QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) Maybe I am the only one that sees it, but when watching that highlight, I saw the foul and had no problem with the call. The problem is, a human cannot react as quickly as tenths of seconds on a clock so the call comes in later. And if that's not enough, any team wearing those ugly assed pink uniforms, regardless of how good their cause is, SHOULD get screwed. UGH Two comments on the calls tonight. The ref who made the call in the Georgetown game should be ashamed of himself. First of all there is no chance G'Town gets a shot off there and there was little if any contact there. That isn't even a foul with 4 minutes left let alone .1 seconds. I've only seen the Tennessee game once but there was clearly a foul. However, it did look like the clock stopped before the foul actually occurred. Edit: Just saw it again. There is almost no doubt that the clock would have run out before the foul if it wouldn't have stopped with .2 seconds left. -

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:08 PM) And I never stated that Indiana was a great team. We have many flaws that can hopefully be worked out. And Bassett and Crawford stepped up big tonight, lets hope that continues. Also I don't think ILL is as bad as their record, if they could hit a damn FT down the stretch they could easily be above .500. I'm just looking at the positives ok? What is going to kill IU is that their frontcourt outside of White is basically a joke. They have good guards and White is obviously a very good big man. THomas, Stemler, and Mike White are awful. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) Roy has never been a good defensive coach. He has not adjusted to the 3 point onslaught at all. UNC was actually a very good defensive team last year and was very good defensively in 04-05. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) What really pisses me off is for the next week, all we are going to hear about is how big of a douche Beilcheck is. Not that he doesn't have it coming, but I don't want to f***ing hear about it. I'm more annoyed we are going to have to hear about how nobody respected the Giants for the next month. Hell, it only took Plaxico Burress about 5 seconds after the game to bring it up.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) Boy, it's a good thing Bruce wouldn't take E'Twaun Moore because he wanted to leave that spot open for Rose or Gordon!!! Nice call, coach (10-12, 24 points today). Too bad that never happened. -

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 03:57 PM) I would lean towards that, not only because elite players win championships but because not every elite player leaves after one year. I haven't kept track and don't feel like researching it now, but I would guess that generally like 4 freshmen tops are good enough to go pro. The freshman classes these last two years have just turned out to be absurdly good. Now that guys can't leave out of high school I would bet more than 4 will be going pro just about every year. -
QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) The Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly traded big man Pau Gasol to the Lakers for F/C Kwame Brown, G Javaris Crittenton and first-round picks in 2008 and 2010. Gasol's name had not come up much lately in trade talks, but this is big news for the Lakers, as he can play center until Andrew Bynum returns from a knee injury, then slide over to power forward. Darko Milicic, Stromile Swift, Hakim Warrick and even Juan Carlos Navarro should all see a boost in fantasy value for Memphis with this news. Gasol has missed three of his last four games with a back injury, but it must not be too serious if the Lakers were willing to trade for him. Although, getting rid of Kwame was probably intriguing to them, regardless of how Gasol's back is feeling. Feb. 1 - 2:36 pm et That trade is just awful for Memphis. Someone please explain how the Bulls could not top that deal?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) I was actually having this debate the other day. Is it better for your program to stay away from the top talent guys that leave after a year and focus more on building and developing a system with a team instead of having to regroup every year because your lineup goes pro? I have specifically looked at my team of course, but I wonder about other programs. You want both. A perfect scenario is to have a mix of very good 3 and 4 year players while bringing in the top talent to supplement them. -
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 04:46 PM) It is pretty sad, but the best the current group they're throwing out there is going to do is tred water. With Deng and Gordon out they really don't have enough scorers. A part of me would actually rather just see the Bulls basically suck the rest of the way and lose as many games as possible with the strength of this years draft.

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) Tisdale, even with his stupid decisions, has a sweet 12-15 foot shot and really has good hands for a big man. I look forward to 2009-2011 when we're back on top of the league and competing for final four spots. It is conditioning with Tisdale. Once he gets stronger and more conditioned you won't see those type of plays. And he usually does have very good hands which is why I was shocked when he dropped a couple of passes yesterday. -

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) i just think that you can not hide this team's offensive ineptitude over the course of a 40-minute game. we are not good offensively and eventually that will catch up to us. i think you can gameplan to get guys open looks and stuff like that, but the teams we are playing are just flat-out better and more talented. over 40 minutes that will show. I didn't want to quote this whole post but I agree with a lot of it. I also think the fact there is really no go to guy plays a role in the struggles at the end of games. No one wants to shoot it except for Pruitt and teams just double him and he makes awful decisions. -

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 11:31 PM) ESPN ran a poll of the nation asking Who would you rather be? Tiger Woods or Tom Brady? Woods whomped Brady. I, for one, can't understand it, and it has little to do with a Patriot bias. I just don't understand why people would rather be a Golfer -- even if the dude is the Picasso of Golf -- than a man with three Super Bowl rings, about to enter another, with the touchdown record just finished. Maybe I have a bias against Golf, as I imagine Woods would beat just about any athlete in this contest except Michael Jordan. Why? Because he's really good at Golf? Who would you rather be? Tiger Woods or Tom Seaver? Tiger Woods or Peyton Manning? Tiger Woods or...Lebron James? Tiger Woods or Greg Maddux? Tiger Woods or Wayne Gretzky? I just don't get it. And I don't think I ever will. Tiger Woods bank account>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tom Brady's Both have ridiculously hot women so that wouldn't come into play. Might be more glory in football but golf is in many ways more challenging sport and being great at it could be more rewarding. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 26, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) Richmond is an amazing talent, he had 23 points and about 20 rebounds by my unofficial count. However, the team they were playing stinks, his teammates stink, and his attitude appears to stink. However, he's as hell of a talent and still only a sophomore, so in that respect I am very impressed. Have you gotten a chance to see Crandall Head yet? Because he is freaking amazing as well. Same type of talent as Richmond, maybe just a small notch below. -

QUOTE(JuiceCruz16 @ Jan 25, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) Same thing they said in '05. that worked out pretty good for "blue heaven" I agree strides need to be made in that area as well as others for UNC, and Kansas is a very deserving #1 right now as the best in the land, but there are about 6-7 teams that can go with Kansas night in night out and win their share of games. The 05 Carolina team was significantly better on the defensive end than this years version. That years version was top 10 in defensive efficiency. This team isn't top 40. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 05:26 PM) Well you are right, but Texas basically just offers the top 50 kids in Texas, tells them there are 25 spots open, and says it's first come, first serve. As a result of that, along with the popularity of HS football and the Horns down there, they have 25 verbals and a top recruiting class by about March every year, way before almost anybody else in the nation. Thus, as a result, if a guy or two strays (which does happen), they just pull the offer and have plenty of time to get somebody else. So while your correct, that's kind of a unique situation. Michigan threatened to pull Cissoko's offer and ND was using that strategy this year as well. -

I really can't stand Brian Randle. Couple of good games and then he pulls this bulls***. 1-10 in the 1st half including a wide open missed dunk and a few other missed bunnies. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) I also assume the movie is done. This does however put a cramp on the next film, assuming he was going to be in it, which I thought I heard he was... The film is in post production. Absolutely brutal news especially since he had a young child.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) For Illinois fans, I predict that Brandon Paul and Jereme Richmond will be teammates next year in high school. Which school is TBA. Just a prediction but am reading some writing on the walls. Really? What exactly are you hearing? That would be pretty sweet to watch. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) Very respectful post here my friend. I live and die with KU basketball and take any rip on KU very personally as well. I have one other KU fan on this board, who disappears faster than a charachter on lost. I guess its the concept of brainwash that goes hand in hand with the school you attend. IU is not a natural rival, Illanoy fans think they are a rivalry because they have looted your best player. Sampson is scum, every Big 12 fan can agree with that. The problem is Weber never has any back up plans, and you are greatly suffering now. Instead of accepting this fact, you blame and complain and cry about how everything is unfair. I'm pretty sure that nearly every Illinois fan on this board has accepted that this team isn't good. In fact, I have had discussions with other Illinois fans on this board that Weber should throw in the towel on the season and just play the freshmen as much as possible. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) Happens in almost every game in every conference. In games where the games are tight and fouls are called, a team needs depth. That was the problem today though. It was tight at times and very loose at others. It was basically completely random. And when you miss FTs the way Illinois did today and turn the ball over constantly you aren't going to win. That was never the point of my post today. I'm just sick of watching Big 10 refs blow calls constantly and just randomly change the way they are officiating games. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) Who are the refs today??? Just wondering? Not in the box score yet. But all I know is I come away from nearly every Big 10 game (not just Illinois) I watch thinking the refs did a poor job. No consistency with the calls they make and I hate the way the conference is officiated in general. In the first half today the refs let both teams play. Then for a short period they called any contact at all. Then all of a sudden they decide to let the game get physical again. There just is no consistency from game to game or even from minute to minute in the way they call the games.
