Yep but they already knew about the DUI before hiring him. They will probably get him treatment for his usage to ensure he can manage this team successfully and so that he avoids criminal punishment. DUIs are very serious and if he was hired knowing this was in play, he ain't going anywhere.

No it is not. People never wanted TLR and are using the DUI as a final straw. To be fair though it is worth noting and discussing for sure. At the end of the day it won't matter because this organization has already made their minds up. I think the players and some management have paused to question things, but they don't care as much as fans think. They want to win and probably feel TLR will help them win. Success equates to a lot of money, notoriety and accolades, and TLR will bring that for sure. Negative attention is still attention.

Like most businesses, they will say they understand frustration and wait for the noise to die down, which it will after free agent signings. Fans won't be at the parks probably until June, so they don't care about angst.

Jackie Robinson not protesting technically in game was by design. Branch told him it was for the better good to deal with it, but him playing was the ultimate slap to racism in baseball. Believe me, Jackie had a lot of slurs and anger aimed at him on the field. But again, he was silent because his involvement in the MLB did the speaking for him. Edit. In game protesting would have defeated the purpose. So that was not the way to go in Jackie's situation. That is not the case for others.

Jerry put his balls on the table hiring TLR. I am okay with it if he backs it up. I think TLR can manage and will grow to become a solid leader here. Jerry's reputation is on the line and he will need to build a champion quickly. I think Jerry will want to prove people wrong and go all out to finish this rebuild. TLR is also a big voice, so I'm sure he is gonna let Jerry have it if Jerry isn't spending.

Leury has good value as a backup and injury replacement. Health is a big thing for him so I hope he can stay healthy.

We need two SPs. One really good one and a backend. This allows us to let Cease, Kopech, and Dunning to figure things out. I'd prefer that these pitchers are on 1 or two year deals if possible.
