  1. According to MLB on FOX, the 90 minute meeting they had today was "heated" and they are still very far apart. Holy balls. What a bunch of losers.
  2. I really like Gordon's personality. As a broadcaster...meh. But seems like a really cool dude. His offensive output was maddening but he played defense very well.
  3. I don't think making it to the world series twice in a row amounts to stumbling into success. Luck, yes, every winning team needs luck on their side. But the Royals were just really good for 2 years...and then were like, you know what? We like being irrelevant a lot better. And then sucked again ?‍♂️
  4. Eh, I still think there needs to be a postseason. But there has got to be a better way to make it less random.
  5. At this point I just want the season to start on time and for each team to play 162.
  6. This whole thing is just so stupid and childish. All of it.
  7. Is this effective for those who later change their name to hi8is or is it more like whoever has their name hi8is at this current time earns 1 million annually?
  8. I don't think this is something that needs to be discussed in the CBA. I think those things are dicussions teams need to have individually, internally, with their own coaches and players.
  9. I'm 27, joined in 2015 right before the rebuild. Weird, I thought I was a lot more invested in these threads during the rebuild than I am now. Maybe due to covid and now the work stoppage?
  10. Who's the Sox rep? Seems like it would be Giolito
  11. Probably a good thing it isn't being reported...but I am surprised it isn't.
  12. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/mlb/mlb-lockout-creating-strange-dynamic-for-players-teams?fbclid=IwAR2pi6BDBeMMGrbIT7f9q-lTvHd_nJxOPisHpE7pScOkan7dk2eejBZmvFQ Not sure if this has been posted or not, but this is an interesting story on the awkward dynamic that is being created by the lockout between players and teams. Giolito is highlighted in the story. Some quotes: Lucas Giolito: "Ethan is like family to me. I’ve known him since I was 15 years old," Giolito told FOX Sports. "Beyond baseball, he is a very, very close friend of mine. He was at my wedding; I was at his. And I just think it’s strange and unfortunate that because of the lockout, he’s being told he’s not allowed to talk to me or any of the other guys." Charlie Morton: "Nothing would happen to me. I wouldn’t get in trouble [for reaching out], but I’ve gotten the sense they’re being told to not communicate with us," Morton said. "I’m also pretty sure I was told I’m not allowed to mail my X-ray disk to the Braves. It’s disappointing to me because we’re working toward the same goal. I like communicating with them." Lucas Giolito: "I understand we’re dealing with the business side of things now, during the lockout," he said. "I just think it’s unfortunate that personal relationships need to suffer as a result."
  13. All I know is right in the middle of the rebuild, Hahn said the money will be spent, and that they were building to be competitive for an extended period of time. Multiple championships is the goal. Right now is time to put the words into action. Well, ya know, after the lockout. All that to say...the Sox do have the 2nd highest payroll in the AL right now next to the Yankees...5th in MLB.
  14. The least Jerry could do is pay my student loans off for me if he isn't going to give me some nice free agents for Christmas.
  15. I guess Jose Abreu, Yasmani Grandal, Luis Robert, Dallas Kuechel (yes, Kuechel) are all not considered big free agent signings in recent history then?
  16. I don't think any of the 1B/DH guys will sign until after the CBA is finalized to potentially open up their markets if the univerdal DH is adopted (Schwarber, Rizzo, Castellanos, etc)
  17. Not having to worry about the pen is huge. HUGE. Go out there and get a backup catcher, a right fielder and a 2nd baseman and this roster is good to go.
  18. Imagine how Lions fans feel. But, at least they know they're going to suck. Bears always fall just short by blowing it on stupid plays or penalties.
