  1. Stewart is garbage. Hopefully we don't see him pitch again this year.
  2. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) I have no idea how anyone defends Zach Stewart. I just cannot fathom it. He is terrible. We really need Danks to come back so we can send Stewart down and banish Humber from the rotation.
  3. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) That hype thing was just something i threw out there, not what i based my belief off of -ACC Rookie of the year -Freshman All American -Most points in an Ncaa tourney by a UNC freshman in nearly 35 years -High School Player of the year -2010 and 11 preseason All American thats what my belief is based off of and I said he'll be better than Deng for the rest of his career...I think Deng is only a 15 PPG guy the rest of the way, I can see Barnes being what Deng was a few years ago 17+ ppg Take a look at what Deng did his freshman year of college. And did you happen to watch the NCAA tournament this year where Harrison Barnes was completely incapable of getting a decent look at the basket without Kendall Marshall setting him up. It was scary how pathetic he was trying to take players off the dribble or creating anything for himself.
  4. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 04:16 PM) IMO Barnes will be better than Deng for the rest of his career... I remember when he first came into UNC he was being hyped as a Lebron type prospect. Anybody who compared him to LeBron should be shot. The hype he got wasn't any higher than any other #1 player in the country. Luol Deng was the consensus #2 player in the country coming out of high school behind LeBron. Basing your belief that he will be better than Deng on his high school hype is unbelievably stupid.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 11:35 AM) looking at his splits, he is wretched in April, May, August and September. He has his worst winning percentage, gives up his most homeruns, his era is high, he gives up a lot of hits. So basically you cannot count on him at the beginning or end of a season. And this stat is fun. When the offense scores 0-2 runs, he is 5-39, with a 4.02 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP When the offense scores 3-5 runs, he is 20-17, with a 3.87 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP When the offense scores 6+ runs, he is 32-4, with a 4.57 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP So you cannot count on him in low scoring games. And even in high scoring games that he wins a lot, he gives up a lot of runs. Take a look at Buehrle's stats in those same situations.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Not as athletic as Noah either, pass. Actually, his measurements at the combine were basically as good as any big man ever. Too bad he is an absolutely garbage basketball player and doesn't use his athleticism at all on the court.
  7. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) He scored 20 points on 18.6 shots that year, after 22.9 on 22.1 shots. He was a horribly inefficient chucker at that point in his career, which was depressing to see. Obviously he still had more ability than your average 2-guard. Not saying he was great, but he is basically played at the same level Monta Ellis did this year at age 40. That is a pretty high level IMO, especially given the awful talent around him and certainly not a level play that in any way hurts his legacy or is indicative of the fact that he shouldn't have come back.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) Oh, the Jordan Wizards days. His "sick" was 9/24 from the field. He shouldn't have come back, but oh well. Jordan shot the same percentage from the field his last year with the Wizards as Rose did in his MVP season last year and actually shot a higher percentage from the field than Rose did this year. He still played at a pretty high level for the Wizards.
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 11:26 PM) The Heat got the benefit of swing fouls/calls. The BS goaltending call in the first half. It was a 8 point game with OKC making a run. Bad call makes it a 10pt game and leads to a big run by Miami. The horrible call against Fisher on Wade when Wade falls to the ground and the refs call Fisher for a foul with 2 seconds on the shot clock. That play happens every game with no whistle. Miami scores on that possession. And we all know about final Durant shot. Fisher also clearly grabbed Wade's arm on that play which is the main reason Wade fell to the ground.
  10. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) Whatever. The fouls were basically even, so were the free throws. They might have had a couple of calls, but another ref might have fouled out Durant with over 3 minutes to go too on that charge/block. The Thunder shot more free throws than the Heat in a game where 1/3 of their shots were threes. I'm not getting the whining about the officials at all tonight.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) Lebron faces an immediate double in the post and he doesnt have a huge size advantage against OKC. He was getting double teamed in the post and they had a big man ready to help every time he drove to the basket. Miami's spacing was brutal tonight and Bosh and Wade shooting horribly makes it really tough for him to have space to operate.
  12. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) I dont care what the spineless writer is trying to do to make people who didn't get the movie hate him less, I only go by what I see in the movie. I'm not a huge fan of Lindelof (although he is very creative) but I haven't seen him shy away from criticism in the past. In fact, he has basically flat out stated he doesn't care if someone doesn't like the Lost ending because he wrote the ending he wanted. It is far more likely that Lindelof's stated reason is true then he gave an interview giving an explanation to appease people who weren't happy with the movie. And please do explain what I didn't get about the movie. The themes of the movie, where do we come from, what makes us human (explored and dealt with much better in Blade Runner fwiw), why are we are here, god v. science, are all interesting themes but they aren't dealt with in a meaningful or profound way. Instead, the movie raises questions it never answers and has characters that consistently take actions that are either illogical or for which we can see no motive for the sole purpose of progressing the plot.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:11 AM) Also, it's a pretty good explanation of David's motivations. He was built as a tester, he asks Holloway if he's willing to do anything to learn more prior to putting the black stuff in his drink. That was permission. I think this movie is being shredded by people who aren't really thinking it through. There might be one or two "huh?" moments, but beyond that the movie explained things rather well. Except that this isn't correct according to Damon Lindelof who has indicated in an interview that Weyland directed David to spike the drink which would make absolutely no sense given that they have no idea what the liquid is.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) Hey, whitesoxfan99, have you actually seen the movie? Yes and I posted in this thread already.

  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) Man that ending pissed me off.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 12:40 PM) Since that pathetic loss to Indianapolis, LeBron is averaging 33.3ppg, 11.1rpg, 5.1apg, 1.1 3pg, 1.2bpg, 1.4spg over his last 10. He's at 30.8, 9.6, 5.1, 1.2, 0.8, 1.9 for the playoffs - 18 games. What a disappointment. What a choker. Last year? Ok, dog the guy. This year? You just can't. And even last year you can really only criticize him for the finals. He was fantastic against the Bulls and Celtics which makes it even more bizarre that he deferred so much to Wade in the NBA finals.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 11:37 AM) I haven't had much time to get into video games again until recently and I just finished Mass Effect 3 after getting through half of it a few months ago. That was the worst ending ever and Casey Hudson should be launched into space forever. Christ that was terrible. The other 99.99% of the game was amazing. I really enjoyed the rest of the game minus the ending but it was still pretty flawed (i.e. but those were all things I could have overlooked if the ending wasn't as bad as it was. I actually question the intelligence of anyone who likes the ending.
  19. I guess I am in the minority in not really caring for Prometheus. I wanted to like it and it had some interesting concepts but I felt like it completely failed to deliver on its promise. The movie had too many plot holes for me to get past and the characters were woefully underdeveloped, particularly David. I am fine with a movie not spelling everything out for the audience but Lindelof's writing style of answering basically nothing annoys the hell out of me.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) Wow. That '99 season was so garbage I just pretend it never happened (lol@Malone winning the mvp). Well, both players were well past their primes by that point. Ewing was injured and didn't play in the finals.
  21. Dwayne Wade is killing the Heat. It is almost like he wasn't happy with all the attention Lebron was getting after game 6. Way too much running the offense through Wade tonight for the Heat.
  22. I'm surprised when Gavin goes an inning without giving up a run at this point.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) If they lose this series, I have to assume Spoelstra gets sh*tcanned. He should get fired. He is an absolutely terrible basketball coach.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 10:43 PM) Ugh I hate cheering for Boston but yay! I'm not, I actually dislike Boston more than Miami.
  25. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 10:27 PM) Meh, he was doubled and fading, it would have been a stupid shot if he'd taken it. Then again, Kobe takes a ton of those and everyone thinks he's super-clutch. Agree with this. He made the right play but the pass got deflected by Dooling or else Haslem gets a wide open look to win the game. Kobe would have shot that and missed horribly.
