  1. U.S. vs. Canada Women's curling match is on live at 2 A.M. central time for those who will be up in 4 hours.
  2. Gold and silver in the halfpipe almost swept it if Clark wouldn't have fallen.
  3. U.S. women currently top 3 of the halfpipe final. Hopefully they are able to hold on for the sweep.
  4. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) ESPN 1000 ruined it for me, at least they could warn us on the update before they start blurting everything out. That pisses me off. Thats why I avoid radio and websites during the Olympics and I don't watch Sportcenter either. It is a lot more fun to watch not knowing what will happen.
  5. U.S. skier Lindsey Kildow who crashed in a training run today is still expected to ski in the downhill on Wednesday.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) Speed skating should be good, womens snowboarding decent. The only thing I'm not a fan of is ice skating. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of figure skating either and that will probably be featured tonight unfortunately.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) Soooo what's on tonight? Pairs free skate, snowboarding women's halfpipe and men's speed skating (500 M Long Track I believe) and I'm sure there is probably something else. Hard to navigate NBC's website without seeing spoilers so I didn't look that closely.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 02:26 AM) I turned it on cause...well nothing else is on. Can you explain this to me 99?? Obviously you want to get it somewhere in the target but how do the points work, how many shots(if that's what they're called) and is there are a certain amount of points that wins or is it just the amount of points after a certain amount of shots? Sorry I'm not posting till now but I didn't have my computer on while I was watchng the match. I'm no expert at all but here are the basics. Basically each team gets 8 alternating shots per round. The objective is to be closest to the center of the target. For every stone that you get closest to the center of the target you get a point. So for instance, if the U.S. has two stones closer to the center of the target than any of the Norweigan stones they would get two points. There are 10 rounds (called ends) with 8 stones per end. The team with the highest total after the 10 ends wins the match. Obviously there is a lot of strategy in setting up shots to score multiple points each rounds and thats what is interesting about the game. One mistake and a team opens the door for the other to score big points.
  9. U.S. vs. Norway Curling match on now for anyone still up. Edit: On USA
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) I'm planning on it. We'll see if my eyes stay open though, I'm rather tired I love curling. Its one of the better olympic sports in my opinion. I'm looking forward to it, and since I'm usually up till 2 anyways I figure I can stay up the extra hour or so.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) I was thinking about it, but with school and all, probably wouldn't be too smart. Weak
  12. Shaun White wins the Gold and Danny Kass the silver in the Men's Halfpipe so at least one thing went well for the U.S. team today. We are a couple medals behind where we should be at this point so hopefully we can pick those back up somewhere else. Anyone else going to stay up to watch the U.S. mens curling match live at 2 A.M.?
  13. No medal for Ohno in the 1500M as he doesn't qualify for the final. Not a good day for the U.S. team. Looks like we are probably 2 or 3 medals from where a lot of people thought we were be pending the outcome of snowboarding.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) ESPN.com shouldn't have spoilers on the front page I don't go to ESPN.com during the Olympics.
  15. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) f***in A. The USA is laying an egg... at least we are going to get all 3 medlas in Snowboarding (even though its a gay sport) and Ohno is going to win all the Speed Skating medals. I wouldn't count on any short track medals. Too much can go wrong in that sport, look at what happened in those races in Salt Lake with disqualifications. He has a great chance though.
  16. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) Miller and Raal are using new skis. Seems like a pretty risky move to make in the Olympic games.
  17. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) YES DOWNHILL The alpine skiing events are so fun to watch. I still find it amazing that they are able to keep their balance at such high speeds.
  18. All 4 American competitors are in the snowboarding halfpipe final.
  19. Section 1. White Room - Cream vs. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan vs. Sympathy for the Devil - The Rolling Stones All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix vs. When the Levee Breaks- Led Zeppelin Section 2. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen vs. Baba O'Reilly - The Who Pinball Wizard - The Who vs. Street Fighting Man - The Rolling Stones A Day in the Life - The Beatles vs. Dream On - Aerosmith
  20. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) Bode and Ohno time! Ohno got through his first heat with ease.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Don't they lose Dials, Sullinger, Foster, and Sylvester? Ohio St. will be good next year, but there's other teams out there that potentially will have better talent. Yeah, all of the above are seniors. They basically only return Lewis and Butler who are both good players but that really isn't a whole lot.
  22. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Made a nice run with Dials out, now he's back and got 4 quick points....damn...oh well. Bruce pulled Chet for some reason. Really dumb move on his part, Rich McBride sucks today and has no business being in the game.
  23. I'm sure most people know this already but Chad Hedrick one America's 1st medal of the Olympics by winning the Men's 5000M in Long Track Speed Skating. He wins his best event and that probably takes some of the pressure off of him in the other 4 events he is skating.
