We also DFA two clean up hitters recently in Yonder and Nicky D.
-
Yep 2 or 3 years at big money. If he stays healthy and performs on that deal he will still be young enough for one more big payday.
-
If everyone is healthy I'd argue keeping Hamilton over Mendick. You can pinch run him as necessary late in games and still have viable backups all over the field to come into the game.
-
Yep Leury is versatile and cannot be DFA. He sucks as a starter but he isn't nearly as bad as he has played. He and Engel are critical role players for us and Hamilton is creeping into that category with his speed.
-
With Yermin hitting as well as he has, we now have a real looking lineup again if Vaughn is in left.
-
He isn't getting a long term deal from anyone unless he is Cy Young and even then it probably won't happen. He'll get a short deal with real good money if he pitches well. I am happy for him that this season has been a great success thus far, but I'll hold any apologies until the season plays out.

This is the best time to play Boston. The law of averages smack teams hard in baseball.

Cease to IL/Burdi Recalled - COVID symptoms but no positive test
SonofaRoache replied to Big Hurtin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree with this. If you don't want to get vaccinated that is your business. But don't screw your team over or the game over. -
Let's be real. Williams ain't gonna be here long no matter what. There is no need to get an extended look at him over Vaughn. Rodon and Mercedes always had talent, but relying on them to be big contributors this year was not something fans or the team should have felt completely confident in coming into the season. It is working out well so far because they have remained healthy and are producing. Those two were never about the talent in itself.

Sox resign Rodon 1 yr /3m official, Vargas DFA
SonofaRoache replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Lynn will be easy to extend for a few years if he plays well. Rodon is going to want to cash in big time. I'm not sure we will pay his price. They may consider a big deal for two years as a prove it type of situation. -
Rodon over Paxton and Q looking good so far lol. Well done Carlos!
-
Rodon has the worst luck on baseball Earth.

I've had two tall glasses of Twins fans tears today. It has helped a lot through the early going.
-
Let's be real. Badrigal and Mendildo both are weak slap hitters. Both have talent but both need time to develop.
-
1. Anderson 2. Eaton 3. Abreu 4. Grandal 5. Yermin 6. Moncada 7. Robert 8. Vaughn 9. Madrigal Edit: I see someone else posted this lineup.
-
I love some Engel but he is still a platoon for Engel and defensive replacement at this point. I'm speaking in terms of wanting him to be the guy in LF.
-
No 5 gamers until we bring in a legit LF who can hit. But if there is a time to do it, next week is the time. The schedule gets real interesting after that.

White Sox running almost exactly MLB average payroll
SonofaRoache replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It does explain the pessimism amongst the fan base though. Being a losing organization for so long doesn't buy you leeway or the benefit of the doubt with fans. There is reason to be real excited about this team but we haven't seen them be good for a full season yet. So we wait. -
White Sox running almost exactly MLB average payroll
SonofaRoache replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Probably because we have never made the playoffs in back to back years and have like 7 playoff appearances in 60 years. -
It's bad when we are craving for Engel. Real bad.

Starting Lamb over Yermin was pure stupidity. I don't care if Lamb is left handed, Yermin has given this team some great at bats. Being left handed is a favorable matchup if you don't suck ass. Lamb sucks ass.

Sox vs Indians - Tuesday, April 13th, 710pm

White Sox fans deserve better. Some of these games feel like losses before they begin. No excuses in a championship hopeful season to run these lineups out there. -

I wouldn't be so sure this team will find its way to enough wins for the playoffs. There are a lot of issues that need to be figured out starting with the manager. -

We had a chance in the 9th and blew it. It's going to be very difficult for this team to get to 22 games over .500 to make the playoffs if the big bats don't wake up. -
