  1. Really? So a number that rhymes with mehundred million isnt too much?
  2. This sounds like Hahn speak. Manny would have been here for 10 years, so when that core showed up we would have him. When the time is right to sign guys as you say, the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, Angel's, Mets, Tigers, Astros, Giants, and Mariners will just outbid us then. This was the time to strike, when you only had to compete with the Padres.
  3. How can the Sox deal be superior if they wouldn't touch 300 million? I'm sure the tax savings of their 260 million dollar offer wasnt good enough to come here.
  4. Funny how the other teams in the NBA make it work. We seem to always finish second for these guys, and money is a part of it. We trade valuable draft picks for cash, we traded Kyle Korver for NBA cash that we didnt actually spend. They offer Max's for Lebron types but when it comes down to it, they wont fork up the cash.
  5. Rick Hahn said he wants Sox fans to dream, and to trust the team again. He and Kenny sold us a beach house in Iowa. The trust is fading fast and they better have something good up their sleeves. The fact that they were talking to Harpchado shows they need a star. We know it, and they know it.
  6. The problem for me is that anyone with a brain knew 300 million was the bench mark. Our organization seems shocked that 10 and 300 million got it done.
  7. The teams that win championships sign top end talent to supplement their rebuilt core. We aren't contending for years to come with just the guys in the minors.
  8. I guess this is why the high attendance Bulls are always signing top free agents. The reality is, our owner sucks, the GMs on both teams suck, and they fans need to tell both teams to fuck off.
  9. With Machado and a few other moves, this will be the 3rd and last year of non 85 win baseball. With their weak division and key signings, they can win 82 this year.
  10. The Sox are by most oddsmakers, ranked as the 16th to 18th best team prior to Machado.
  11. Our rebuild is much different Than the norm. We were able to turn our farm from almost worst to first In less than a year.
  12. I assure you if this off season flops, Hahn, KW, and JR won't want to be around this city.
  13. Funny, some poster told me 20 times that the Padres only got in the race because the price was soooooo low. Now they have allegedly have the highest offer. Waiting out players leads to teams having time to figure stuff out with their budget. We made the right move by waiting, but now we may need to deal the deal with an offer that can't be refused.
  14. Well, I guess we're lucky to be competing against the Padres and their low payroll history and not the Cubs, Yankees, BoSox, Dodgers, Rangers, Angels, Cardinals, Mets, Tigers, Giants, and Astros.
  15. For the first time in this race, I think it ends within a week. Looks like the offers are ramping up like the last big bang at a fireworks show.
  16. At no point was he not going to the highest bidder. This was always the case.
  17. You have to be thought about to be overrated. He may now be underrated.
  18. That's pretty impressive actually. Like Elton Brand.
  19. Eloy is a much more polished hitter than Yoan, who had huge hole in swing. Yoan I think will be an outstanding defender and good offensive player. But he definitely needed time to adjust.
  20. Fair point. But I wouldn't be one of his first few clients. I guess at this point he's built a brand so it's fine.
  21. Well that is a game changer I admit. I wouldn't hire an agent with no degree.
  22. If you aren't worried about quality then try Mardhalls, Target, TJ Max, Meijer, Walmart, and Amazon.
