The Wainwright to the Cards Thread
SonofaRoache replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Cruz would only be here for one year and if he sucks we have Vaughn to call up. It's not that big of a risk if that money isn't being used on a quality pitcher SP anyway. -
The Wainwright to the Cards Thread

Nelson Cruz is worth it, let's be real there. At least he is truly one of the best hitters in baseball. Wainwright has been blah for years now. -

All the players Twins fans want are being signed. That is good news.

This is what we were talking about earlier today. The Sox would love Cruz on a one and one. -
Foodies: Sox/Giolito discussing an extension?????
SonofaRoache replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Again, it is about the effort necessary to win. I clearly said if they put forth their best effort to win then not winning even one title will not be their fault. Fans can hold them accountable for making those bold proclamations and then not doing what is necessary to see it through. Fans hold them accountable with their wallets and eyes. -

Vaughn being a bottom third 1B/DH would mean he is a bust. -

He said "the big one" not championships. -
Foodies: Sox/Giolito discussing an extension?????
SonofaRoache replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well, then maybe they shouldn't have put their balls on the table like that. You are correct, it is tough to win but that's not my point. My point is if you said multiple championships and you don't make every attempt to make that happen, you will be accountable. If you try your best to make it happen and it doesn't, nothing you can do about it. -

Hahn and the official White Sox twitter account mentioned multiple championships. That is the standard they will be held to, regardless of how long the window is open. -
Foodies: Sox/Giolito discussing an extension?????

To clarify, I meant getting a top pitcher in return, without the Moncada. I think a desperate team would definitely bite IF it came to that. -

Relax folks. Our FO knew the financial and talent situation last year. They will make sure this window is 5 years. If Kopech and Cease/Crochet develop we have a 1 and 2. Worst case you trade Gio a year early for a Sale like package for a top pitching prospect. No one wants this to happen but it is what it is. -

I think what he is saying is if Hector knows we will be happy in a few days, why would he retweet something that he himself believes won't happen. -
Anderson on the cover of RBI baseball 21

It is. That is why RBI baseball 20 looks like a real baseball game now lol. Funny how that worked. -

Eloy won't be playing DH next year, except for maybe a handful of games. -

Teams will have great players on them from time to time. We just don't want them to have too many great players. Detroit has sucked and has told picks, so naturally they will be able to draft an ace and a cornerstone everyday player. -

If Vaughn played for another team I'd agree with this. Our players always need time to develop and don't come up mashing right away. Eloy turned a corner that September. Robert started hot and then went south for a while. Moncada struggled to find his way. Gio had the worst ERA amongst qualified starters. Cease was bad overall. Kopech pitched well but got hurt. Timmy took a little bit of time to get this good, although he was decent offensively. -

I'm sure Cruz's target is two years. I'm also sure the Sox aren't providing him a second year guaranteed. Not saying he will get a second year, but 1 year deals aren't going away for him. He will probably go to the team with that second year. -

Eaton isn't special or even very good at this point. But he isna good overall baseball player which is what we need. He played well in the 2019 post season and had some very big hits and bombs that year. If he is motivated and healthy, he will be a good player for us. -
Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
SonofaRoache replied to fathom's topic in The Diamond Club
What doesn't make sense about what Hector Gomez said is the timing. He said we'd get good news in a few days. If it is indeed about Cruz, is this even reasonable? Why would Cruz start making this decision before having a concrete idea about the NL DH and seeing where his true value is? Cruz may have said he'd love to play for the Sox if possible, but I'm not sure how any deal could have been close at this point. -

Yep but cheaper. If you sign Cruz you gotta go cheaper in SP. Well you don't have to, but we will.
