  1. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) Hawk really needs to stop whining about the ump. Those two pitches were clearly balls. He has been completely over the top when it comes to umpires this year. I've never been a Hawk hater but with his increased reliance on catch phrases and constant whining its been really annoying listening to him this year.
  2. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) Not sure who should go, but neither one will. If I had my pick I'd say Kenny Williams, it seems he just makes trades now for the sake of trading and has now shipped 3 excellent starting pitchers...all young...all cheap to other teams for overpriced players (Peavy), crappy players (Swisher) or guys who won't be around very long anyway (Jackson). Swisher is a very good player who had a bad year with the Sox. He is hitting .288 with a .876 OPS and 26 HRs this year. The problem with the Swisher trade was dumping him for nothing the next year when his value was at its lowest point. And Clayton Richard isn't excellent, he is a product of pitching in San Diego just like just about everyone else on that staff.
  3. I loved the Halo Reach campaign and I'm still adjusting to online play since the BR is significantly different from Halo 3 as are the damage grenades and melee attacks do. I really don't think I'm going to like the arena system for ranked play though.
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Well scoring only 92 runs in April might of had a slight hand in some of our losses. Jim Thome or a real DH certainly wouldn't have helped the offense at all in April. The pitchers screwed us.
  5. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:18 PM) Shhh...you sound rational. It's all Ozzie's fault. Repeat 3 times. (It's all Ozzie's fault.) (It's all Ozzie's fault.) (It's all Ozzie's fault.) Then repeat 5 times... (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) Then you'll start to fit in. LOL it certainly isn't all Kotsay's fault or all Ozzie's fault but if you can't acknowledge that choosing Kotsay over Thome is one of the dumbest personnel moves in recent memory and the rotating DH idea is f***ing stupid and cost us several games this year then I don't know what to say.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:08 PM) I'm not sure if it's possible to be a bigger douche nozzle. He is a dumbass and probably related to Ozzie.
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) Wrong again. Next. Thome has been worth at least a couple of wins to the Twins and would have been worth a couple of wins to the Sox. Would that have been enough to make the playoffs? Who knows but the Sox would be much closer than they are right now. Instead Ozzie, because he is a dumbass and wants to play like the 03 decides that it would be ok to put a s***ty hitter in the DH spot so players can get more rest not realizing that just because you have a DH doesn't mean he has to play every day.
  8. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) As the Sox move into the off season and a possible decision looms between keeping Ozzie or keeping Kenny, I won't dwell on the $4 million wasted on Manny Ramirez, who has contributed more bogus haircuts than RBIs or extra-base hits. Instead, I'll note that Daniel Hudson, Gio Gonzalez and Clayton Richard, three pitchers making under a half-million each, three guys at least four seasons from free agency, three guys drafted by and developed by the White Sox are a combined 32-17. All three have earned run averages below 3.50. All three have allowed fewer hits than innings pitched. All three are five games over. 500. Not keeping any of the three was a colossal blunder by the GM and the collective decisions will contribute to financial difficulties on the roster in the next few years. There. Now I feel better. Clayton Richard is a product of pitching in San Diego. He would be nothing more than a 4th starter at best in the AL and US Cellular field.
  9. Looks like there is a decent chance Calipari might be vacating another season. I am sure this is yet another coincidence he had no knowledge about though. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/15/sports/n...ml?_r=3&hpw
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) The Twins must laugh their asses off on flights about their owning of the Sox, aside from the magical playoff game. It would help to get a manager who isn't scared of the Sox biggest rival and have a roster full of players that don't piss their pants when they play the Twins because they expect to lose.
  11. Season on the line chat anyone? http://www.soxtalk.com/chat/chatroom.html
  12. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) Sox fans do love their station to station baseball. People will go far to bring up stats how Thome would make a difference this year and to prove it they will bring up Kotsay's stats. (yawn) The Sox didn't really do much when they had Thome but he is glorified for game 163 which didn't have to be played if the Sox wouldn't lay down against Royal like teams. So far it looks like the Sox are doing just as well without Thome. Many people forget how bad this team was at the season. They dug a deep hole and it was deep enough that the percentages are against winning a division. They won a division in 08 and won 90 games in 2006 despite Buehrle and the pitching staff s***ting the bed. But I guess the pitching staff sucking in 2006 was Thome's fault. But I see you come from the Ozzie school of never admitting when you are wrong so you have to rip Thome whenever he comes up without any facts to support your argument. Also, the argument that the Sox didn't do much with Thome is unbelievably stupid. What did the Red Sox win with Ted Williams? What did the Rangers win with Alex Rodriguez? What did the Mariners win with Ken Griffey Jr? The list goes on and on.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) The ironic thing about the Pearl/Illinois deal is now Pearl is dealing with his cheating issue, and that story about the kid and the 200k from Kentucky the Sun Times reported is rumored to be sourced from Bruce Weber. Not really, the only one who has rumored it to be from Weber is Greg Doyel who hates Illinois and has Calipari's dick in his mouth.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) Frank Omiyale is still literally the worst player in the NFL. Alex Barron is a close 2nd.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) LOL, yeah, I know. I agree that it is an awful rule. If somehow the Bears sneak in the playoff race though, it will count as a win. Sure and I will be happy about it at that time. But sure is hard to be happy about a win when frankly the other team scored a TD that should have won them the game that somehow wasn't rule a TD because of a ludicrous rule.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:25 PM) Um, according to NFL.com they did, 19-14. Sure and the record book also shows Galarraga didn't throw a perfect game when he clearly did.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) I think he was down and touched out of bounds by the time he dropped the ball. My god. And he was clearly just standing up when he put the ball on the ground. I can't even feel good about this win since the Bears didn't actually win the game.
  18. The Bears didn't win that game. Arguably the dumbest rule in professional sports history won them the game. That rule is unfathomably stupid. There is not a legitimate reason for that rule to exist.
  19. Wow even as a Bears fan that is f***ing ridiculous. The NFL has the stupidest rules in professional sports between that and the tuck rule. Unbelievably stupid.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) Let's see how this ruling goes. Frankly it is an obvious TD unless the NFL is the dumbest rule in the history of sports.
  21. How is that not a TD by Johnson? If that isn't a TD they need to change the rule.
  22. Great throw by Cutler, he played a great game today.
  23. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Honestly guys, if you were inside the one, you would go for it too. The Bears just don't have the horses to do so. Don't blame the decision on Lovie. Blame the management in Angelo. Not when a FG gives you the lead in the 4th quarter when the Lions haven't picked up a 1st down since half time.
  24. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) WHY IS LOVIE SMITH SO GOD DAMN STUPID? Just an awful decision and an additional thank you goes to Jerry Angelo for building one of the worst offensive lines in the league.
  25. Bears offensive line is embarrassing. 1st and Goal from the 1 and you can't score a TD. Also how the f*** do you not kick the FG to take the lead. I'm all for going for it on 4th down but not when you can take the lead.
