  1. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 22, 2011 -> 11:32 PM) No doubt at all. Let them play on the 5th and then for the SEC title in December and if its 1-1 then let them play in the title game too. Also, what the hell was Tuberville thinking just then? Up 31-17 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd, 4th and 3 from their own 45ish and he runs a fake punt?? Of course TTU gets stopped and it looks like OU is going to get within a score. Idiotic. They can't play for the SEC title because they are both in the same division.
  2. Is there any doubt that LSU and Alabama are the best two teams in the country? I don't even think there is a close third.
  3. And Wisconsin loses on a hail mary. Holy s*** that was f***ing awesome.
  4. Nichol was definitely in the end zone there. Will be interesting to see what they call.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 22, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) For the 2nd straight week, Illinois had negative punt return yards. With special teams, it's funny being a Bears & Illini fan. Bears obviously have Devin Hester, but Lovie has always stressed special teams and they have always done well. On the other hand, you have Ron Zook's special teams units. Devin Hester would have no prayer of being successful on punt or kick returns if he played for Illinois. They block nobody. Lankford isn't good back there but he is constantly surrounded by 5 guys when he catches the ball and there are never any lanes at all on kick return.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 22, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) Seriously Illinois? Jesus. Ron. Zook.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 22, 2011 -> 01:29 PM) I'm glad they start playing with a sense of urgency starting in the 4th. Down three td's, prolly want to play quicker starting oh I dunno the 3rd. They still aren't playing with a sense of urgency. They are running off 20+ seconds of the play clock before every play and they did the same thing last week. The best thing that could possibly happen for this team would be to fire Zook and bring in a real head coach while there is still a good amount of talent on the roster.
  8. Zook is such a p****. Down 21 and you have 4th and 3 from your opponents 38 and you punt. GTFO. Fire him now and don't let him come back to Champaign.
  9. I'd love to see Zook get fired regardless of how this game and the season ends up. He is just a bad football coach.
  10. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 06:38 AM) You should be able to blame someone for allowing Wisconsin to schedule every nonconference game at home. 8 home games vs 4 away? Come on That really isn't that uncommon in college football. Illinois had the same scheduling this year for what its worth. Wisconsin scheduling weak teams in their non-conference is a bigger deal than not playing away from home.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 06:00 PM) Ok. Two plays are all that mattered. Good game, see you boys on the hardwood. Jenkins had 8 catches for 80 yards. He wasn't shut down and he was being double teamed. I'm trying to figure out how anything in that game showed he wasn't special or that Roby shut him down in any sense of the word.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) LOL, what was dirty about it. He was about to get beat deep for a TD so he hit his guy out of bounds. Smart play by a freshman that completely backed up his talk in the papers. No he really didn't. He wasn't covering Jenkins on the play he had his interception and Jenkins was wide open on that play, that was just a brutal throw by Scheelhaase. And then of course he got killed by Jenkins on that deep route and if that is the NFL that is a 40 yard penalty (which it should be, that rule in college is ridiculous).
  13. Ron Zook is such a f***ing idiot. Also, Paul Petrino was brutal today. No idea why they were so conservative on offense today. Not going for it on the 4th and short in the first half and punting set the tone for the rest of the game on offense.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 03:39 PM) Pretty amazing to me that it's been almost 2 quarters and OSU has attempted one pass. Yet they're still winning Petrino's play calling has been brutal on offense and the entire game plan has been way too conservative.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) 2007 1 31 Greg Olsen Tight end Miami 2 62 Dan Bazuin Defensive End Central Michigan 3 93 Garrett Wolfe Running back Northern Illinois 3 94 Michael Okwo Linebacker Stanford 4 130 Josh Beekman Guard Boston College 5 167 Kevin Payne Strong Safety Louisiana-Monroe 5 168 Corey Graham Cornerback New Hampshire 7 221 Trumaine McBride Cornerback Ole Miss 7 241 Aaron Brant Offensive Tackle Iowa State It is literally impossible to do a worse job with 2nd and 3rd round picks than the Bears did that year.
  16. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) That's true, they hardly ever surprise the defense. I would also add that teams like GB and NO have some many weapons that the defense usually don't focus on Cobb or Sproles, making their plays more effective. We don't have that with the Bears. They also have offensive lines that don't consistently get blown up and commit penalties.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 11:04 PM) This is sarcastic, right? I just want to be sure. Nope. I don't think he is a special coach but the Bears have been fairly successful during his tenure here despite having very little offensive talent.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) Two reasons: 1) idiotic fans still think Lovie is a good coach 2) idiotic fans continue to go to games and don't hold ownership responsible for putting a s*** team on the field season after season. Zero accountability. Lucking into an NFC championship game = 3 year extension despite being terrible. I'd love to hear your argument as to why you don't consider Lovie a good coach because he clearly is. 56% winning percentage, two NFC championship game appearances and a Super Bowl appearance despite having terrible offensive personnel his entire tenure with the Bears.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) I'm with you here. This offense is amazingly bad. Cutler is a waste in this offense. I still can't believe that an organization can be stupid enough to trade for a franchise type quarterback and then do nothing at all to help him succeed.
  20. Wow, Nebraska comes back to tie it. Huge chokejob by OSU (albeit one aided by having to bring in one of the worst QBs in college football).
