  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) Minny winning out would be the one thing IU fans would hate. IU is an absolute lock at this point.
  2. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) They nominate a movie that glamorizes suicied bombers for an award, but fail to mention Theo Van gogh in the 'who died this year' list, even though he died for his art. Could it be bacause he was killed by a Muslim lunitic? I guess they can't be both heros and killers in the eyes of Hollywood. Did you even see Munich?
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) Boooo Gonzaga wins. I hate them for whatever reason, can't stand them. I hate them because they get a ton of hype that they don't deserve at all and will likely be seeded too high again this year.
  4. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 11:55 PM) I don't know, GW is ranked #6 and #7 right now in the ESPN/AP polls, and if they win their tourney with Pops coming back, they would end up somewhere around 29-1 while creeping up the official NCAA RPI where the moved up to #29 this week from #33. If they sneak into the RPI top 25, it could be an argument they make. No chance whatsoever. They have 2 top 50 wins, both of which were against St. Joes who may not even make the tourney and they have one other good win against Maryland who probably won't make the tourney. They might end up making noise in the tourney but if they get a #1 seed it would be an absolute joke. To be honest I would be surprised if they even get a 2 seed.
  5. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) If Duke takes care of business in the ACC tourney, then I agree, 1 seed no doubt. But if they falter again in the ACC tourney, someone like GW, OSU, or Gonzaga could sneak up and steal the last 1 seed. GW has no chance at all at a 1 seed and I think OSU already is one.
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 07:34 PM) Our resume is almost better then every other bubble team. We got 7 wins against the top 50 by the way kyyle. We're in, there is no doubt in my mind now. Our rpi is right around 35 now, 7 top 50 wins which is just so much more then any of the other bubble teams. Unless the committee just feels like screwing the valley over, we're in. Don't get me wrong, they definitely should get in. But they also have 4 flat out awful losses, and the RPI doesn't take into account the loss to Alaska Anchorage but the tourney committee will. Southern had no good non conference wins, and only has one good road win. All those things are factored in. It really depends on how many teams the committee decides to let in from the MVC. If its 4 than Southern very possibly won't get in. If its 5 they are in.
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) I think the Salukis earned at least an At Large bid with that win over Northern Iowa. What a great game. Their resume is less than impressive.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 2, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) Outstanding! It is amazing how perfect the timing is on a lot of those moves. Especially the shot to beat Utah and the swith hand layup against the Lakers.
  9. Watch the commercial and the inspiration side by side:
  10. I love how Patrick and Vitale are ripping on security. As if security can stop hundreds of fans from storming the court.
  11. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) Real good win, here's hoping NW can take care of business in Evanston tomorrow. You guys do realize the game isn't over yet, right?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) How in the f*** wasn't that an intentional foul called on Dee? The funny thing is that Illini fans are freaking out about the refs, and that non-intentional foul was a turning point in this game. Should have been. Although I've always thought that rule is one of the dumber rules in sports.
  13. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) That block on pruitt is a HUGE turning point What block? You mean the huge foul where Pruitt got in the head that wasn't called?
  14. Basketball Point Guard Chicago Bulls Typically the most money in basketball and I have always enjoyed playing it the most.
  15. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) Illinois has a terrible student section, IMO. They actually have people who try and stop cheers to keep the Krush's reputation as classy. So basically, all their cheers are boring and unoriginal. It's a student section for christ sake. Let them do what they want. The Big 10 doesn't allow teams to single out opposing players for chants. Limits some of the chants you can do. This is the Pierre Pierce/Steve Alford rule.
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) She is very good looking, I'd be making moves too if I was him. She is cute. Too bad she has no body at all.
  17. FINALS. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan vs. A Day In The Life - The Beatles
  18. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) It's all over the illinois. board. They are saying Rose is pissed at Bruce Almighty for some reason. Well it was, but the mods took it off, the illini are now discussing it at phog.net You posted Gordon originally. And if the rumors I have heard are true about Rose's brother, then I don't blame Weber at all for this situation.
  19. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) Rumor has it Gordon is thinking no-go to the Illini after all. hmmmm could Bruce Almighty lose another. Really? From where did you get this bulls***.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) Ah, not to turn this into a pissing contest, but I have close friends who've known Julian since he was a freshman in high school. Julian will go to the NBA as soon as he's a guaranteed lottery pick. He considered jumping straight to the pros out of high school, but the consensus was he wouldn't be a first round pick. I'll be happy to share who I know in a PM if you'd like. BTW, I'd love to see Julian, Rush, and Chalmers stay around next year. They're a terrific trio. I think all players go pro as soon as they are a lottery pick except for very rare exceptions. And why wouldn't you? You could have guaranteed millions and be set for life for playing a game or stay in college, have to go to class, and make nothing. Pretty simple decision.
  21. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Agreed on all points. Big ups to James and Dee tonight. They stepped up like two seniors should. Disagree completely on Dee. He scored but his turnovers were a major factor in allowing Michigan back in the game. He did a poor job in the second half of setting up teammates and his defense was absolutely pathetic tonight.
  22. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) How is that a foul? Should have been a jump. f***ing brutal. Brutal, he anticipated a foul. Refs suck
  23. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) How about you f***ing stop standing around and watching Dee? How about Dee initiates the offense or attacks? Or how about Dee wakes up and plays some defense?
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) Going up against the other teams big man and getting the ball spiked in your face, as well as fouling a poor 3 pt shooter, isn't exactly playing smart basketball. BTW, Marcus Williams has 15 pts, 9 assists, and 6 rebs.....AT THE HALF! You mean the play Graham Brown hammered him with the body. That is a foul in any other game I have ever watched. Fouling Smith was stupid but it happens. I think Chester will be a good player, I do think people either seem to be to high on him or to low on him. I've seen comparisons to Dee as a freshman and I have seen comparisons to Jerrance Howard when the truth lies somewhere in between.
