  1. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Dec 2, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) the refs were bad but totally didnt do us in although they made it much easier for arizona to score offensively ala the washington game last year; we still did nothing on the offensive end aggresive for a long stretch in that 2nd half this game was eerily familiar to the 2001? elite eight game where everyone on our team fouled out and we lost to them The refs did us in. They took Pruitt out with awful calls and Warren out with weak calls. Those two were dominating the game. The Rich play at the end was called horribly. The basket shouldn't have counted-no continuation in college, and it was a very debatable intentional. The refs were a f***ing joke. And I don't want anyone saying you have to play through it. You can't play through it when your whole front line is taken out with foul trouble. The Pruitt call in the first half was just awful. It was a foul on Zona, he should have been going for a 3 pt play, instead he picks up his 3rd foul.
  2. Refs are flat out trying to steal this game. Really too bad. We were the better team.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 2, 2006 -> 05:39 PM) 4 fouls on Carter, 4 for the half, 2:30 in. Zona can thank the refs for even being in this game. That offensive foul on Arnold in this half was a joke. What a flop.
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 2, 2006 -> 05:16 PM) Strange officiating. WTF, Pruitt can't even land in that situation. f*** these refs. These refs are f***ing terrible what a joke. Have to love that the more aggressive team can't get any calls.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 1, 2006 -> 11:48 AM) Great, another season of no tools Podsednik out in LF. I can't believe KW failed to upgrade the LF/leadoff position. I'd wait for the offseason to be over to make this type of statement. Still possible Pods gets traded and we bring in a good LF.
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 29, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) Wish Bradley could have held onto that one as they got up by 8 or 9 with about 8 to go, but ah well. As far as the UNI fans go, I know what you're saying but UNI is the better team and their fans should have acted like it. I know that it's a different scenario because of the McDermott situation but I think I've made my view point known here that you should only rush the court/field if you pull off a huge upset or win some kind of championship. I would say that buzzer beaters or last second game winning plays are also acceptable. Hard not to let emotion get the best of you in those cases.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 29, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) Worst Award Ever. It's the Most.Valuable.Player. Valuable. How much value did Howard have for the Phills? Instead of 4th place they came in 2nd... Cards without Albert finish behind the Reds...... It's easy. Have the MVP award, and have the best player award. The Phillies won more games than the Cardinals. Howard should be penalized because his team plays in a better division? I think a player winning the war should be on a contender for the most part, but Pujols shouldn't get credit for his team playing in an awful division.
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) Wow, if we just made half of our free throws, we could've been all over this game. McRoberts is very overrated and Paulus sucks. Just wanted to get that off my chest.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) I hate McBride.... and why wasnt Jamar Smith in the game at the end? Jamar's ankle was really bothering him today. His movement laterally and his elevation just wasn't there at all.
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) Garcia was arguable our best pitcher last year and we would be giving him up for a guy with elbow concerns and an ERA near 6 away from Anaheim. That's how Garcia had 3 months where his ERA was over 5. One month he had an ERA of 4.81. You take out September when we were basically out of the race and he wasn't good at all. Santana had the lower ERA and WHIP.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) In a game the B10 needed, UM gets beat. Amaker sucks hard
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) And the Gary Jules version is the one from the commercials for the game? Yes
  13. QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) i believe it's 'mad world' originally done by Tears for Fears Right. Gary Jules cover is incredibly different musically from the Tears for Fears version if you are looking to download it though.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) Consensus 5 star class of 2007 PF Herb Pope picked New Mexico State. That's right, NEW MEXICO STATE. *mind boggles* He is a headcase. All the big programs stopped recruiting him.
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) I'm going to be rather prophetic myself right here and guess you bringing Donnie Darko is entirely due to the latest XBOX360 commercial featuring the REM song. I can't be the only one who heard it during the promo for "Gears of WAr" and immediately thought of the movie. Thought so too. But the song is by Gary Jules not REM.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) We all know the system is flawed and I hate the bcs as much as anyone. I just think at this point if UM loses with a chance to go to the national championship then they should be done, they've lost their shot at the title game. I know that's taking a late season loss more than an early season one but right now I think that's how it should be done. So if they lose on the road against the #1 team in the country they should be done? I don't get it. As long as they don't get blown out they would be more deserving than anyone outside of an undefeated Rutgers of getting to play OSU again on a neutral field. Why shouldn't ND be done since they got destroyed by Michigan. Or why shouldn't Florida be done because they lost to an Auburn team that is clearly worse than OSU. Why shouldn't USC be done for losing to a very mediocre Oregon State team. I don't understand why people are so against a rematch in the national championship game. The two most deserving teams should be in that game regardless of whether or not the game is a rematch.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) Patrick Beverley lit it up for 29 on 11 of 13 shooting tonight. Good thing Illinois wouldn't offer him due to "missing transcripts". I'm glad you guys came back. Gage woulda never let you hear the end of it otherwise. They didn't offer him because they wanted to see his transcripts. Considering he was in his senior year, it really isn't an outrageous request. Before you offer a guy already in his senior year, it is a good idea to know if he will even qualify. I would have liked to have him, but if you can't take 10 minutes to fax your transcripts well then you don't deserve a scholarship. But I guess that is all Weber's fault.
  18. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) didn't show anything from Venom...but this looks sweet. Now that they have a lot of the graphics completed this trailer shows more than the last one. Just a guess, but I doubt we see a whole lot of Venom in this film. I would assume that they will set Venom up as the main villain for Spidey 4.
  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) It took Iowa nearly 42 minutes to score on Northwestern in Iowa City. Talk about embarrassing. 21-7 final! Way to go Cats. They've been showing better play the last few weeks, it finally resulted in a win. Northwestern owns Iowa
  20. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) I was defending Gordon because certain Illini fans won't just accept that Gordon has always been an outstanding player even before his days with Rose. No one has said otherwise.
  21. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) God seriously shut up already. Gordon is and always has been a TOP player. Wow you are an idiot. Greasy just go ahead and ban me for a week before I say something I regret.
  22. QUOTE(whitesox61382 @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) Which is untrue. Gordon has always been considered one of the top players in the country since most scouting companies came out with their initial rankings for this recruiting class a few years ago(top ten). If you follow Indiana high school basketball you cetainly have known about Gordon for a while. He was always considered the top player in the state(for this recruiting class) for years, and that includes a state that currently has 7 players in the Rivals top 70 at this point. Saying that he wasn't one of the top players in the country until he played with Rose is insane, and shows that this guy knows nothing or very little about recruiting. In which case you shouldn't make comments about things you know almost nothing about. So yes, his comments are completely bias and tant his reputation in regards to high school basketball knowledge IMO. Except he says that Gordon was not considered to be the TOP not one of the top players in the country until he played with Rose. He never says Gordon wasn't one of the top players because that would be stupid.
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) I think the bias he's referring to is the attempt to soften the blow or w/e for some Illini fans by inferring that Gordon is only claimed to be a talent because of playing with Rose. "Don't overlook the fact that Gordon wasn't considered the top player in the country until he played with Rose. Gordon, not Rose, benefited from the partnership." Except if you are reading that as Gordon only being a talent because he played with Rose you are an idiot. All he is saying is that Gordon got most of the hype and moved up in the rankings when he played with Rose. That is true.
  24. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) That is just an odd statement all-around. Gordon isn't and has never been the top player in the country. He has been the top ranked SG in his class for quite a while though. Yes he played very well with Rose, and lots of people went out to see them play together. But both players were already entrenched into their #1 SG and #2 PG positions and nothing changed, people just found out that they gelled well together. While they both are great players and Gordon obviously made Meanstreets a lot better they really didn't play all that well together. Their games pretty much consisted of them taking turns going 1 on 1 with a defender.
