If Bauer wants a one or two year deal, I can see Jerry doing both. He wants a championship badly and those two moves with the addition of Kopech and adding Rodon to the bullpen would make us a huge favorite to win the AL. That is the savy move Jerry would want to make.

Even if we add Springer, we need to add a stud pitcher.

Maybe they believe the IL won't help him but exerting effort on his muscles will with the occasional few off days?

Are your wife and daughter Cubs fans? My wife was a lifelong Cubs fan until 2016 when I told her the Cubs supported Trump. Now she is a converted Sox fan (had to do what I had to do lol). I've been telling her the Sox would be good in 2020 but she was impatient because of the Cubs run. Now she is really excited, i was nervous after the Cardinals DH because I stuck my chest out and was looking like a fraud haha.

That lineup is for now. Robert needs to bat 4th ahead of Eloy until Eloy has a string of success at the plate. Right now, Robert would be protecting the heck out of Abreu.

I've been saying this for a week but.... Tim Moncada Abreu Robert Eloy Grandal/McCann EE/McCann Mazara Madrigal I know lefty righty but who cares at this point, we can deal with that next year. Robert's OBP isn't as high as you'd like at 4, but he produces runs. Grandal has a nice OBP but he isn't driving people in enough to be fourth.

Least likely win is Sunday. Keller is the kind of pitcher that gives us fits and then there is the Sunday possible sweep attempt. But DK has been on point and we should have a good chance to win. We need to clean up in the next 8 games because the last 14 are gonna be tough.

We have to be honest with ourselves (FO). If this were a 162 game season, we'd probably win 88 or 89 games. We need to build depth in addition to improving the starting roster. I believe by improving the starting pitching, we can improve our bullpen, i.e Rodon, Lopez. We need one of those super subs to compliment Garcia and Engel. We also need a Hader, Miller, Chapman type in our bullpen. It could be Burdi, but we shall see.

Because we were losing on purpose so to speak. It was about getting young guys playing time and building character. Winning championships is a different story and takes an different type of manager. Hahn said the goal was multiple championships, not simply making the playoffs.
