  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) I still do not know how this offense is so woefully bad. We have a lot of s***ty hitters and no really good ones.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) #WhiteSox’s desire to get quality return AND have trade partner assume nearly $24M left on Peavy’s contract remains significant obstacle. Obviously we have no idea what has been offered, what reports are true, etc. but if the sticking point on a Peavy trade is the Sox not picking up some of his salary they are being incredibly short sighted by not doing a deal.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) Exactly. This shouldn't be surprising. Derrick has never made his own decisions.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 06:41 AM) Since it's a Man of Steel sequel..."Yawn". There is literally nothing about a Batman/Superman team-up that appeals to me. Basically Batman brings absolutely nothing to the table in such a situation unless you use the kryptonite crutch.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 03:34 PM) I just dont get kids that are fine tuned athletes drinking. I would stay in and enjoy my path to millions. It isn't like it is difficult to avoid getting into trouble while still going out, drinking and having a good time. Plenty of athletes and college students do it.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) Charlie Weis cut a good line today at Media Day. Asked how he has managed to sign some decent recruits at horrific football program Kansas, he said something to the effect of: "they want to play. I tell them, 'Have you seen that pile of crap' out there? (on field for Kansas).'" Not bad in this day and age of P.C. Was he talking about his coaching when he referred to the pile of crap out there?
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 01:54 AM) The Lone Ranger, White House Down, Oblivion and After Earth would tend to agree with you...with only World War Z barely breaking through well enough to launch a sequel. But if you've watched Pan's Labyrinth, you'll have reason enough to understand why this director is worth checking out...to me, he's much more talented than Zach Snyder, Michael Bay, Emmerich, etc. Despicable Me 2 was disappointing, and Grown-Ups 2 hasn't even been released to critics. AND NOW WE KNOW WHY. Critic Reviews for Grown Ups 2 All Critics (7) | Top Critics (3) | My Critics | Fresh (0) | Rotten (7) Yes, it's time for another visit to the Adam Sandler Death-of-Cinema Fun Factory, the big-screen version of a terrible sitcom where laugh tracks are replaced by the co-stars chuckling at their own awful material. Throughout, gags are cartoonishly broad and afforded so little time for setup and delivery we seem to be watching less a story than a catalog of tossed-out material. A phoned-in ode to lazy comedy and staggering stupidity. Almost aggressively more of the same. If you hated the last one, you'll be in misery all over again. If you took to the predecessor, you'll find this one a fitting continuation. The most horrifying depiction of inhuman behavior since That's My Boy. Or maybe Jack & Jill. Or maybe Blue Velvet. Another lowbrow make-work project for Sandler's jock cronies, SNL has-been hangers-on and Dan Patrick. Anyone who pays to see that movie shouldn't be allowed to breed.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22877...uit-Falls-Short WTF - The Bulls were the frontrunners from Monta? Get the f*** back on the phone GAR/PAX. Figure out a way...pay the f***ing tax. Monte is an excellent fit for this squad (assuming he can play within the offense and Thibs can teach him some defense). He should really allow the Bulls offense to spread out and I'd anticipate he'd get a lot of open jumpers with Rose. He could also get some minutes at the back up point and gives the Bulls two solid ball handlers. Wonder who the Bulls were trying to trade? I assume Hinrich would have been involved. Ellis a good player but he is a bad jump shooter. He would not help the Bulls with spacing when he is in the game with Rose.
  9. Probably the wrong place to put this but ESPN has been airing a really good video of military returning home to their families today. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9438508
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) Oh, then I'm an assbag, missed the now very funny joke, and absolutely apologize to JCM. This. I never saw that post and that makes more sense.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 09:39 AM) Yes. Absolutely hilarious that your friend vomited on some poor woman. Seriously, how is that hilarious? What are you, 14? Agreed. It is absolutely hilarious to ruin other people's days because you have no self control and can't hold your alcohol. Hilarious.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 08:06 AM) As of right now I believe we have the #3 pick, earliest I can remember in years The only time the Sox have picked in the top 10 since 1990 was #8 in 2008 when they drafted Beckham.
  13. Interesting how much less reliable twitter has been for the NBA draft than the NFL draft where I felt like trades were accurately reported instantly.
  14. The Patriots briefly employed Tim Tebow, Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez at the same time. Or as they're known, Marry, F**k, Kill. — Joe Sheehan (@joe_sheehan) June 26, 2013
  15. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 02:21 PM) Is there any hope of Teague making a Butler like jump? Probably not. In limited playing time as a rookie Butler at least showed signs and flashes of being a decent NBA player. Marquis Teague was horrendous basically every time he stepped on the floor last year.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 11:23 AM) Loses 2nd set. Uh oh Down a break right off the bat in the 3rd set as well.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) I missed it, what did he do? Rios was in position to make the catch, looks like De Aza calls him off and of course neither catches it resulting in a "triple."
  18. That sucks for Jesse. That clearly should not be considered a triple.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Alexander's Top 10 in no order: Kansas, MSU, Kentucky, Illinois, Arizona, Baylor, Louisville, DePaul, Indiana, Mamphis. 10 seems a tad much. I'd guess MSU, Illinois, or Kansas. I'd put Kentucky in there with MSU, Kansas and Illinois.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 11:49 PM) Wade is one HGH revelation away from being a reliable player in the playoffs again. Wouldn't be surprised if he takes a trip to Germany to see Kobe's doctor this offseason.
  21. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 11:02 PM) So, if the Spurs want it, they can get up to about $20 million in cap space. Paul Millsap and a PG off the bench, or flush it down the toilet on Splitter and a farewell gift for Manu? That is really interesting. They can retool this roster and be a title contender again next year if they spend it right.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 11:00 PM) He benched Parker and Duncan to start the fourth quarter. The same exact decision that already cost them a championship in game 6. Benching Duncan and Parker together at all is laughably dumb. Then he inexplicably takes Parker out on the last meaningful possession while drawing up a give and go for Ginobli. Just terrible. Ginobili and Leonard missing free throws cost them a championship in game 6 and Duncan was out for about 30 seconds in the 4th quarter tonight.
  23. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 10:52 PM) Completely disagree with the Pop criticism tonight. Game 6? Yes. Tonight I'm not sure what else he could have done. Players gotta play Agreed. This game came down to LeBron making jump shots and putting in an incredible performance while Green, Parker and Ginobili all struggled.
