QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) The rpi is ugly and the losses to Utah and Bradley could hurt. That being said, 5 rpi top 50 wins is pretty much more than all the bubble teams and having 2 of those come on the road(especially having one at Kohl) is absolutely huge and should be enough to get you guys in, imo. Two on the road, one on a neutral court and considering the selection committee probably watched that OSU game I think even losing actually helped us.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) Still don't think Illinois makes it to that dance even after a strong effort. I dont know what the most losses to make the field as an at-large team is, but Illinois would have to be it with 14 losses. Other teams have made it with 14 as at larges before and this years bubble is the worst one ever. They still deserve over the other teams Lunardi has behind them right now but very little can go wrong on the bubble now. Also, DMac has been absolutely terrible in end of game situations this year. People are going to blame Weber for not calling a timeout at the end of the first OT but they ran the pick and roll DMac got doubled so it is an easy read to kick it to Griffey he over dribbled and kicked it out way too late.

And Davis went back to pissing himself at the end of that game. I still really don't like him.
-
Wow Turner gets away with the most obvious hook ever and then Tisdale picks up his 5th going for a block. thanks refs.

I have an amazing ability to have players shut me the f*** up when I call them out.
-
I f***ing hate Mike Davis...he can take his p**** ass back to Virginia. Blowing two layups that OSU turned into buckets on the other end absolutely killed us. And way to not show up today Tisdale. Should have stuck with Griffey over those two vaginas.
-
f*** Mike Davis. Seriously I f***ing hate him.
-
I really hate Mike Davis, goes up like a p**** and blows a chip shot and then OSU gets a transition bucket and has all the momentum.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Enjoy hell, you bastard! LOL, yeah I was expecting that type of reaction. I just find him really over the top 95% of the time and it bugs me. -

Also, Gus Johnson should only be allowed to announce the last minute of NCAA tourney games that are close and nothing else. I find him irritating the vast majority of the time. -
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) Damn pretty good half for Illini, defense has been stellar and no idea what Ohio State was doing on that 2 on 1 fast break. I think they are in already but another win has to insure it and maybe even get them a half decent seed. With UTEP losing it will be close if they don't win today. If they beat OSU and don't get in, well then it is an epic screw job.
-
Really good first half for Illinois. The freshmen are playing great today, Davis has showed up after finding his balls after Weber took him out early. Buford is a stud for OSU. He is pretty much what I am hoping Brandon Paul becomes and Paul has the talent to do it.
-
Yay, p**** Mike Davis is back after he actually took it to the rim yesterday. Clear path for a dunk, lets toss up a one handed floater instead.

I'm just going to say it, UTEP shouldn't get in with that loss today. They haven't beaten a single team that is going to get an at large bid this year. -

QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) God damnit UTEP. Couldn't you just beat Houston? It has looked like UTEP is throwing the game down the stretch. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Eh? Prior to Hughes making those 3s at the end of the game I believe he was 0-10. Eventually he had to make a few, but that was the worst shooting performance by Wisconsin this season. Good luck to Illinois, and hopefully Wisconsin got their horrible shooting game out of the way before the NCAA tournament. Not going to win many games shooting 28.6%. There is no way they should have been even close at the end. If Illinois beats OSU, they should be in. Otherwise its a toss up, but imo theyll have to play 10x better than yesterday to beat OSU, because I cant imagine 2 teams in a row will shoot under 30%. That being said I hope the Big 10 gets 5 teams, and if Minnesota wins the tournament it could be potentially 6. Although if its an Illini-Minnesota final they may just have the winner be the 5th team. Illinois was up 11 with 2 minutes left and then Hughes started tossing in lucky shots (bank shots, ridiculously high arc shots, etc.) that is what my post was referring to. Someone asked what happened to get Wisconsin in the game, that was it.

Houston up 4 with 2 minutes to go against UTEP. UTEP choking big time down the stretch, they were in complete control not long ago. -
QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) Jerry Palm at CBS still has Illinois out of the tournament and I think he's right. If Illinois beats OSU, they'd be in but I don't see that happening. Like Palm, I don't see the Big ten getting more than 4 teams in with what's happened in the ACC and Big East. And if the Big Ten does send 5 teams, Minnesota has the best shot since they can beat Purdue.... Jerry Palm also says Illinois wouldn't be in if they beat OSU today which is ridiculous. He has a vested interest in the RPI so he has been hammering teams with low RPIs. Also what has happened in the ACC and Big East tourneys? The Big East tourney went basically perfectly for Illinois and if GA Tech and Duke win today nothing went wrong at all in the ACC. Ga Tech was always considered ahead of Illinois by everyone so their wins while not helping Illinois didn't really hurt Illinois.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 12:26 AM) I think we're ok in the ACC, but i'm worried about those other 3 things. I think Minnesota should be in right now over Illinois since they beat them in Champaign, but fortunately that's not how it works. Minny has less quality wins and more bad losses than Illinois. They also finished lower in the conference. They really don't have a strong argument at all to be in over Illinois.
-
Not a lock but they will be in with a loss if Duke or Ga Tech win the ACC tourney, UTEP wins Conf USA, Purdue beats Minny, and Utah St. wins their conference.
-
MSU trying their hardest to give the game to Minny at the FT line.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 05:12 PM) New Mexico is pretty much a 5-6 seed disguised as a #2 seed because of their schedule. They aren't good at all, I'm going to be tempted to pick the 14 seed against them (I assume they will get a 3). -
QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) I really don't think so. It's certainly not clear, it's at the very least close. I don't see how you see it as clearly a foul. He hits his wrist, didn't get the ball at all. Vasquez pushed off though so probably doesn't matter.
-
QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) Yes, but I feel like Maryland should lose because Vasquez has had two awful possessions in a row where he refused to trust his teammates. Yep but the officials bail out GT again because Vasquez clearly got fouled on that last 3 attempt as well.

That put back dunk by Favors shouldn't have counted in the GT v. MD game.
