  1. Josh Smith needs to have a coach tell him he isn't allowed to shoot 3s. What a stupid basketball player and Marvin Williams is one of the all time wort draft choices. Not because he is awful but because the pick made no sense at the time with the Hawks needing a PG and makes even less sense now with how good Paul and Williams became.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) Boozer looks a step slower than the step slow he's been. Rose is off to an awful start as well.
  3. QUOTE (b-Rye @ May 4, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) Hmmm Dodgers benched this guy in 2009, we trade 2 pitching prospects for him and have him starting and leading off for us. We then let Scotty Pods go (who sucked at defense, but who could atleast hit and steal bases.) You are the man Kenny Williams. Pods would been at 1/3 the cost and we'd have 2 more pitchers in AAA. I'm not going to defend Pierre because he sucks and I never wanted him on the Sox but Podsednik was also awful and if you haven't noticed Pods isn't even in the MLB right now which says a little bit about his talent. Pods was horrific on the basepaths during his last tenure with the White Sox (not this year Juan Pierre bad but truly dreadful). And the farthest I'll go to compliment Pods as a hitter is to say he wasn't terrible. The real culprit behind our awful LFs is that our manager likes awful left handed hitters with no power who have "speed" (even though they kill us on the base paths). Get rid of Ozzie and maybe we can get a real LF.
  4. This isn't directed at anyone here, but I am going to smack the next person I hear mention Rondo as one of the elite PGs along side Rose, Paul, Williams and Westbrook. He doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as any of those guys.
  5. QUOTE (Felix @ May 2, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) The Hawks take a lot of really stupid shots. Josh Smith and Crawford are the kings of that. Smith in particular should be going to the basket all the time but settles for a ton of jumpers. Nice to see Boozer not be completely worthless in that quarter btw.
  6. Aside from Eddie House, has a player playing as awful basketball as Carlos Boozer is right now ever talked so much s***? Great job by the bench and Deng in the first half they played terrific basketball.
  7. It is truly incredible how poor Boozer's defensive awareness is.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 05:28 PM) I called an audible at the theatre and saw it instead of Hanna. Fun action but the melodrama and acting is awful. Not too mention it was full of jackasses who don't know how to act in a theatre. I'm shocked that a movie starring Paul Walker and Vin Diesel had terrible acting.
  9. I'm sure this has been commented on but I still absolutely hate that the draft is spread out over 3 days. I loved when it was all day on Saturday. Also, ESPN has ruined some of the intrigue by showing the guys celebrating before the pick is announced. Takes away a lot of the drama and mystique of the draft.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 10:26 PM) Is that who he wanted them to take? Oh, and if the Lions find a way to get Bowers, that would be comical. It would be but they already have solid defensive ends and have some pretty big needs in the secondary at OL. Doubt they would take him but that would be tremendous value just like Fairley so you never know and if you have a healthy Bowers, Williams, KVB, Suh and Fairley your corners become a lot less important.
  11. Congratulations Liuget, not sure the 3-4 is the best fit for him but happy to see him go in the 1st round.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) Defend the pass by rushing the passer, I guess. I like that pick for the Lions in the sense that it will make their team better, but you have to get someone to protect Stafford and you need some people in the secondary that don't suck, don't you? Yes, but Fairley is a beast and when that type of talent falls to you at 13 I think it is generally a mistake to pass and you can usually find solid corners in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Beast Dts? Not so much.
  13. The Lions have the most talented pair of DTs in NFL history. Holy crap.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) I was mainly speaking on how much the scouts, fans etc crapped on him prior to the draft, yet Cam Newton who wasnt as successful and never had a year as good at Tebow did and has the same mechanical issues is a consensus #1 pick. This just simply isn't true. Newton had a higher QB rating this year than Tebow did in any of his three years as a starter (their passing numbers were very similar, but Newton did it with less weapons around him and from the games I watched without near as many shovel passes or one yard completions that his receivers then broke for TDs), and was a much more effective runner than Tebow was in any of Tebow's three years as a starter.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 11:13 AM) If the Bears don't draft O-Line with their top pick, I murder someone. I'd actually be fine with taking a DT if the value isn't there at OL at pick 29. They need to address the OL in the draft and FA but you also shouldn't reach just because you have a need.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) Ibaka is going to just continue to get better. He's showing nice development and the upside is there with his athletismism. The upside of that entire team is tremendous. Durant is 22, Ibaka is 21, Westbrook is 22, Harden is 21, and Perkins (assuming they keep him long term) is the elder statesman at 26. Out of the guys in their rotation only Collison and Nazr Mohammed are older than 26. Cole Aldrich and Mullens are looking like busts but if either of them can develop into a good center that team is set for a very long run at the top.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 07:03 PM) Sometime before I die a highly touted White Sox prospect will come up and dominate from day one. I'm thinking 2018. They didn't dominate but Konerko (if you count him as Sox prospect), Lee and Ordonez were all good pretty much right off the bat. Ordonez wasn't great his rookie year but was damn good from his 2nd year on.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) The Bulls need to improve and work in Boozer. The guy is a very very efficient offensive player and unfortunately, given the team wasn't able to practice with him and hasn't had a lot of time playing with both Noah and Boozer, they just haven't developed the appropriate offensive rhythm with Carlos. I expect him to play significantly better next year (from an offensive efficiency standpoint) and I still think they'll get him going better the rest of the postseason. Boozer is a guy who has produced pretty well, from a historic standpoint, in the playoffs and against longer players (he's had some strong playoff series against the long Lakers). He had one strong playoff series against the Lakers two years ago, well offensively anyways. He was horrible last year and bad 3 years against them on the offensive end and he has always been absolutely horrible against the Lakers defensively.
  19. Rose looks really good tonight. So have Deng, Noah and Bogans. Boozer is still a worthless piece of crap though.
  20. It is bizarre to me that an athlete can get to Luongo's level and be such a mental midget.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) So, Noah goes crazy. Boozer does good (15 and 13 is good) Deng gets 16. Rose only gets 15. That injury had to be bad if he only got 4 FTs and shot so many 3s. He just needs to rest up so he can go full strength back home. Boozer was awful. It took him 15 shots to get those 15 pts, he added nothing defensively, and turned it over 4 times. Then when you add in the bunnies he missed and he hurt the Bulls again today.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) Neither Boston nor Miami plays defense anything like Indiana does. Do you mean in terms of the style of defense they play? Because both of those teams were much better defensively than Indiana this year. Indiana was a middle of the pack defensive team.
  23. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 05:09 PM) "Both Walker and manager Ozzie Guillen have pointed to the fearsome starting pitching the White Sox have faced over the past week as a reason for the offensive cooling." NOTHING WE CAN DO! IT WAS JUST "FEARSOME" PITCHING! Haha, from top to bottom, this team is just a joke. The entire organization likes to talk a big game but they do nothing but make excuses and back down when they get challenged.
