  1. The Tatis trade helped lead to the rebuild. The Tatis trade also will probably lead to not trading any of our valuable prospects for average vets. Some good wil come from it.
  2. Maybe, if it is very team friendly. I don't think we need Magical the first month to be honest. I also don't think he is talented enough of a hitter to warrant the risk.
  3. I think that this will happen in the new CBA. To get rid of the manipulation, players will get paid earlier. In return, I think teams will get the franchise for 1 home grown talent per year and a max of two tags per player.
  4. We will get a deal done with Yoan when the time comes. We will probably lose Eloy in 7 years though after giving Yoan, Gio, and probably Kopech good deals. If for some reason Yoan can't be retained, we will probably trade him for a King's ransom and replace him with a FA. If you take him off this team, we can still win with the rest of the talent that will be here.
  5. Not sure he is our guy, but if the Twins get JD, we will need more reliable pitching for sure.
  6. What about the 50 years that followed? We were close in 2006 but it is about time we go on a six year run of success. We are due.
  7. Everytime I hear the "20's" I feel old. And yes it will be the best decade, but it's not hard to top the others.
  8. I'm not worried about projection and regression with Yo, I am concerned about his health. IF he stays healthy, he will be between a 4 and 6 fWAR player most years.
  9. Its interesting that Rick said we have more money to spend now, and they will save money for mid season acquisitions. This basically confirms they will go for the division this year. This being the case, we need to extend Robert and bring in another outfielder in addition to bullpen help.
  10. It's not easy getting through a 3 year rebuild. There are many highs and many lows, but it has been an awesome ride this year. Hopefully, we can all sit back and smile at these dark days of losing, as they've led to a few titles.
  11. True, but he definitely should leave it.
  12. Let's not over think this. The best hitter with great speed and power bats first. Robert. The best all around hitter/OBP guy with a little speed bats second. (Preference goes to lefty if lead off man and 3rd batter are righties) Moncada The best power bat and hit tool bats third. Jimenez Good hitter/high OBP with power hits cleanup. (Preference given to player that helps keep handedness balanced) Grandal After these four, EE and Abreu can go next. Then Mazara to keep balance, Timmy, and then Magical.
  13. I was saying the three position group as a whole was not a weakness anymore because of the other 2, and Timmy's new found offense.
  14. The best player and hitter thus far is batting 6th.
  15. The evidence was circumstantial.
  16. And the three positions you listed will be manned by Timmy, EE, and Robert next year. So definitely not a weakness for our team anymore.
  17. Those options may cost a lot of money, which the team may want to use elsewhere? I don't mind trading for a reliever if they have a decent amount of service time remaining.
  18. To be fair, they are also batting after the 8 and 9 hitters, and in the NL, the pitcher.
  19. Maybe JR has already told Stone he'd be back after they take care of team business. Stone would not be spilling lithe beans if he was concerned about not having a job. He'd be kissing JRs ass for sure, but not leaking team business. For instance, when he tweeted about a pitcher signing, some people were clamoring for Ryu, and some asked steve if he preferred Ryu or Keuchel. Steve responded in one word, Keuchel. Probably because he knew that was our target.
  20. I certainly do. There is a reason Stone tweeted about building houses, the more knowledgeable fans, and all of his updates that ironically come true. Yes, they want the fan base to calm down as they keep sending me emails and calling me to reup tickets. Any FO worth their weight wants a happy fanbase.
  21. He has direct ties to the team and JR. He is getting his info directly from them. I think they are using him to calm down the fan base.
  22. I would guess by your post the win total would be 83 games with a shot at 93. You are correct though, well said.
  23. I think our floor next year will be 80 wins. So if things go as expected or better, we can add 10 to 15 wins to this. I think being a .500 team at the break last year with a team not nearly as talented as this one, should inspire hope in us all. Especially since the division isn't getting any better.
  24. Is this a joke or a serious post? I ask because I'm not sure 95 wins is easy for any team lol.
  25. The talk is we are between an 80 and 87 win team at the moment. Many think we can't catch the Twins because we finished 28 games behind them past year, and that we'd have to see significant progress from our youngsters. I agree, but a some things should be factored in. 1. We were nearly a .500 club at the break last year. 2. That losing streak after the break was the main reason our record tanked. We hot swept in 4 games by the Royals of all teams. 3. We had a ton of injuries. 4. We had 7 players playing regularly that had no business doing so. 5. We don't have a major weakness. Our bullpen will get much better as well. 6. Our main guys should produce more positive results than last season. 7. Detroit and KC suck bad and we should fare better against Cleveland and Minny. If we can stay relatively healthy and progress a little, I don't see why we can't win 90 games next season. The Twins were able to catch Cleveland by upgrading their roster and I think we can do the same. Enjoy the good times!
