  1. I feel bad for Eloy, I know he wanted that slam bad.
  2. I think we all know how this game is gonna go. The Cubs are miles ahead of us.
  3. He punted this season and wants the team to lose.
  4. The Cubs won the trade. Get those Portland tickets ready.
  5. He meant he talked to some random guy sitting in a chair.
  6. If a left handed batter bats lefty against a lefty, the world ends. If a lefty bullpen arm doesn't come in against a lefty, even if he is a hall of famer, the world ends.
  7. Collins offense would be elite as a catcher and ordinary as a first baseman. Andrew Vaughn has that position on lock anyway. The good news is if McCann can remain a positive player for us, then we won't be devastated if Collins move around from catcher to first to DH.
  8. Gets hurt and we expect him back, then he just disappears.
  9. I agree with the Cubs here. We should let Nova bat 8th and Yolmer bat 9th. If McCann and Eloy get on base, we were screwed anyway.
  10. At least we aren't losing much by losing our DH.
  11. Service time is no longer an issue after the extension.
  12. We don't match up this series very well but hopefully we can get one.
  13. You are right, but not with Colome. He can be a good thing for our future and the player he nets us isn't going to have a great outlook. He will have some potential, but not much.
  14. That makes sense but Jose gave us a chance in our bad years, and deserves a shot to win a ring. I'd give him a three year deal and if he is playing bad, then so be it. Team chemistry and name recognition is still a thing that attracts talent. Especially when you lack national relevance like we do.
  15. When I say bad contract, I don't mean bad player. We may sign Wheeler to a deal that pays him 60 to 80 million for instance. I'd call that a bad contract compared to what is out there. If we pay Puig 20 million a year I'd call that a bad contract compared to what we could have had last year. Those are guys I think we will go after and have to overpay. The Sox have changed up over the years but not with spending money on big names. We saw this last year when we finally believed as fans that they would get it done. The Sox operate like the Bulls, and they don't get top talent either.
  16. I think we need to stop talking about Jose like he is Dunn or Alonso. He may not be a young great player, but he has plenty of value to give this organization on and off the field. You can do a lot worse than Jose Abreu at first or DH.
  17. And Tatis isn't special? We got Shields in a trade that may go down as the worst in Sox history.
  18. My first post implies the Sox won't spend the money. The second post is what they should do.
  19. And you don't think there is a better chance for them to sign lower tier players instead of the premium talent? I'd love to be wrong but we just don't win these 150 million to 300 million dollar battles.
  20. You have a great problem. Six man rotation or srill keep one in the pen with Rodon.
  21. I see what you mean but it makes sense losing a bit for the betterment of our rebuild. I want to keep Colome because we could really use him next season. Winning is fun and we should actually try to learn how to win this year. Losing on purpose should be over and we should only trade players if we get knocked off our feet with the return.
