  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 10:47 PM) Demetri killin McCamey and Tisdale the only ones who showed up tonight.
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 08:48 PM) So much for Prater at Tennessee apparently with Kiffin gone. Might USC be back in the mix? Prater to USC.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) Weber moving Jordan up in the depth chart over Paul? SIU/Creighton on Comcast Sportsnet tomorrow. Glad I get to watch but not glad. Paul has been playing unbelievably bad basketball lately. Seems to have hit a wall. I'm sure when he starts making some shots again he'll get more PT. I hate Jordan and Cole but Weber doesn't really have any good options right now.
  4. Illinois continues to be the worst first half team in America. Mike Davis putting on another one of his disappearing acts tonight.
  5. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) That's the Summer Olympics though. The Winter Olympics have just never been big IMO. Maybe in the European nations however. Well that wasn't the point he was making. And no the Winter Olympics aren't as big as the Summer Olympics. There are obviously far less events and I don't think Americans are as familiar with the individual events either.
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) It's amazing how fast this thing escalated. I think Conan is well in his right to be royally pissed off. Leno has a history of doing backhanded things like this, and NBC has mismanaged both sides. Even though I think Letterman sucks, I really hope he beats Leno in the ratings when Leno returns to doing The Tonight Show. It would be hilarious and typical of NBC's f ups as a network.
  7. Conan's monologues are probably going to be classic until he goes off the air. The one last night was outstanding. Leno and Letterman both suck it is a shame Conan gets screwed but at least he is still getting paid.
  8. LOL at Larussa "I didn't know anything". Yeah ok. You only coached McGwire and Canseco in Oakland when steroids became big in baseball and then coached McGwire again when he became a dominant force after several mediocre at best seasons.
  9. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 12:01 AM) olympics are nowhere near what they used to be How so? The Beijing Olympics were incredibly highly rated, especially when there was live coverage.
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 10, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Brady is playing like ass but I'm not putting this game on him. Of his 3 picks so far, 1 was because he chucked it up, but 2 were off his WRs hands. The fumble got knocked right out of his hand, I guess he should've felt the pressure coming, but what can you do when it's right in your face? That last interception was definitely Brady's fault. Watson got hit as the ball was getting to him and didn't have a chance of making that play.
  11. Great comeback again today. This team has the talent to be very good they just don't play hard enough and with enough intensity until they get down. I'm still hoping that at some point the upper classmen develop a killer instinct and get after from the opening tip. Not holding my breath though.
  12. Illinois comes back to tie it. I'll be interested to see if they can complete the comeback and win tonight. And I still hope at some point this year they play with the same intensity they do when down double digits at the start of games.
  13. I still can't believe I am seeing a Weber coached team not play hard and not play D. He has flaws as a coach certainly but he has never had a team at Southern Illinois or Illinois that didn't play hard and wasn't at least very good defensively.
  14. I am so sick of this Illinois team. What a waste of talent the upperclassmen are proving to be. No toughness in that group at all.
  15. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 11:58 PM) What happens if Colt doesn't get hurt? Bama’s offense really struggled. The 2nd half Gilbert played well so that may not have been too different, but the 2nd quarter lull (and that’s an understatement) from Texas wouldn’t have gone down the same. I picked Texas beforehand, but this game actually makes me MORE sure a healthy Texas team beats Bama. And there is a good chance Texas would have scored at least a TD and maybe two at the beginning of the game and would have been in complete control right off of the bat. Also, the unbelievably stupid decision to run that shovel pass really killed Texas. Granted you don't think that will be a pick 6 but no reason to even run a play there.
  16. QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) That's a great point. Some of these guys just don't get it. How a writer does not vote for a 12X All-Star, and 10X Gold Glove Award winner is beyond me. I'm ready to see the voting go to the players (peers of the nominees) and let the writers stick to writing. I'm not convinced former players would do a good job voting for the HOF.
  17. How does Tim Raines only get 30% of the vote? That is even more ridiculous than Alomar not getting in on the 1st ballot.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) I'm sorry, but Alomar and Bly>Dawson Hell, Tim Raines is a more deserving candidate than Dawson. As is Barry Larkin.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) They'll get there eventually. Sure it doesn't change the fact that Alomar not being a first ballot HOF is ridiculous.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) No Alomar, Larkin, or anyone else. The people who vote on the HOF are morons.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 2, 2010 -> 03:22 PM) Horrible last possession by Illinois. Go to the bucket! McCamey refuses to push the ball in those situations. Mind boggling really, and even then he had the lane to the basket and kicked it out to Paul for some reason. But the bottom line is you can't spot a team 20 and expect to come back and win. Hopefully at some point this team realizes that if they play defense for 40 minutes they have a chance to be really good. Because once they turned up the defensive pressure they were the better team by far.
  22. Cincinnati sucks. This was a terrible matchup from the beginning.
  23. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) Bang! With the assist to urban. If I'm a big recruit there isn't a chance in hell I'm going to play for Florida right now. Urban will try to tell you he will be back but can you really believe him? He already lied to his family and the world by saying he was resigning and now he saying he will probably be back in August. I'm not believing that and I'm not committing to a school if I don't know who my head coach will be. I think we see a lot more recruits bail in the next few weeks.
