  1. It is hard to have pitching depth when you have so many injuries.
  2. Boston is probably the best team in baseball right now and we are one of the worst. Having acknowledged that, it was a shame to see us getting blown out a couple of times at home in front of nice crowds.
  3. On a positive note, McCann still looks good at the plate, a pleasant surprise so far this season. Reylo looked like he was a few mistakes away from a decent outing. Tim Anderson made some great plays. If we split the 4 game series with the heavily favored World champs I will be happy. Let's win another one tomorrow.
  4. This game looks over but still two more games with a chance to split series.
  5. Vaughn would be another Nothing (Jake) Burgur or another Zack Collins.
  6. Nicky D's home run swing and reaction made me think of Pods walk-off in Game 2. Thrilling shit my friends. Pods Game 2 walk off
  7. FuckinAright Noticed some cubz fans at the park wearing BoSox hats.
  8. Another week of cold, wet weather which probably has hurt our pitchers more than our hitters. Will Gio's breaking stuff break like it does in warmer, dryer conditions? And no doubt about it, this awful weather has hurt attendance in April. Maybe put a retractable dome on the stadium or play most of the April schedule at stadiums located in warmer climates.
  9. 2 games under .500 and in third place. I am not giving up on the season yet.
  10. His last surgery seems more like it was exploratory in nature rather than reconstructive, like Tommy John surgery. Maybe they could not find what was wrong and repair whatever the problem was. I don't know.... This feels like it might be the beginning of the end for Rodon's pitching career.
  11. Too many close losses to stomach so early in the season.
  12. We can't rely on the same relievers to shut a team down every game, especially middle relievers and set-up guys. Maybe the Sox can bolster the bullpen with a few upgrades. Similarly, we can't rely on the same guys to get two or three hits and put us over the top every game. We need Eloy back and Robert to come up with him. That might change the offensive dynamic in close games like this.
  13. If Eloy comes back in 2-4 weeks with Robert and we are within striking distance of .500, then a wild card play-off bid would not be entirely out of the question. OT: The real Baltimore Orioles arrived on my lot and in the Chicago area today. Cut some oranges in half and put them outside and some grape jelly. Then watch the Sox win two today.
  14. Robert has already demonstrated transcendent talent. He is an exception to the standard practice of promoting minor league players one level at a time. Adam Engel hit .218 in 165 AB at AAA Charlotte in 2017. He's hitting .171 now after 41 ABs with 17 SOs. I don't see how it makes sense to have Engel on the big league club and Luis Robert playing in the minors. Robert can develop at the major league level, just like TA and Moncada did.
  15. Eloy made some nice plays in Right Field in the minors. We stole him from the Cubz. That may be the worst trade Epstein has ever done since he was in Boston. Thank you! I hope Eloy watches his weight and stays in shape. If he does, he will be in our outfield for years to come. Eloy and Luis Robert...what a great tandem in the outfield.
  16. Cordell will get a good cut on one of these pitches. I love his sweeping swing.
