  1. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ May 26, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) I agree. Not everything really mattered in the whole scheme of things. The problem is that basically nothing that happened on the island mattered in the whole scheme of things.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2010 -> 07:45 PM) And it's the veteran players like Kotsay and AJP. Also two of the slowest players in baseball.
  3. And it should be 6-3 right now, nice freaking baserunning Kotsay.
  4. It is unbelievable how many outs this team runs into.
  5. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 23, 2010 -> 11:59 PM) They don't need a scientific explanation for how everything works. There can be magical elements. But we don't even know the fundamental purpose of things or major motivations. Agreed, spending 5 years building up the mythology of the island to basically answer nothing about the island is ridiculous. As was spending half of a season on the characters fakes lives in purgatory when it was completely irrelevant to the plot and not remotely creative.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 23, 2010 -> 11:50 PM) Haha. Alternate endings are pretty funny. The funny thing is they have as much relevance to the plot of lost as the actual ending.
  7. QUOTE (GREEDY @ May 23, 2010 -> 11:05 PM) I loved the ending. The show got weak in seasons 5 and 6 when it felt like the writer's were explaining the show to a five year old. Lost was best when it was more mystery than sci-fi; I am happy that the ending left things up to interpretation. What about that ending was open to interpretation? They all died at some point and then at the end once they remembered their real lives and reconnected with the others from the island they passed on. The entire thing just feels like a giant cop out to me.
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 23, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) It's funny because the big reveal at the end didn't explain the driving force of all 6 seasons (the f***ing island) it just explained away a plot twist that was introduced in the final season. Introducing purgatory at the beginning of the final season and eventually explaining it in the finale as the "big reveal" was a convenient way to get out of coming up with an acceptable explanation for the crazy powers of the island. The ending makes me feel like I wasted six years on this show.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 23, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) But honestly, would there be any answer that was truly satisfactory for why the island was controlled by a magic light at it's heart that was held in check by a stone cork? Pretty much anything would be better than that abomination of an ending.
  10. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 23, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) I think the end when the credits rolled was supposed to be showing the plane Sawyer and et al was on crashed. And I guess we are to assume they were dead. The alternate universe was just heaven??? I think the alternate universe was basically purgatory and then at the end they were going to heaven.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) If I'm the Lakers, I'm extremely worried about facing the Celtics right now. The Celtics are the one team in the league that has every single ingredient required to match-up with and beat LA. And I don't know what the hell Fisher/Farmer is going to do with Rondo. Kobe's going to have exert quite a bit of energy defensively. And even with that you're opening the door for Ray Allen to have a big series. A hot/healthy Celtics team was the worst, and most unlikely, scenario for the Lakers. Agreed and most importantly with Perkins, Garnett, Wallace and Davis they actually have the size to go up against that Lakers front line.
  12. That goal shouldn't count and that was a horrible call that sent Bolland to the box.
  13. Jeff Jordan transferring from Illinois and I couldn't be happier. But at least his dad was somewhat helpful to recruiting.
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) Transformers 3 just got a lot better It will be unbelievably bad so long as Michael Bay is directing it.
  15. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 20, 2010 -> 06:41 PM) Mycheal Orr ranked 18th in the latest Rivals.com rankings for 2011. Looking like a terrific commit for Illinois. Abrams and Egwu in the top 75, also. Let's just get Shaw/Davis and Randle, and call it a top-5 recruiting class. Mycheal Henry from Orr HS FWIW
  16. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 18, 2010 -> 07:21 PM) To get a better team that he can grow with in Cleveland. Similar to Kobe and the Bulls. He may like the Bulls alot and be enamored with them, but he wants to win a championship where he currently is at. Antawn Jamison was a good scorer on a crap team. He should almost never be a number two scorer. Mo Williams is a decent player, but he shouldn't be your 2nd best player. They were depending on an aging Shaq and Ilgauskus. Anthony Parker was their starting 2 guard which is almost as bad as the Lakers at one point having Smush Parker as the starting PG. So are they going to be able to get a team to give them a top 15 player in the NBA for nothing? Because without Gasol the Lakers would not be winning anything.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2010 -> 07:26 PM) lmao@the Nets. Meh, they still get Favors, Cousins or Turner and I'm not convinced that those guys won't be better than Wall. Wall was extremely mediocre against good competition this year.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) Leverage for what? I'm not getting the leverage angle either, LeBron gets to pick his team and since there is a max contract he can't create leverage to get more money.
  19. Great start but wtf was AJ doing. Horrible decision to go there.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 14, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) Honestly, I'm more interested in Alan Wake for the 360. My thing with RDR is that it's supposed to be bigger than GTA San Andreas. While tons of people loved how big it was, I really didn't. There was a ton of areas that were used for nothing more than scenery, not actual gameplay. I hated the long drives. The actual gaming portion itself was perfect though. I felt like I got the most out of my money with that game. Anything more though, and I would've quit the game and sold it. It filled me up to the top and gladly, nothing more. RDR, I bet, is going to have a ton of places in which you don't do much at all. The area is supposed to be, what, 4x's as big as SA? That's too much for me. And I'm not a huge multiplayer guy either with first person shooters. I like playing the story. Rockstar really just needs to add a fast travel option if the game is that big. I agree with you about San Andreas, it was ridiculous and unnecessary that they made you drive through long stretches of desert to get to destinations and that the missions were so spread out. IMO it really took away from the game. If after you give me a mission I have to drive there fine, but I shouldn't have to drive to the person giving me the mission every single time.
