  1. Seems like Shields has thrown a lot of pitches considering how easy it's been out there on the mound for him.
  2. Our pen has the potential to be good enough, but potential is the key word. Bullpens are so up and down, unpredictable. Just look at our bullpen this year. If it would have performed half as well as it did for the first month of the season since then, we might still be in first place.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) Rick Hahn seems like such a nice guy. I don't want to hate him. I don't blame him because I still think Kenny is having a say behind the scenes. I want to see an unchained Hahn.
  4. The starting pitching has been very good since the all-star break. They've been keeping us in almost every game.
  5. Wow, made our guys look silly. Btw the atmosphere at these games has been so awesome. Our fans are SO ready for some meaningful/playoff games, just look at them! It's a far cry from 2 years ago when this rivalry hit rock bottom. I wish the Sox would give us what we want.
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) Maybe my memory is off but I thought they had been playing better on the road this year compared to home Edit: incorrect 4 over at home 5 under on the road They were playing fine on the road until the recent West Coast swing. Hopefully that was just an aberration. Without having the stats to back it up, I think they have been a decent road team over the past couple of years despite playing bad at home.
  7. I just can't get behind the double standard being made for professional athletes by some here. If any of us acted the way Chris Sale did, we would be out of a job in a heartbeat and possibly arrested. Its a sad indictment on society that so many people are OK or understanding of what Sale did just because he is a star player. He is paid millions of dollars to go out there and pitch every 5 days, and wearing a special promotional jersey is a small request in the big scheme of things, especially when there is 0 evidence to suggest that the jersey was somehow going to risk injuring him.
  8. We're ahead of the Royals now, somehow...
  9. What is the bullpen ERA since the infamous Texas meltdown? It has to be the highest in baseball.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:17 PM) Too late to get fair market value. Let's try a new manager and staff. See above post. Is that going to make Matt Albers a good pitcher? Bring back Abreau's power? Etc.? Robin is awful and needs to go but this bullpen as constructed blows.
  11. This guy has no clue. SHUT YOUR MOUTH. I mean come on, he hasn't even been pitching all that well the past two months. Suck it up and wear the damn uniform dude. I really hope he is traded now. He has absolutely no self awareness... getting paid millions of dollars to pitch ~30~ times a year and he's whining about it.
  12. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) What did he say? "Robin is the one who has to fight for us in that department," Sale said. "If the players don't feel comfortable 100 percent about what we are doing to win the game, and we have an easy fix -- it was as easy as hanging up another jersey and everyone was fine. For them to put business first over winning, that's when I lost it." Yeah. Please trade this guy, he's out of line... again. He voiced his complaints, and the management decided they were going ahead with wearing the uniforms. GMAFB that these uniforms were going to prevent him from pitching well. What was his excuse in the Atlanta game?
  13. Nothing I love more than beating the Cubs. If we're not going to the playoffs, sweeping this series will be the next best thing,
  14. Chris Sale will go down in history as one of the greatest White Sox pitchers, but geez everything I hear about the guy makes him seem like such a jerk. I can't bring myself to root for him.
  15. What a dilemma. On the one hand I want to kill the Cubs this week and wipe the smug looks off all the Cubs fans faces, but on the other hand if we do that Im afraid the stupid management will decide to stand pat or even buy.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 02:12 AM) How can you back his "boss" and this organization over Chris Sale? Seriously. Think what you are saying here. What are you on? How can I back the organization for benching a guy who went psycho and destroyed the team's uniforms before a game because he didn't want to wear them? Gee, I dont know. What universe are you from where that is EVER acceptable?? Jesus, this is a grown man we are talking about, not a 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum. I think the management should have been gone yesterday, but Ill be damned if I take the side of a player, no matter how good, who disrespects my favorite team in the way he did. I'm a White Sox fan, not a Chris Sale fan. He let down the fans who came out to see him pitch today, the fans who came to see the throwback jerseys which he selfishly destroyed, and his teammates (especially the relievers) who had to pick up the slack for him. If you love Chris Sale that much over this organization, then follow him to his next team. Im pissed at how awful theyve been over the last decade, but Im not gonna do that.
  17. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:55 PM) No offense dude, you can call out Sale for being immature and hot-headed, but don't question his loyalty. He's been awesome to his teammates, our fanbase, and the organization. Just because he doesn't see eye to eye with KW at times doesn't mean he's not a loyal dude. It's pretty sad this incident is going to cause some Sox fans to change their perspective on him. Sorry dude, don't see where he's gone above and beyond to demonstrate some kind of loyalty that in any way justifies this. He's been loyal to certain players (Laroche) and lashed out at management, but I dont see how he's been any more "loyal" than countless other Sox that have passed thru. He's now been in the middle of two ridiculous debacles this season that he has directly inserted himself into. Agree to disagree. I am devastated to see it come to this. He is one of the best pitchers in Sox history, and it kills me that he will be wasted like this.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:47 PM) What he did to the jerseys was stupid. Having him not pitch because of it is more stupid. Totally disagree. If he did what was reported, he is out of his mind. NO WAY that would be tolerated in any other profession, sports or otherwise. Can you imagine a well run org like the Hawks tolerating that? Hell even the Bears. He was way out of line and he's lucky the Sox even tried to cover for his a**
