  1. 1st and 3rd for ARod with 2 outs. Biggest AB of his career.
  2. Wow head up play by Damon. Phillies have the shift on and he steals second base and realizes nobody is covering third so he keeps going and takes third as well.
  3. Tie game going to the top of the 9th. Yankees have Matsui, Jeter and Damon coming up. Phillies will have the 9 spot and then the top of the order in the bottom half of the inning.
  4. How do you not have anybody assigned to Jared Allen on a play?
  5. USC's defense looks horrible. And I really don't understand why they sit back in a zone so often with the athletes they have. Especially since they are being shredded today.
  6. Wow Illinois actually looks like a really good football team today. This is fun to watch.
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Where the f*** has this team been all year? This is what we shouldve been like all year. This is the offense I expected to see this year. Amazing how a goal line stand can completely change momentum.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) That figures. That goal line play calling for Michigan was Ron Turner like. That was bad, not even one attempt at play action. And Terry Hawthorne might have saved Zook's job by running down the Michigan WR on that play. Not sure how to feel about that.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Iowa has been very good in bowl-games. I wouldn't throw a ton of money down on the Hawks if they were playing Florida, USC, LSU, Alabama, etc, but I'd give them a fighting chance. They aren't as bad as some of you say. And I realiez Ferentz said that about the computer and the big reason is because the computer doesn't tell how the Hawkeyes win. At the same time, it factors in heavily the teams Iowa's played, etc, and at some point you can't argue that Iowa has beaten some pretty good teams in some pretty tough places. If Iowa goes undefeated (and I still don't necessarily believe they will), they'd have a resume which includes wins vs Arizona (top 25), @ Penn State (top 15), @ Ohio State (top 15-top 20), @ Wisconsin (Top 30), vs Michigan (Top 30-40). And right now the Iowa State win isn't looking like a bad win either (although the Clones are losing today). Arizona is not a top 25 team despite their ranking IMO. There is a good chance they lose 3 or 4 more games this year. They still need to play at Arizona St., at USC, at Cal and home against Oregon.
  10. Wow Illinois actually looked, dare I say it, good against Michigan on that opening drive.
  11. Um...anyone else feel like the announcers are giving Stanzi too much credit for this 4th quarter? He made a couple of good albeit simple throws where Iowa's receivers were wide open and then the receivers ran wild. Granted I'm used to seeing Illinois QBs miss those throws but still.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) I'm surprise Indiana isn't using timeouts right now. Following the Ron Zook model of quitting before the game is over.
  13. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 02:04 PM) If doesn't matter if the TD went Indiana's way. Iowa would've somehow gotten a 15 point TD, haha. That call was big but the biggest play of this entire game was the Iowa interception returned for a TD where it hit like 5 people then landed right in the Iowa's players hands. Instead of possibly putting the game away Iowa gets right back in it.
  14. It is amazing how fast this IU team can fold when things don't go their way. A bunch of mental midgets.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) Stanzi has thrown for 150 yards and 2 TDs the last 2 plays, good thing they didn't take my or Davies' advise and go to the back up. The wind must be howling. Two good throws but of course the receivers did basically everything on those plays. And I'm not sure what the hell IU has been doing on D.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) He did both. What exactly were you watching? 93 yd TD. Go Hawks He is leading with his shoulder what the f*** do you want the defensive player to do there.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) Here's the rule. It was a penalty NCAA- College 2008 & Still Current Initiating Contact/Targeting an Oppenent 1. No player shall initiate contact and target an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet. When in question, it is a foul. 2. No player shall initiate contact and target a defenseless opponent above the shoulders. When in question, it is a foul. Really because he didn't target the opponent with the crown of his helmet or initiate contact and target a defenseless opponent above the shoulder.
  18. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 01:37 PM) Yeah...and someone on this board said he was the best senior QB in the Big Ten. He is only a JR.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 01:35 PM) Helmet to helmet. It was an easy call. Just because helmets hit each other does not make it a penalty. If it was there would be personal fouls on a ton of tackles.
  20. And Iowa benefits from a bulls*** unnecessary roughness penalty again.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) I haven't the slightest clue as to why they would do this. Maybe they think they have a chance to beat Sabbathia in game 4 even with Blanton pitching, then think they have a big edge in game 5 against Burnett with Lee? They sure didn't show much ability to hit Burnett if he is on his game so I don't get this all. I think this gives the Yankees the SP advantage in every game but game 5 now and the Yankees have a huge edge with Sabathia against Blanton and Hamels in games 4 and 7.
