  1. Yes it for sure will be tough as the Cubs can hit and the pitching matchups are against us. Cease will not be able to hide this time around. He must bring it. My lineup guess is 1. SS Anderson 2. 3B Moncada 3. 1B Abreu 4. C Grandal 5. LF Jimenez 6. DH Encarnacion 7. CF Robert 8. RF Engel 9. 2B Mendick
  2. Our starting rotation is not 7th best in baseball. Its okay to be excited and honest about where we stand. My post pertains to winning championships and not 7th seeds. If we want to win championships, starting pitching will need to be better. Like I said, 20 of our 26 games have come against offenses that suck. We've done the job but must remain realistic. Again being realistic does not mean we can't also be excited.
  3. When we talk about reservations, we are speaking on the level of multiple championships, as Hahn expects. This rotation is not close to that level yet. They are good enough to own bums and give us a shot at a 7 seed, but can they win a world series next year as is? I wouldn't bank on that and think they are two years away as a rotation. A major TOR einforcement is needed. But yes, they are doing a solid job overall, although 20 games have come against bad offensive teams.
  4. Not to mention Baltimore and Toronto have each other to beat up on, plus games against the Yankees and Rays. Texas has the As and Astros and the Dodgers, Rockies, Padres, and Dbacks.
  5. If EE finishes this season strong I think he comes back. He got the team option as insurance for the Sox. If Vaughn isn't coming until July he is staying. Next year is year one of WS contention for our front office, i doubt they rely on Yermin or Collins to be an everyday DH until July.
  6. Vaughn won't be up until July. EE will be back, especially with McCann all but gone.
  7. Robert will probably be back tomorrow with Grandal. Delmonico is an extra lefty bat and insurance if an outfielder gets hurt again. Edit: Just saw Ricky's statements, disregard my post.
  8. Hell, the Cubs overrated manager has a spot on a huge Sox fan's show every Tuesday on The Score.
  9. LuBob is currently eating 25 hotdogs before rolling in mud in Northern Alabama. I'm sure he appreciates your concern.
  10. Nah Sosa is forever Slammin Sammy or Corky the Cub.
  11. My point is they both miss games. We need to be prepared for the three that I named to have frustrating nagging injuries. Whether it is soreness or ankle sprains.
  12. Well, I see your point. The problem with Ricky is that there are too many bad moments for him. A shitty AAA player can come up and bat .230 for a team and hit home runs. See Palka and Delmomico. The thing is, the bad moments outweigh the good, especially when compared to the average player.
  13. Anderson, Moncada, and Robert will always have those nagging injuries. We need to be prepared for this and sign versatile players accordingly. I know we joke about this but I wouldn't mind Anderson learning to play the outfield. I'm sure his range and catching ability would be fine out there.
  14. I think people are saying James should start tomorrow's daytime game. And if Grandal isn't ready, he can't catch a night then a day game.
  15. That takes guts for sure. But you better be hoping Mize fails you lol.
  16. If Robert and Grandal are out then we need to start Moncada and McCann. Tomorrow when Robert and Grandal are back, we can rest Moncada.
  17. They got scared when the PA said now batting, Luis....
  18. Robert said he was fine. Hopefully his shoulder doesn't fall off in his sleep.
  19. This will work against Brewers, Tigers, Royals, etc. We want him to be prepared to bounce good teams.
  20. Fans were pointing these things out as to why he was a waste of a trade.
