Maybe Im way off kilter but we all know a lot of cub fans despise us and are elated that we may move from the area, but dont they realize that having 2 competing MLB teams in Chicago actually helps them? If one team leaves it hardly incentives the other team to field a competitive team. OTOH its the cubs and they rule the roost in Chicago regardless
I assume MLB owners would have to agree on a geographical move by a majority correct? And like what is pointed out earlier, Nashville is close to Atlanta so would JR or new owner have to agree on some kind of indemnification package to Atlanta? All this seems unlikely
If if wasnt for the cubs, Chicago be a city of losers between us, Hawks, Bears and Bulls. It saddens me to say that, I know 100 miles to the west of Chicago, the cubs are the talk of the area and the Sox? An afterthought
Hmmm going back to the orginal name of thread, lets see .500 team last yr and 26 games under to date
Id say drastic changes are needed, dont ya think???
Every time Ive written to Brooks, Ive gotten a reply, hes even donated Sox items to a charity here in Freeport. But I voiced my displeasure (very diplomatically) about 2 wks ago but have received no reply this time. Wonder why? Too busy deflecting blame?
I was stationed in Europe for a while where they maintian thier buildings for a long time, compare that with the disposable staduims and parks these days. Yr spot on we need a new team
I remember when my neice was about 14, she looked and somewhat acted 18 or 19. I remarked to my brother asking him if he was ready to the onsllaught of boys calling or stopping over at his house chasing her. He just looked pissed and I dropped the subject, but soon after his phone was ringing......
