I want to see the power numbers pick up as it gets warm. We don't need to lead the league in power numbers, but we should be middle of the pack. That would make winning games a lot easier.
I had the Twins winning 93 games this year. This start has probably dropped them at least 4 games. Their upcoming schedule won't do them too many favors either.
The Royals were never a threat. A bad team or two gets off to a hot start every year. Twins are still the biggest threat and Cleveland will be a pain the whole year.
Most teams struggle to score against TOR arms. All you can really do in baseball is crush mediocre pitching and play ace pitchers close and win it when they leave.
And that is why they say pitching is the most critical thing to have. Because even of your offense is struggling, you still have a chance to be good. I have faith in our offense as it is good, but my concern is with consistent power.
Run differential isn't just about offense. If you have great pitching you will have a high run differential as well. We have great SP right now so we can still be at the top of run differential without a consistent offense.
Run differential has a lot more meaning in the middle of June when schedules balance out and players get into form. It's great to see right now, but the sample size makes it a little more hit and miss at this point.
Odd man out will be Vaughn if Yermin is mashing. Eloy us expected to be back in early August. No way they don't bring him back to get his feet wet before the playoffs.
