The draft has changed considerably for the better over the past 5-10 years as a result. No, getting a top 3 pick is absolutely necessary, and I think they'll ultimately pick 2nd. It'll be a tight race down the stretch with the Phillies. My point is that picks 1-4 aren't sure fire to bring stars any moreso than 5-13. The bolded are the only guys I would call game changers, You always want to draft high but I'd rather draft 7-10 if it meant our young guys were playing well.

Yeah but you also dont want to stretch out starters when you have a big lead because your pen sucks. You also don't want to screw up team morale. If you did your job well at work but a few coworkers kept screw up so the projects fail at the end you'd be pissed. It's only human nature to get frustrated when others blow your great work time and time again. It's only a matter of time before that locker room starts to breakdown.

This rebuild is a 4 until I see a trade involving players that didn't anger the Front Office. So far we've only traded away Eaton and Sale. We probably lost a lot of value not trading Q earlier so hopefully he can have another dominate month leading to the trade deadline to get us a top 50 prospect.

Everyone wanted Avi gone but I was in the keep him camp. For some reason I felt like he was one of those guys that needed like 5 years to figure it out. Kind of like Niko Mirotic for the Bulls will need. Had we gotten rid of him this spring and he put on this show we'd all have broken TV's.
