  1. I see Thompson is only hitting .217 this spring...hmmm...
  2. I think LaRoche handled this pretty childishly honestly. Even if there was a "verbal" agreement, people change their minds. It's a fact of life What's the lesson for his son? You should quit your job whenever your boss says something that you disagree with?
  3. QUOTE (Scoots @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) Some positive things to note: Danks hasn't given up any runs yet. Just saw Ishikawa's average, and he just ripped a changeup for a nice double. He's a left-handed hitting first baseman. Could he be LaRoche's replacement? Side note: Benetti called a ball foul that was a good 10-15 feet fair...that was pretty funny.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) It's about 50-50 people getting it right on MLB network. Plesac interviewed him at nc state, and he still gets it wrong every time. Yeah I noticed that too...I think it might be because there are other players in the league with a similar last name with the long 'O' sound, such as the Cubs closer Rondon.
  5. Is it annoying anyone else that the Brewer's announcers are calling Carlos Rodon's last name "Rodone" with the long 'O' sound.
  6. Please, can John Danks just pitch against the Royals this year? He gives up too many runs, and he is waaaay too predictable...not deceptive at all. I cringe every time he throws a pitch.
  7. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) 4 more homeruns today now up to 20 sofar Yeah it's crazy how the ball is jumping off their bats. We shall see if the ball has that same carry in the cold April of Chicago, however if the weather stays like it has been, they won't have to deal with the cold.
  8. Some positive things coming from the Sox so far. Here are their Spring Stats according to MLB.com as of the games on March 10th. OFFENSE: AVG: .291 (8th MLB/4th AL) HR: 16 (2nd MLB/ 2nd AL) Doubles: 23 (T5th MLB/3rd AL) Runs: 53 (11th MLB/ 5th AL) SLG: .542 (1st MLB) OPS: .878 (4th MLB/3rd AL) Obviously they have done well hitting, but their pitching is currently 26th (according to ERA) and their defense is actually pretty good with a .983 fielding pct, which is good for 9th MLB/ 5th AL. I think the pitching stats aren't a big area of concern because a lot of the runs scored against, at least from what I have seen, have come against pitchers that won't be on the major league roster come April, and our starters have been fairing decently. I am psyched about this offense (especially Avi), as even Rollins is showing some pop. Thoughts guys?
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Would be watching but MLBTV is s*** Yeah mine isn't even coming in HD and I have a MacBook Pro...
  10. Man...Navarro has let 3 straight pitches get away from him...2 were in the dirt and one a fastball that popped right out of his glove. Hope he can iron that out before the season starts.
