  1. That was a huge run that the Angels left at 3rd base.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) Hughes just refused to listen to Posada. Tried to get too cute and should have definitely gone with the breaking ball again. Hughes definitely shook him off there a couple of times but if your Posada go out there and tell him to throw the breaking ball in the dirt. There is absolutely no reason to ever throw Guerrero a fastball anywhere near the zone in that situation and that is twice the Yankees have done that in key situations in the series and it has killed them both times.
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 09:48 PM) Which is odd because Hughe's curve was supposed to be phenomenal when he was coming up in the minors. He's just another pitcher who fell in love with his fastball. His curve is his best pitch and was clearly his best option tonight. He made Guerrero look really bad when he threw him the curveball.
  4. Angels go back on top. I'm going to say that the pitch selection to Guerrero has to be one of the all time dumbest pitches I have seen. 1-2 count against a guy who swing at crap out of the zone all the time and had looked terrible against Hughes breaking ball and you throw a fastball. I will never get that.
  5. Phil Hughes really struggling tonight and really though out the postseason. If the Yankees advance that could be a possible weakness for them.
  6. Terrible pitch selection there again by the Yankees. I'll say it again when you have Guerrero with two strikes why the f*** are you throwing a fastball on the next pitch. So dumb. But huge inning for the Angels obviously.
  7. Abreu gets a run home on a groundout. Hughes coming in to face Hunter.
  8. First two reach against Burnett and Girardi going to Marte...WTF?
  9. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) I wouldn't be surprised if the Angels come back in this game. Well they better come back in the next two innings because if it gets to Rivera with the lead...good luck
  10. I'm really surprised Burnett is still in this game.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 09:24 PM) God, i hope the Phillies put up a fight. I think they can. I don't like their bullpen and outside of Lee I really don't like their SP because I can't see any way Pedro and Blanton hold down the Yankee offense but I think they can score and make the series competitive that way.
  12. Complete meltdown by the Angels bullpen. Looks like the Yankees are probably heading to the WS.
  13. Wow, bases clearing double for Tex. Lackey is probably pissed.
  14. Gets Damon, now it looks like Oliver coming in to face Tex with the bases still loaded.
  15. Huge AB coming up for the Yankees. Damon up with the bases loaded and one out. Still a 4-0 Angels lead.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 07:39 PM) Weaver's on tap for game 6 right? I think it is Saunders then Weaver but I'm not sure. Angels finally getting the benefit of some calls tonight. A couple of called third strikes that definitely weren't strikes and Damon was definitely safe at first there.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) With Lackey on the mound, good chance that this series goes back to NY and Pettitte I think the Angels need to keep scoring runs but it looks good for them to get the series back to NY. Especially with a seemingly big strike zone being called tonight.
  18. AJ Burnett getting absolutely destroyed early on. Also, Tex is having just a horrible postseason at the plate for the Yankees outside of that game winning HR against the Twins.
  19. Refs from the Arkansas/Florida game suspended by the SEC. Too bad they were allowed to gift Florida a win before being suspended.
  20. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) I meant Jermaine Jones from Germany if FIFA clears him. I'm not that big of a Clark fan. If Jones isnt cleared, then I guess a Landon-Clark-Bradley-Torres. Jones has been cleared to play for the US
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2009 -> 10:28 PM) This is totally their year. They finally went out and signed some good pitching, instead of some flukes. It shows. Yep, they went out and got a true ace and another guy with dominant stuff. They also went out and got the 2nd best 1B in baseball. They went out and spent their money on true studs and if they do that they are going to be the best team in baseball year in and year out. The scary thing is with Damon, Nady, and Matsui off the books they could easily get Holliday and still bring one of those guys (likely Damon back). And then I'm sure they are going to go all out for Mauer in 2010.
  22. Sabathia is proving to be worth the money and then some for the Yankees so far this postseason. Great performance.
  23. I'm surprised the Angels aren't just putting A-Rod on here.
