  1. I get people not wanting the circus surrounding Hinch but Sox fans need to get a grip. We have a chance at a few world class managers and people are acting like we're the Yankees. If you have a chance to get a top 5 ish manager in the game you get him. It's not often an up and coming team like us gets the pick of the litter. Most teams hiring a coach are in bad situations.
  2. Well deserved. Hopefully this small playoff run lights a fire in our guys to win big next year.
  3. There is a big picture they look at. He got a rebuilt team into the playoffs. He deserved it to be honest.
  4. Sorry I was trying to embed a Stone tweet. It didn't work lol. What he said was spot on though.
  5. There is no proof TLR is the only person interviewed or will be.
  6. There is no competition here if he is their guy. No need to keep it in wraps and they can get fans prepped if need be. The only two knocks I had on TLR was his age and views on the modern game. IF he is open to modernized baseball, I can forgive his age if someone else is groomed for the job in a few years. Or, would be ready if he were to pass. For me, Hinch is the only other option available that makes sense.
  7. I think we should at the very least give it a chance if it happens. I'm sure Hahn and Kenny wouldn't ruin their legacies and this rebuild by hiring a guy who didn't share their vision. Maybe they want TLR for a few years and then have a guy waiting in the wings. TLR is old but also a very good manager. He wouldn't be top 2 choice for me, but I'd give it a chance.
  8. 2016- Dodgers lost to the best team in baseball, the Cubs. 2017- Dodgers lost the WS to an Astros team that was just as good as they were if not better. 2018- Dodgers lost WS to the best team in baseball, the Red Sox. 2019- Dodgers lost in game 5 to red hot Nationals who won the WS. 2020- Losing NLCS to a very good Braves team that they probably should have beaten. Kershaw did not pitch game 2 so there is that. 2020 is the only season I think the Dodgers underperformed. And 2020 is a fluky year and the Braves are very good. The other years they lost to the team that won the WS. In those cases, those teams were the best in baseball.
  9. Not true. The Astros boards was very informative about Hinch and they agreed that he was a top 5 manager. They said he did a great job managing for them and made great decisions. I think based on the research I've done that this is true. A big con for me may be that he is not a Matt Nagy type of leader, but this team doesn't need that. Hinch will need to get the guys behind him by remaining honest with them and fair. Timmy, Abreu, and DK can do the more emotional leading. All we would need him to do is put the team in the best position to win every game. I think you get that with him.
  10. I think it is semantics. They are basically saying they want a proven winner who you know the moment isn't too big for. And a guy that they can evaluate based on the post season handling of his roster and game decisions.
  11. There was nothing wrong with what he said. She tried to low-key talk shit to him and he mocked the situation with LA fans in general. Based on those tweets he did not humiliate her. Unless there are tweets I am missing.
  12. He will go fast. The Tigers are gonna try to snatch him up if he becomes available.
  13. I couldn't care less what Cubs media thinks of Hinch. If he is good enough to get us into never before seen territory on the south side then that is enough for me. Let's not act like the Astros would be crap had they not cheated. They may not have won it all but they would still be a top AL team. And even if the players are cheating, the manager still has to operate the pitching staff effectively and make smart decisions with his lineup, base running, and situational hitting. The Astros stopped cheating by the playoffs last year and still almost won a championship. They didn't cheat this year and made it to the ALCS.
  14. If a coach tells his player to take PED's, that player is getting suspended. Some players said no and others said yes. Players should have been suspended as well.
  15. We look at a manger from a tactical perspective. If a manager has a really good roster, that will determine most of the wins. A guy who is good at his job doesn't lose games because of poor lineup construction and in game managing. We will have the talent to win 95 to 100 games , we need a smart manager to keep it that way. The Astros have talent, which is why they are in the ALCS again, but good managers don't lose you games.
  16. Well because he still made smart managerial decisions with his pitching staff, lineups, hit and runs, etc in big games.
  17. Hinch was a top 5 manager in baseball. So yes, he is probably the best option.
  18. There are no quality one's on the open market that we would sign for more than one year, with or without Hinch. I'm not concerned about players not wanting to play for Hinch because our core is set anyway. He is a top 3 manager in baseball which would also upgrade our results. I think there is a better chance we sign Springer to a 4 year deal than signing Bauer.
  19. Yes, but is one year of Bauer worth more than 5 years of Hinch and a quality number 2 or 3 arm? And a better shot at getting Springer? I don't think so personally.
  20. This, and I believe DK is the link between the two sides. The FO can't talk to Hinch, but DK can.
  21. I agree with this. They could have been forgiven for blowing the division if they proved to be successful in the playoffs, which are more important. Houston would have beaten us in 4, but I think the narrative would have changed with a playoff series victory. I do think Hahn wanted Ricky gone based on how Stone was talking. He just couldn't fire him if we were too successful.
  22. Cora probably won't get the job because he was the ring leader of the cheating. Hinch can argue he was a much lesser influence on the cheating and did not agree with it. Which makes him wrong for not manning the ship, but i think the GM was in on it as well, so his hands were tied.
