  1. I only listen to Steve Stone on rumors, the info is force fed to him. He has slammed Mazara almost as bad as Ricky. So I don't think there is a chance Mazara comes back, unless we fail on all other targets.
  2. I second this. You all are great people and fun to have good times and bad times with. I hope we can all get behind this team and support them because they need it. We are in a once and a sports lifetime here and should enjoy every minute of it. Happy Turkey Day my fellow Sox Fanatics.
  3. What about the playoffs though? If we want championships we need to be better than Yankees, Dodgers, Braves, Padres, and Rays. Those lineups are mainly loaded and they have real solid pitching or can buy it. We have Gio, a solid DK, and a bunch of questions. I think we should sign Springer, but to get another good pitcher a trade will need to happen.
  4. I think you've confused being on social media with working hard to accomplish goals.
  5. Outside of Bauer there are no realistic TOR options for us in FA.
  6. I think what he means by sure thing is you know the guy can pitch well consistently in the MLB. Kopech and Dunning have not done that as of yet. There is hope, but it hasn't been done. Trades have to be evaluated based on what is, not what if someone gets hurt next year.
  7. Moncada, TA, Abreu could be in the MVP conversation. Robert and Eloy could sniff an argument if they stay consistent and Eloy limits the ridiculous error. I think the Yankees still have more fire power but signing Springer and adding Vaughn may put us over the top.
  8. We were first because of city name order probably lol.
  9. Cease isn't being written off, he is just not being relied on. He will get a shot to stay in this rotation, unless he is traded for a stud pitcher.
  10. I want Springer to sign with us quickly, but if he has other suitors I'm not sure it makes sense for him to sign early. Yasmani was different because we were likely his best offer.
  11. It's more than fair for the Sox. What about everyone else though?
  12. Our bat in RF consistently let us down and as the season wound down our offense slowed up. Having a top 3 offense takes pressure off of your pitchers.
  13. No way I'm trading Kopech for him. I want to pair those two with Gio. This trade may not be an option if they won't start the deal with Vaughn, Dunning, Cease, and Collins.
  14. Yep but the totality ended up being meh. He is pitching very well but I do remember questions about his mental wear and tear and his public image. It may not be a thing now I don't know, but that is critical for a pitcher.
  15. I'm not a big fan of Darvish. He has too much mental wear and tear. Last year was excellent for him, but the two years prior were meh.
  16. We have to get a star pitcher or star right fielder for sure. If we get Springer, I am okay trading for a number three type pitcher if they are consistently that. JR still needs to spend money because 2022 should be a big revenue year. Hell, He should be okay acquiring an expensive pitcher for one or two years in addition to Springer.
  17. I meant free reign to spend as in he will give them a budget and not butt in on who they sign. Or may be willing to go over budget if they show it will leader to a champion. And you did not say fact, but there is this notion in Sox nation that Hahn and Kenny had no input and are pissed to the point they may quit. We don't know, yet it is presented as nearly a certainty. Just like the players are all angry and want to be traded, when in fact there is no evidence of them being upset.
  18. We don't know this for a fact. For all we know Hahn and Kenny may have disliked the idea at first but were talked into it. Or maybe JR assured them he would allow them free reign to spend money this offseason and to make trades as they see fit to go along with the hiring of a Hall of Fame manager.
  19. If that is the case, would that mean Hahn is not good enough because he fired Ricky who finished second?
  20. Thank goodness the games are played on the field. I enjoy this information but I think our lineup, rotation, and coaching next year will make us a top 5 team. Depth and how big of an upgrade we make in RF and SP2/3 will determine if we can win it all.
  21. The Cubs have had a great run. It fizzled out a little but 3 NLCSs, 3 division championships, 4 90 win seasons and, a WS in 6 years is pretty good. The Dodgers, Red Sox, Astros, and Giants are the only teams to have better runs the past decade.
  22. The Cubs division is garbage. They will have a good record for another year if they keep the band together. Only the Cards will be worth anything. The Reds can pitch but if Bauer leaves they are in trouble.
