year was his chance to prove it over a full season but injuries got to him. The problem is, Sox are in no position for tryouts, and they need a lefty. Engel will have to serve as our primary backup OF...at least to start.
  16. True. You could just have the same guy hit all the time and have designated runners on the bases.
  17. I wonder what it would be like if no one in the lineup played defense, and no one on the field hit. Like, you have players that focus solely on perfecting their defense and don't even have to worry about swinging a bat, and then just 9 DH's that just need to perfect their swing. Like how football has offense only and defense only players. Obviously this would never happen...you're talking about adding a lot more players to the active roster...but it's fun to think about how it would change the game.
  18. Wonder if this is due to age, he's done putting up with (and possibly contributing to) the b.s., or both.
  19. Manfred scheduled to address media on Thursday. This should stir the pot a bit...
  20. This is actually a really mature thing to do.
  21. So the players proposed the pool to be $105 million, the owners counted with $10 million?, and then the players counter that with $100 million lmao.
