  1. Do we get to stay healthy as well?
  2. I think we have better odds than them because they play in more competitive divisions for the most part. There is no guarantee those teams will won their divisions.
  3. Health is fine to take into consideration but the lineups we put out there gave us no chance. Our pitchers shit themselves against quality including in Houston this past season. They got progressively worse as the season went on, which was the Red flag. Resting was not the problem, Lynn getting hit well, DK being useless, and Rodon's arm falling off again was. The bullpen pitching like crap for the second half was as well. This didn't get any better once the playoffs started.
  4. Well, we as fans want to win and saw red flags with our team. Many posters in Sox Nation said the regular season results didn't matter as they have no bearing on post season. Those fans did not want to see the truth and fought that point to the end. With a young team like the Sox playing good baseball is very important heading into post season. For a veteran team that has had success, it is not as big for them. Again, this is something many didn't want to believe and just hoped a switch would get flipped. As a fan you can bury your head in the sand, but at some point, you will eventually see clearly.
  5. I'm talking about for this season that was goal one. That is why I said first and foremost. We were not a favorite to win our division coming in by many people. The first step is winning the division. After that goal was in hand, the team flat lined in general.
  6. TLR was brought in here to get us to the post season first and foremost. He was outcoached big time but our pitchers shit the bed against Houston too. They didn't give us any chance in that series. Coming into this season Minnesota was the slight favorite to win the ALC.
  7. That is called a prayer. We needed to win games to get that 2 seed to have any chance against Houston as we don't pitch well there. Great teams fix issues as they arise and try not to wait until the post season happens to possibly win. The Dodgers won it all last year and didn't just let games play out, they brought in Max and Trea.
  8. He is right though. The evidence was there but people didn't want to see it, then will use hindsight as an argument.
  9. He was already on the team at the time though and had won a title. He did the right thing building his legacy here.
  10. Sounds like excuses being made for a bad trade.
  11. Can't teach an old dog new tricks.
  12. Konerko was traded to us. And Robert signing had a lot to do with the Latin Connection.
  13. Yep for every other team. We get screwed more often than not in these cases.
  14. I don't think so. Red Sox and Braves can rake.
  15. This argument is still weak. Boston knows the Rays well and Boston was a top team for a large chunk of this year. They got Sale back and Schwarber at the deadline. The Dodgers beat one 100 win team and then lost to a team that should not have had HFA over them. Atlanta is also a very talented team that was dealing with a ton of injuries. People need to stop making excuses for us getting our butts beat badly.
  16. The playoffs are a crapshoot because all of the teams are really good. Look at the AL pennant winner that last 10 years. How many times could you argue that team didn't belong? Maybe the first WS year Royals. Also, the Dodgers won over 100 games and lost HFA against the Braves. Had the Dodgers had HFA like they should have that is probably a different series.
  17. If I'm not mistaken the Dodgers have played in multiple WS' prior to this year. We haven't won 3 playoff games yet.
  18. Possibly. Man we have to get this right.
  19. We got our asses kicked because Houston is better than us, period. They smacked us around in Houston during the regular season as well. They aren't timid, They played like they had been since late June. People just thought it was because they were preparing for the post season.
  20. Not in the playoffs when rosters and focus tightens. And teams don't use bad players and have shorter leashes for pitchers. These playoffs aren't as random as people think. They are tough to win in because all of the teams are good.
