I mean for the first 8 games we've gotten Eloy production from Yermin and are still struggling. So Eloy's bat will always be missed but other guys aren't pulling their weight. True over the course of the season Eloy gives you big OPS numbers, but the way we should have made up for it was to put Vaughn in left and bring in another bat that can hit. Collins and Yermin may be okay but we can't keep taking risks as the season progresses.

Two problems. One is that Eloy replaces our most productive bat in Yermin. So that is most likely a wash. Two is we need to start playing well today. We don't have time to give it a few more weeks because that is when our schedule gets tough. We need to stack wins now and hold our own during the tougher series.

Engel is a super sub for sure. If our outfield is Engel Robert Eaton there is no way we are winning the division.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got swept. That pitching staff gives us fits and their offense just seems to do enough against us. I also wouldn't be surprised if we swept them in a bunch of 3-2 types of games. Should be a fun series and hopefully our bats come through when the opportunities arise.

Yep. We knew coming into this game that lineup wasn't going to get the job done. However, our big time bullpen had another chance to close a game out and blew it. Our high priced closer could have gotten away with anything but a homer and then proceeds to give up a homer.

It's not because of injuries. It is because Moncada, Leury, and Vaughn aren't slugging like we need them to. Anderson and Eloy are out and Yermin has replaced Eloy's bat. So that leaves Anderson's bat as the one missing.

We finished last year 3 and 10. If this lingers for another few weeks we are in trouble because this is the easier part of the schedule.

But Vaughn is our big young gun that caused us not to sign a quality DH. No excuses.

You can't even blame the Eloy loss because Yermin has filled in for him nicely.

Because there is no reason not to give Lynn a reasonable short term deal while contracts are low on the roster. Especially if he is pitching like a 2nd ace.

Based on TLR's press conferences I think his lineups are set days in advance without looking at matchups. Which is why he tells us things like Vaughn will play Saturday, Nick will play Thursday.

Tim Anderson got a lot of flack. He also wasn't praised as a future gold glove fixture and MVP caliber player. Nick is getting flack because it's been shoved down our throats that he will be a long term gold glove winner, elite baseball instincts, and very good speed. We have seen little of these attributes so far. He will definitely get better, but there is reason for concern.

There is no issue. Vaughn isn't in Beast mode yet and Yermin has hit well for a week. If things go according to plan we can begin to think about a conundrum in August.
