  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 7, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Game of the century!!! That was a fun watch and love the outcome. Thank god Zook can recruit because outside of John L. Smith he is the worst in game coach in the conference. Going for 2 twice in the first half? Seriously what the hell is that. And then rushing 3, with 2 minutes left and IU only needing a FG. Terrible.
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) FNL was very fast paced. Hour was over before I knew it. Lots of similarities to the movie and book, but it will have to branch out further as a TV show and judging by previews, it will. I wasn't a big fan. I thought the football scenes were awful and that really takes away from the show. The game winning play was so unrealistic it killed the entire episode for me.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) Jeter only 5-5 tonight. You just can't get him out in the playoffs/october. No matter what you think of him, he's awesome this time of year, Not including today, his career playoff numbers were actually slightly below his career regular season numbers.
  4. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Sep 30, 2006 -> 03:27 AM) Love the enthusiasm, but Bill Self recruited that team...Bruce Weber would never bring in studs like that team had. Self did not recruit anything like he has at KU at Illinois. Our top 6 guys on the final 4 team were Brown, Williams, Head, Powell, Augustine, and Ingram. Ingram was a walkon. Powell actually committed to Kruger. Head was not a top 100 recruit. Augustine was ranked around 75. Deron around 50. Dee was around 20. Not exactly can't miss stud talent there.
  5. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) Zibby has speed. Either way you get near him hes gonna fu*ck your ass up. Every offensive player fears him. Michigan State's running back looked terrified as he was running Zbikowski over.
  6. MSU with an epic choke job. Stanton pissed himself down the stretch. What absolutely horrible decision making to go along with pathetic play calling by their coaching staff.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) Well...how dare SSI bring up a player's stats. Don't you know that it is trying hard that wins, not actual talent.
  8. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Was it through the Wild Card then? But either way you are right, they lost to the Mariners, I remember that. Yes, and actually they lost to the Indians. They lost to the Mariners in 95.
  9. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) Don't blow it up, look at the Yankees. They won it all in 96 and didn't even make the playoffs in 97 but won it all in 98, 99, and 2000. The Yankees did make the playoffs in 97.
  10. You don't just let Buehrle walk. But I wouldn't be opposed to trading him if the right deal came along.
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) I'm with you. Ozzie has been bad this year overall. But blaming him alone let's the players off the hook. They deserve as much blame as Ozzie does, maybe more. Players always deserve more blame than the manager in situations such as these. That doesn't excuse Ozzie's awful managing this year though.
  12. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 01:03 PM) It looks like I'm in the minority, but so what? Unless the US is being directly threatened in this conflict, we should not be involved. Same goes for Iraq. We are not the World's Policeman. Wow, just wow. If I ever see you getting mugged on the street I hope you don't mind if I just stand and watch. Seeing as how I'm not a policeman.
  13. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) But, how the hell did the jayhawks get on national TV???Hey at least we are still undefeated or something. I'm still asking that question about Illinois vs. Rutgers last week.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) The rule itself seems shady. Why should it matter? Unless they were intentional walks, he had pitches to swing at. Why should a guy lose an individual streak by helping his team by reaching base in every one of his at bats without making an out? Should he be penalized for trying to help his team?
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/teams/report/NYY/9657228 Seems shady to me. Why?? His streak continues because he didn't get an official plate appearance. MLB doesn't want someone to lose a hit streak because they didn't get a chance to extend it.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) Jenks is coming into the game. Hopefully on a very short leash.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) Don't worry...he'll be gone soon enough, and LF is a very easy position to find someone good. Just think how crappy it is to be an Astros fan, as they must think he's their version of Mike Sweeney. He's not ignorant...just senile. With the key difference being that Mike Sweeney was actually good.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) Completely agree and Colt McCoy is able to get a TD thanks to it. OSU driving though with the ball on the 29 with 22 seconds left. 14-7 Ohio St. Great drive right before halftime.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) Iowa game is on ABC and its in overtime. TD ALBERT YOUNG and the Xtra point is good, now Iowa needs to play some defense. f***, 1st and goal from the 2 for Cuse. f*** YA, Iowa Stops em, Iowa Stops em...we had 6 plays from them at the 2 and they gained a total 1 yard and did have a pass interference call too. WOW, WHAT A WIN!!!! It was ugly, it wasn't pretty but in the end we found a way to gut through it. That was a hell of a goal line stand by Iowa. And some of the worst play calling ever by Syracuse.
  20. QUOTE(WCSox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) Way to ignore what Pods did prior to the injury last August. He was a major reason that our low-OBP offense scored runs last season. Our offense was bad last year and I'd say that the major reason we scored runs was that we were 4th in the AL in HR.
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) It may have taken Ozzie 135 games to figure it out, but at least he finally figured out having one of the worst hitters on the team leading off is not a good idea. Scott Podsednik= 8th place hitter with no power and a terrible defender who can't throw. Now he just needs to take him out of the lineup completely in favor of Gload/Mackowiak/Sweeney and he will finally have it correct.
  22. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) and is open to the public.... get your ass there greasy! Go straight to Memorial Stadium afterwards. Time to put the tailgating on hold to do some recon for all of us. FWIW, having a scrimmage open to the public in which a recruit plays is an NCAA violation.
