  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) The argument is awful. There is the anecdotal evidence of multiple writers and the statistics back it up. Unless someone has actual evidence, the only thing faulty here is people's memories. A quick review of those statistics shows that his shooting% and efficiency against the Pistons isn't out of line with his career numbers. So it is entirely possible if not likely that the drop in scoring is related more to the pace of the game than having a "Wade stopper" particularly since Detroit was always one of the teams with the fewest possessions per game in the NBA.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) Ive had disagreements with J4L, but you guys really are using meaningless stats here to try and argue. Did you know Hamilton is a Lebron stopper? http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-i...mp;p2=hamilri01 Lebron only scored 23.6 per game against Hamilton. What about Kobe, did you know Hamilton stops him too? http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-i...mp;p2=hamilri01 And Yao: http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-i...mp;p2=hamilri01 So what is more likely, Hamilton is secretly one of the top defenders, or he played on a good defensive team that held players below their average? Not to mention that Tayshaun Prince would generally get the defensive assignment on the opposing teams top perimeter scorer. I know he was the one guarding LeBron and Kobe and I'm sure he saw a lot of time on Wade as well.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Ouch, Hoosiers. Looking ahead to Illini? Illinois doesn't play Indiana for like a month so I doubt it. They are bad defensively and until that changes they are going to let teams hang around.
  4. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) Maybe not, but Duke did the same thing at OSU. I saw this coming. Indiana won't have a problem with Illinois. Indiana is the worst defensive team in the conference right now. They are going to struggle with everybody unless that changes. They need to shoot 60+% from three to beat Michigan by 2 at home and needed to do the same to beat PSU by only 6.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) That's an excellent way to put it Definitely fair officiating both ways tonight. Wish more games were officiated like this in the Big 10 actually. Makes for much more fluid games.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) Why do you say Rodgers was no where near Luck? Rodgers had QB rating of 154 and 66% pct completion, Luck had a QB rating of 160.7 with a 70% completion rating. Statistically Luck isnt even the best QB in this draft, that would be RG III or Russel Wilson, who both sport better QB ratings (both broke the all time NCAA record, Wilson with rating of 191.2 and RG III with 189.5). Seriously, who the f*** cares about college QB rating when evaluating QB prospects?
  7. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) Not that +/- means much, but Carlos Boozer is -40. That's just impressive. He sucks. One of the worst defensive players in the NBA.
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) Still not seeing how Cole's catch at the end was overturned. That was absolutely a catch. There certainly wasn't enough to overturn it from the views they showed on TV. Also, the Michigan kicker false started on the GW field goal attempt.
  9. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 09:49 PM) I don't care how good of a shooter he is. He showed no urgency with the shot clock winding down and then took a fairly poor shot. Meh good guards are going to make that pretty often. Sampson was retreating and didn't contest it and Paul dribbled it to the 3 point line in rhythm.
  10. LOL at the refs not calling that foul on Minnesota. Leonard got ridiculously hacked going to the basket. I'm pretty apathetic because if we continue to suck Weber is gone but that is f***ing ridiculous that that wasn't called.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) Cause with Mizzou still in the bonus, you hope to foul someone other than Dixon and get them to miss the front end. With Illinois not in the bonus, it would have been nearly impossible for Illinois to get a 3 pointer off to tie. It wouldn't have been hard at all to get a 3 off. Missouri only had one foul to give and teams suck at executing that especially not coming out of a timeout. If Leonard had any concept of how to play help defense he blocks that shot by Pressey easily and Illinois has a chance to tie. I probably foul to extend the game but I didn't have a real issue with playing it out either. Paul played really well for 38 minutes and then fell apart at the end and that is what lost the game.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 03:07 PM) You really want the McCown show? Or the McNabb show? I have little doubt that McNabb would have played better than Hanie over the last 4 games.
  13. Knox is just a bad football player. I know he makes big plays at times but he just absolutely kills you a lot of the time.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) He's an insanely good QB. I'm sorry he doesn't meet the Aaron Rodgers approved level of insanity, but Cutler is a top 5 QB if he can ever stay healthy. He is very good and was playing at close to a pro bowl level this year but it debatable whether he is a top 5 QB. I think everyone will agree that Rodgers, Brady and Brees are the top 3 and then there are probably about 7 or 8 QBs you can make a case for as being the next best.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) It happens because Lovie decided to try the kneeldown offense with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter because they dont trust Hanie enough to throw the ball. f***ing ridiculous, I didnt think the Bears were going to win any playoff games, but the last three losses have been an absolute embarrassment The kneeldown offense works if Marion Barber isn't a f***ing moron who should be cut for his stupidity.
  16. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) how did Tebow go from 3-16 to finishing 18-36? Did the Bears play prevent or something? Yes. Nearly every one of those throws was to someone wide open underneath.
  17. So Tebow can't complete a pass the entire game and the Bears decide it is a good idea to start using 10 yard cushions and not covering the running back and give up 10 yard gains every play. Brilliant. And even with the stupid defensive play calling if Marion Barber doesn't have one of the greatest choke jobs in sports history the Bears still win.
  18. Cut Marion Barber. I'm rooting against the Bears the rest of the year.
  19. I don't really believe in god, but if there has ever been evidence of its existence this is it.
