  1. He can be one of the injured guys allowed in the dugout.
  2. At the deadline it would have been a B. I loved the Tepera trade. I wanted Escobar over Cesar for sure, but Cesar was fine at his cost and pop. I liked adding Kimbrel but not at the expense of Madrigal and paying him 16 million. Especially when he struggles after changing teams. Now it is to be determined. I will just them after post season.
  3. The only shot we have in Houston is using pitchers that can get shutout innings there. Our offense is gonna struggle I think in that building. We invested big in this bullpen and they will have 3 or 4 off days so they need to man up. I'd rather have to bullpen it in game 1 than game 4, especially when we have Lopez, Kopech, and DK if innings need to be eaten that game.
  4. I would start Rodon game 1 as he's proven himself in Houston this year. If his arm falls off you go to Lopez and Kopech. I would go Rodon and Gio and then Lynn and Cease.
  5. That was quick. I'll be taking Mrs. Drake and the young ones out to celebrate. No school today or tomorrow. Holiday lol.
  6. Let's get a clinch in game 1 please so that I can enjoy the whole day! Go Sox! Let's get dangerous.
  7. I was 24 and finishing up grad school at U of I. I was only going to grad school because of Mrs. Drake. She was a junior when I started grad school and I didn't want to move to Chicago without her because I was afraid some brotha's and bro's would try to park in my garage and our relationship would be done. I met her in 2005 and convinced her to become a Sox fan instead of the Cubs and that WS really helped. As the Sox clinched in 2008, we had a blast going to games and enjoyed the intensity of that division race. We went to the Grand Slam game and watched 163 at a bar getting drunk and making out. I would propose to her the following year after some random perfect game concluded. Being a Sox fan at the time of my life was fun and weird. I thought every team had a shot to win every year if they just played well enough. Now I go into seasons knowing what to expect from each team and analyzing the game like crazy. I want to go back to the days of not caring about a Six player's OPS and just knowing that I love the dude because he's on my team lol.
  8. I'm not typically attracted to my look, so I wouldn't date myself, but I would certainly fuck myself.
  9. Cardinals 2002-NLCS 2004- World Series 2005-NLCS The point still remains that teams that have had post season success get more leeway.
  10. I think we are tied with Toronto for starting pitching until Rodon proves to be healthy. But yes from a talent stand point we are right there with anyone, it is a matter of guys like Eloy, Rodon, Kimbrel, Vaughn, etc being able to play and play well. TLR also needs to manage his ass off, especially the bullpen.
  11. But they were hot to finish the year. If you have a ton of playoff experience you get more leeway. Houston was under .500 last year and made the ALCS. Teams that have proven themselves in post season can get a away with coasting. Our team finished 2-8 last year and lost in the wild card round. Playing well in September isn't just about having a good record. We need guys to be hitting, playing sound defense, and for our bullpen to figure it out. When you have young guys that with no ALDS experience, going into post season with confidence helps.
  12. This is what people aren't getting. The 83 Orioles won a title a few years prior and beat a hot Sox team that year. You can coast if you have the experience and have been there before. The Astros can coast because they've been to multiple WS' recently. We have no real playoff experience for the most part other than last year's fake round. We need every advantage we can get.
  13. I understand. But there are levels to it. We were hot that September, but the Orioles were hot for a few years, even with a down year.
  14. Well DK just called the team out again. At least he is right this time.
  15. The Orioles won 98 games that year and had won a WS a few years prior. We were hot that year and stretch, they were hot for a long time.
  16. Yep. He has to be integrated slowly. They could have kept him off the team to slowly come back and then pitch 5 inning games, but they needed him in the bullpen.
  17. I think his point was had Kopech been used as a potential playoff starter, he'd be a better option than Cease at this point. I'm not sure that is accurate however.
