  1. Yep. This was the 13 game stetch Twins fans said would save their season. Their expectation was 10-3 at worst and so far are 5-4. Their schedule gets tough right after starting with the Yankees. But to be fair the Twins are only a handful of games ahead of the Orioles.
  2. No thank you. First two innings in extras should be normal and then go to the 2nd base runner rule 12th and 10th. At that point if neither team scores it is on them. I'm okay with 7 inning DH's if fans get a portion of their money back for the two less innings of play.
  3. We don't even know if he exists or is just a part of our imaginations.
  4. It sucks but we can cushion our record before then. We caught a big break with the Twins sucking this bad and Cleveland being our main competition. Robert and Eloy should be back and hopefully we still have Engel and Hamilton for outfield backup. Our last 19 games are Angels at home, Texas, Cleveland, and Detroit. That's not the end of the world.
  5. Yep. We have a much better chance of winning "this" game on 9/23 with Eloy and Robert, trade deadline reinforcements, and Kopech/Crochet ready to start a DH game.
  6. I would say right now it is the Indians and then the Twins. The Tribe have competed against us all 90's and even were a thorn in 2005. They were a pain last year and this year as well at the start of our rebirth.
  7. Lol indeed. The Cardinals and Brewers have stopped a lot of Cubs success lately. I hate every team in our division except the Royals first and foremost. I also hate the Yankees and in the NL the Cubs and Padres.
  8. No Lynn on short rest, save the pen, save the guys with nagging injuries, end the bad luck in Cleveland. Rainout it is.
  9. People have been saying this for a few years. They aren't just going to go away. Last year we were 2 and 8 against them and 5 and 6 this year. The numbers don't look good offensively for them but they seem to find a way.
  10. Yeah that was what made this tough. We basically said we don't want game two and then got Bieber. All you can ask for is a chance and we still have it. If we lose tonight we need to find a way to win tomorrow or rain out.
  11. Yeah Yermin has three more weeks of this before we need to find another solution.
  12. Alright Cease and defense let's get another 5 scoreless innings going.
  13. Yep. Need too many nice hits to score. Keep it at 3 or lower and take your chances.
  14. I didn't say stay. I said Sox fans won't be congregating at the Aria Sportsbook.
  15. Might well let Cease run the course. Justin is pitching so odds of winning are slim anyway.
  16. I just got back from my Vegas trip and I am stunned. The two teams that had damn near all the jerseys were the Dodgers and White Sox. Our fans were everywhere the entire time. I always make it a point to say hello to anyone I see in Chicago gear and only two if the hundreds I interacted with said they weren't actually Sox fans. The Yankees were third on the pecking order. Me and Mrs. Drake were decked out in Sox gear most of the trip. These are great times my fellow Sox fans.
  17. We live in Chicago and our team isn't full of day drinking fans during the week. 6 o'clock would work if it wasn't Chicago and we didn't have a second team. You have terrible rush hour traffic during that time and our suburban fans may not want to make the trip. Cubs fans walk to their games by the thousands and have easy public transportation. It isn't easy getting to a Sox game unless you live on the metra line or are relatively close to the red line.
  18. I would too, but we need the fan support. It is easier for fans to show up when the game starts at 7. We need fans in the seat to support the team and to help with payroll. Saturday games should start at 5 IMO.
  19. I'm sad to say it but our record is 33-21 and not 33-20. These losses against Cleveland are tough because they can still really pitch. But that is why you sweep Baltimore and go 5-1 against the Twins. You pad your record against lower teams and play .500 against the good ones.
  20. Tomorrow won't be either. Would have been nice to win this one but we mailed it in after game 1. Such is life.
  21. This game looks winnable but this team was content winning game one.
