This is why I said last week that this window is closed. There is no avenue for this team to become a champion unless half the team significantly improves. We will enter the season as the 15th best team and finish the season that way. Welcome back to mediocrity, Sox fans.
It's moreso about not spending money this winter I think. All we needed was a manager who brings energy and communication to win the WS. The players and their roster fit are perfectly fine.
The problem is no one wants our players. The only player that has good trade value is Tim. Everyone else is too hurt, underperformed, too expensive, or we wouldn't trade them for nothing. This team is screwed and will need to rebuild in 2 years tops.
Gio wanted him. We wanted him to keep Gio and fix a guy like Cease. I don't think he has done a great job or a bad job. But he isn't going to be some tough loss, especially with Gio regressing.
I sit back and laugh at conversations I had here last year. The Cubs rebuild was not a success because if how it ended.... The Sox are better than the Yankees and Houston....... I hope fans learn from this.
Yep we are toast. Even a sweep means we are still one back with a more difficult schedule. They blew this thing big time. And by this thing I mean rebuild.
Kopech strikes me as a guy who won't ever be healthy. I am very concerned about Kopech, Gio, Eloy, Moncada, and Robert being championship caliber players. I would almost bet against them being healthy or stars.
