This FO isn't dumb. They were hoping the SP and bullpen would mask a lot of the offensive and defensive flaws. They were also hoping the weak division would inflate the record. We have a good team but not a special one at this point.
This is why you bring in real not and not rely on guys like Sheets to DH. You are trying to win a title with a bunch of unproven guys who need to develop.
Good hitters tend to have the better luck. Our plate vision and discipline are awful right now. The overall results speak for themselves. As it stands we are ass, and the worst kind of ass.
The difference is testing him out to play 4 days in a row. Let him rest and do maintenance work to get back. I'm sure if he thinks he may play everyday there is a different routine to get ready for the game.
The big deal is letting him heal without worrying day to day if he can play. It sucks, but it's best to be on the safe side with the injury he sustained.
