  1. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 06:31 PM) I'm going to go the other way on that. This is the 4th Gonzaga game I've watched and this game was the worst they've looked by far in my opinion.....and could've still easily won it. Only December though, a lot can happen for both teams. How could they have easily won it? Illinois was in control the entire 2nd half even with every one of their big men being in foul trouble.
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) If they do, that's a pretty clear indication that a good portion of the bowls need to be abolished. Illinois will be playing in a bowl. There are 70 bowl spots and there will be at most 75 bowl eligible teams. Illinois is a better and more desirable team than a lot of those available to the lower tier bowls. And btw, I agree that there are too many bowls. It is ridiculous that well over half the FBS teams play in bowl games.
  3. When are people going to start giving the Broncos defense some credit? They have played incredible football lately.
  4. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 27, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Locksley wouldn't be a legit candidate would he? I would feel terrible for you guys if he was hired. He was an absolute joke at UNM, with the inmates running the poorly run asylum. LOL, not a chance in f***ing hell.
  5. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 11:45 PM) Take solace in the fact that my school was the only FBS team to not beat another FBS team. All Illinois fans should also take solace with the fact that the collapse allows us to get rid of a terrible football coach.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 12:07 AM) You lose at home and you don't deserve to play the same team again for the National Championship, the end. You lose to Iowa St. you don't deserve to play for the national championship, the end. You lose by 20 at home and don't run the table in the garbage ACC you don't deserve to play for the national championship, the end. You aren't even remotely competitive and get house by Oregon at home you don't deserve to play for the national championship, the end.
  7. The gap between LSU and Alabama and the rest of the country is just massive this year. No one else is capable of playing with those two teams.
  8. LOL at Oklahoma. Don't call timeouts when the other team is willing to go into OT.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) So if you could change an aspect of their team they might win 9 games? This Illinois team isnt a 10 win team. They had a chance to go to a very good bowl with their schedule, defense and the state of the conference, but it didnt work out. The biggest aspect of the team that needs to be changed is the head coach. He is awful. If we can find a solid head coach while also keeping Koenning that would be ideal.
  10. Here is the Illinois football I grew to love over the last month. Special teams gaffes and turnovers all over the place giving the opposing teams short fields at all times.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) You really dont believe that do you? That would make them one of 4 teams in Illinois history to win 10 games. Do you think they are that good? The defense is that good and the talent and schedule was there to do it.
  12. LOL at not calling Wisconsin for a clear pick on their touchdown when they called Illinois for two much more questionable picks (one was a TE pretty much running right down the field the other there was basically no contact).
  13. The Big 10 must want Wisconsin in the championship game with those two offensive pass interference calls that just went against Illinois. Both absurd calls.
  14. LOL at that offensive pass interference call on Illinois. Ridiculous
  15. Run into the endzone and take the safety you f***ing moron punter. Nothing like destroying Wisconsin for an entire half only to have your punter f*** up and spot Wisconsin 7 pts.
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 02:06 AM) We've already seen both those games. And one of them lost at home, so if anything, let Oregon take it since it was week 1 on a neutral field. Bring on someone else, sorry you had your chance Bama. I wish Okla had Broyles, I'd take that game. So give the team that got their asses kicked the rematch over the team that outplayed LSU and lost in overtime. Got it.
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 12:53 AM) The point of a title game is to decide who the best team is in the country. If it's LSU/Bama and Bama wins, it's a sham. It makes plenty of sense. Besides, we are all talking about this stuff as it stands. It will change plenty. Meh, you could make the same argument if there was a playoff and Bama met LSU on a neutral field and Bama won.
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 12:04 AM) Owned, b****. No no no no no no no no no no no no LSU/Alabama rematch. That game has already been played, and the home team lost. Someone else. Anyone else. Oregon already got destroyed by LSU on a neutral field. I'd much rather see LSU/Alabama again than LSU/Oregon again and both Oregon and Bama are much more deserving than Oklahoma St./Oklahoma.
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 19, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) Can't do it. I refuse to let a team that didn't win their division go to the title game (and yes I realize it happened before, how did that turn out?). Hopefully Arkansas beats LSU and we can all just s*** the bed over this season. So because the best team in the country is in their division they shouldn't be able to go to the title game even if they are second best team. And even if the 3rd ranked team got their asses kicked and were never even remotely competitive with the #1 team and the #2 team outplayed the #1 team. That makes a ton of sense.
  20. So if ISU pulls this off (still a big if) and LSU and Alabama win out, there has to be a rematch of those two teams in the title game right? I don't know how you would possibly make the case for anyone else over Bama.
  21. Also, John Elway looked legitimately pissed when the Broncos scored the go ahead touchdown. This is actually a bad thing for their franchise long term. You can't sustain an offense with a QB who can't make a single NFL throw.
