QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 11:37 AM) even though i probably shouldn't be i'm just stunned at the stupidity of this. Yeah, I want to know what the conditions of his probation were and what exactly he did before wanting him gone for sure though. For instance, it is possible that a condition of his probation was to not enter bars. If he did so but wasn't drinking, while an incredibly stupid decision I'm also not sure that necessarily warrants being tossed off the team of course depending on what the state decided to do on his probation violation.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:37 PM) Every other team in the league could ask the same question. They are the best team in the league. I was about to say the same thing. Where are all these other consistent teams? No one in the AL East has been consistent. No one in the NL is consistent. The Sox may be flawed but so is every team in baseball.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) Gagne in to face the Cubs? The Brewers should really look into getting a RP for the stretch run. Or they can pray that Gallardo gets healthy and use him as a RP for the remainder of the season.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) PK seems to be getting worse, and that didn't seem possible. Anderson needs to be in CF, with Swisher at 1b. Unfortunately Swisher is just as bad right now. But at least that would improve our D.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) Rickie Weeks may not be in a Brewers uni next year. Ray Durham>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rickie Weeks. I wonder how long it will take Ned Yost to figure it out.
-
Rickie Weeks gets booed after striking out against Howry. Why the hell haven't the Brewers made Durham their everyday 2b yet?
-
Luckily for the Brewers Bob Howry is as bad at baseball as Weeks is.

Rickie Weeks f***ing sucks at baseball.

I think the Swisher-Konerko debate needs to end. They both suck

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) I think he might be OK. He was awesome with the White Sox for a while. He did come in Saturday for the Yankees and fan Big Papi. Doesn't get any harder than that. He was a lot more dominating for the White Sox than not. People remember the Boston playoff game, but he was really screwed up then. If his head is on straight, and they use him mostly against lefties, I think he will be a popular member of their bullpen. Agreed. And while I couldn't stand him in 2005, he was absolutely dominant in 2003 when the Sox were in the playoff chase until September so it isn't like he can't handle the heat of a pennant race. He was an absolute mess in 2005 and needed a change of scenery but he has done well in high pressure situations before.

Please for the love of god don't f this up Konerko

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) When your main offensive weapon is a walk and you have 6 career SB, its really not so impressive. Swisher hasn't hit as well as he has the best two seasons. But walking is still more of a weapon than Konerko has shown at the plate. Both of those guys have been big disappointments. But as lousy as Konerko has been I'm also not in the bench him or trade him camp because I wouldn't be surprised at all if he broke out and got real hot. Same goes for Swisher.

QUOTE (FranktheTank35 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 01:48 PM) Javy is just absolutely horrid right now. When was his last good start? Turn it around, please! He pitched 7 innings against Texas allowing 3 runs in his last start. And against Oakland he pitched a complete game also allowing 3 runs. Those were two of his previous 3 starts.

Jermaine Dye absolutely owns Tiger pitching

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 04:21 PM) No kidding. How bout this: We thought we won a deal trading Marte away for Mack-O-Whack. Now he's being called a shut down relief pitcher in the media. Marte was also coming off a season when he posted a 1.7+ WHIP and couldn't throw a strike to save his life. He has been very solid for Pittsburgh the last two seasons and his walk totals are way down and thus he has regained his effectiveness. Not a shut down relief pitcher but a very good one.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) Alexei is really good. does this team have any chance of scoring off Jones/Rodney?? Jones sucks so absolutely -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) Haha, Steroiderosa looked like an idiot diving after catching that ball. That was straight out of the Jim Edmonds school of unnecessarily diving for a ball making a catch look more difficult than it really was.
