f*** this unsportsmanlike conduct bulls***. I'm so sick of this non sense. It is football let them have fun as long as they aren't going up to a player on the other team and taunting them. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) Stanzi? Really? Iowa's success is almost entirely because they have a ridiculous defense. Stanzi as a pro? Yeesh. As a backup probably. That is why I am so certain that no Big 10 QB will have success in the NFL. They basically suck across the board. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) Do you realize how ridiculous of a statement that is? How many NFL starting QB's did you accurately predict would be starters when they were underclassmen? I am sure you took a look at Jay Cutler and said, wow THAT guy is going to be worth a damn, that Joe Flacco is THE man. Come on, its extremely hard to predict NFL success at the QB position, especially based on college performance. There are 3 underclassmen in the Big 10 playing QB - Tate Forcier, Pryor and Kirk Cousins. Forcier is going to be a really good maybe even great college QB but he doesn't have the size to play QB in the NFL (unless he becomes Doug Flutie II). Pryor almost certainly will never have the accuracy to be successful in the NFL (see Vince Young). Cousins just isn't any good and doesn't have a great arm. Out of the upperclassmen in the Big 10 - Elliott, Clark, Juice, Kafka, and Chappell just clearly don't have what it takes. Tolzien and Weber are mediocre at best and don't show great accuracy or great arm strength. Stanzi is a pretty good college QB and will play in the NFL but a success in the NFL, not going to happen. Cutler started all 4 years at Vanderbilt and outside of his freshman year put up good numbers and he also could make throws that very very few QBs can make. There is no one in the Big 10 like that (that is currently starting anyways). -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 01:51 PM) LOL, how can you even say that? There are so many underclassmen playing QB in the conference it would be moronic to say that at this point. Do you know how many NFL QB's dont develop until even their senior year? Because I watch them play. The QBs in this conference suck. I should make clear that I meant that no one will be worth a damn in the NFL but I'm sure a couple of guys will stick in the league as 2nd or 3rd string QBs considering how awful 3rd string QBs in the NFL can be. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) The same can be said about Juice Williams, although not as talented as Pryor he has regressed big time this season. And really if you want to know why the Big 10 sucks so bad just look at the QB play across the conference, it is freaking pathetic. Not a single guy with an NFL future. I don't understand how that happens. -

The Big 10 is just embarrassingly bad at football right now. -

I'm so sick of these weak ass roughing the passer calls. I understand you want to protect the QB but my god, you can't even hit a QB anymore. That personal foul in the Ok-Texas game was a joke. -

The Phillies have played some of the worst defense you will ever seen in the bottom of the 8th. -

QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 10:16 AM) This has actually fueled the fire to the rumors of Irving and Beal ending up at Kentucky now. Beal isn't going to Kentucky -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 10:49 AM) Wouldn't you want captain cheeseburger to get 3 starts if it went 7? Plus the back end of that bullpen with Joba, Hughes, Mariano is just nasty. -
QUOTE (Cubano @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 10:18 PM) Contreras got $32 million from the Yanks. He was older than Chapman. He was also considered more ready to be a major league contributor than Chapman.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 10:13 PM) Tulsa gets called for a freaking sideline interference penalty making it 3rd and 4 for Boise rather than 3rd and 9 with BSU up 7 late. Tulsa gets the stop anyways. -

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 02:00 AM) Oh, there'$ a rea$on. I'm sure that is the reason but can starting the series on a Friday night after basically a week without baseball really be good for ratings? -

It is unbelievably stupid how spread out the playoffs are. There is no reason that this series isn't starting till Friday. -

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 01:42 AM) Although I dunno if they really will be a package deal, I definitely can't see Shaw or Blackshear staying local... And I'm definitely jealous of the players illinois is getting. Can't wait for hoops season. I'll be out to see Shaw and one of the '13 studs, Alex Foster, at De La Salle at least a couple of times. Although he transferred, I really like Dre Henley's game... I think there is a pretty good chance Shaw goes to Illinois if he doesn't follow Blackshear. Big if as to whether that will happen though. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) Or, you know, the intown school is still an option. Chasson Randle visiting Iowa State this weekend, any of you guys have any comment on him? He is a very solid player. No real weaknesses in his game and I think he will be a solid 4 year contributor in college. Probably a guy who scores between 8 and 12 pts his whole career in college depending on PT (which he would get early at ISU). I feel like he is a high floor low ceiling guy if that makes sense. I can't see him being a star but I don't see anyway he busts. He is a solid athlete, probably needs to try to be more of a PG but his handles are fine for a 2G, shoots it pretty well. I know that one of ISU's assistants has a connection to Randle. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) It is why CJ is still going to do a visit at Wisconsin and Iowa. I'd love to get me the best TE in the country in some black and gold. He is awesome but not the best TE in the country. USC has the best TE in the country going there. -

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) Bradley Beal, number 7 recruit in 2011 class has decided to attend KU's late night over Illinois. I expect him to sign soon with KU. He might but considering Self has Beal's entire HS team coming (because his coach is pro KU) it shouldn't be surprising Beal chose to go to KU's MM. He very well could commit to KU but this really isn't that telling of a sign. -
Has there ever been a playoff team with a closer who had a worse season than Brad Lidge? I would feel so uncomfortable if I was a Phillies fan right now.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) Seriously, it's game 3 of the ALDS and the pitchers the Twins have thrown out so far are Duensing, Blackburn, and now THE Carl Pavano. How the Hell did these guys win the division with that as their starting rotation? The AL Central was an absolute joke and the White Sox and Tigers would struggle to score against little leaguers.
