Your first paragraph is true because of power and control. It isn't necessarily dollars, but being in a position of this importance leads these men to believe they can do whatever they want. Having money puts you in contact with others who feel the same way.

It's about power and control. These men are rich and powerful, no one can tell them no.

Let's be real. This concept works but many teams fail at it. Our problem was always signing mid tier bums past their primes and teading away prospects for washed up vets. We have a very good roster right now and probably will have the second best in the AL. I think we will get better with acquiring young talent, but let's not act like our roster isn't stacked. We are getting the top Cuban guys and will continue to do so. Lastly, MVP Baseball 2005 needs to come back. That was the most fun baseball game I've ever played.

I mean this true but I am sure everyone is upset that we have a pipeline to Latin players. We also have gotten great value for guys we signed to good deals. IF we start spending more money we will be fine.

Or.... "Padres trade 40 prospects for Mike Trout....still have 6 top 100 prospects."

The Padres are doing big things. Good for them for attacking it the way they have.

Axtually, this would be the best post in Soxtalk history. -
Springer to the Blue Jays or Mets is fine by me. The Blue Jays will typically be blocked by the Yankees, Rays, and Bo Sox. They can winna lot of games and make noise, but it won't be easy. The Mets, Padres, Dodgers, and Braves are all great. So that is a whoever we play in the WS is gonna be a great team anyway.

Hector seems to be very sensitive and said he felt bad about the Sox not getting Machado. This is not a problem, but can someone who has twitter ask him what type of player we'd get? Let him know that we will be very disappointed in him if we can't get a decent answer lol. -

Yep indeed. But to be fair, I'd rather make the playoffs than the pkayoffs. -

If you can sign Cruz and acquire another starter then you do it. If Cruz flames out you can give Vaughn a shot. If Cruz is anywhere near his previous production he can carry you to the playoffs and a title. If his OPS drops to say 850, which would be a huge drop, that would still be very good for us. -

Fair points. But other teams few like we do about their 2 and 3's. Our offense and bullpen are good enough to carry us. I wouldn't be a fan of bringing in Q over other options, but I don't think he starts a playoff game unless he has a great year. I think we need another number 2 or 3. -

By the playoffs, Q would be our number 5 at best most likely. Gio Lynn DK Kopech/Cease -

For sure it is good news. But we've known about this for months now. He is a rumor guy so he knows what very good news really is for a fanbase lol. -

He said very good news for Sox fans though. That wouldn't be very good news for us. It would be good to hear for sure, but very good news is a good MLB player right now. -

I thought he was referencing someone else's opinion. He tagged someone at the end of the tweet and said "per" this person. -

To be fair. Machado may have had the Sox at the top of his list at that point. The Padres came in at the end with 300 million to steal it. If he says that we are in on Cruz I believe it completely. He has ties to those guys and no reason to lie. Now if he is being used by an agent for leverage that isn't his fault. But the fact that he said a few days means something is truly up. -

With the loss of money and this season being ran by Vovid again, I don't think we see a strike anymore. Baseball could not afford a strike after two Covid seasons that had minimal fans. That would be a death sentence.
