  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) Iowa is doing one hell of a job trying to blow this game. Big FTs coming up for Killingsworth
  2. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) That's insane... Before the Iowa game, I thought they were playing their best basketball of the decade. They got blown out, and haven't been the same since. Injuries have had a lot to do with that
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) Man, just sitting here watching Indiana, can't help but feel like this team is on the verge of just giving up on the whole bloody season. They really need a spark somewhere. They really don't look like the same team from earlier this year. No intensity at all on defense, no ball movement on offense, and Killingsworth isn't playing with any life.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) If he is a senior in HS, he has to wait another year for the NBA. He is already one year removed from high school as he was attending a prep school this year so he can go to the NBA if he wants.
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) I hate the tape delay nonsense to be honest, but I'll do my best to watch as much as I can without hearing the spoiler results. Speaking of which if you are going to put a spoiler on this thread please give people a warning out of common courtesy.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) I don't pay much attention to the Olympics and even when I do, it's mostly the Summer games. I figured we just dominated the Winter games, too, since we dominate the Summer ones. Who's the all-time medal leader for the Winter games, then? Germany has the most medals if you combine the medal totals of West Germany, East Germany, and Germany. The most gold medals goes to Russia/USSR/Unified Team. The third most medals is Norway and the U.S. is fourth in medals all time at the winter olympics.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) Yeah without researching it, I think the last time we didn't win the medal count in the summer games was 1980 when we boycotted. Actually in 1992 we lost to the Unified Team but they were made up of like 12 countries and in 1988 we finished 3rd behind the USSR and East Germany.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) So, is it the Summer Olympics that they always win? Yes, we have 2219 medals all time in the Summer Olympics and the next closest is Russia/USSR/Unified Team with a combined 1381 medals.
  9. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) yeah didnt they beat their personal best record in 2002, and I think even with that U.S. was 3rd or 4th in the medal count. Who are some of the favorites to look for, besides the usual hype ie Bode Miller, Apollo Ohno, Sasha Cohen ect? There are a lot of medal contenders for America as some people think we will break our 2002 record this year. NBC has a rundown on all the events here: NBC Olympics and who America's medal hopefuls are. Just click on either athletes or events to find out more.
  10. Go U.S. I absolutely love the Olympics. Easily one of my favorite sporting events. Opening Ceremony today and then the events kick off tomorrow. Can't wait.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 01:47 AM) Haven't they won about 8 straight. Ron Artest has really given them some momentum, and they've got Bonzi Wells to come back. I think they'll end up making the playoffs when it's all said and done. They have won 3 in a row and 4 out of their last 5 but they are only 5-5 in their last 10 games.

  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Pargo used to be a funny little end of the bench guy. Now he plays and I hate him. Timo syndrome
  14. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Fair enough, but he was an integral part of them getting the 3rd best record in the East. It wasn't a 7-8 seed one-and-done. You just can't blame him for this year. It was almost expected when you consider there is no real post presence. I'm not blaming him for anything.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) Playoffs last year? Sorry, I've never felt making the playoffs in the NBA is really that great of an accomplishment. For recent Bulls teams it is and I'll give him some credit for that, but a 1st round exit and right back to mediocrity isn't really leading a team somewhere IMO. Hinrich was the right pick at that slot though and I'm not going to argue otherwise.
  16. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) darko, ford, diaw, or west would not have come in and helped the Bulls like Kirk did...Who will be better in the long run remains to be seen... Didn't say they would have. But its not like Hinrich has led the Bulls anywhere although that obviously isn't his fault.
  17. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Or because he plays 42 minutes a game shoots 48%... shoots a similar percentage on threes... seven rebounds per game... 6.5 assists per game ( same as hinrich)... he turns it over once more per game but he has the ball in his hands nearly twice per game because of their offense... third in the league per points... 1.63 steals + .88 blocks per game. The dude has an all around game. His defense is not top notch but that is because he gets lazy defensively at times because he goes so hard on the offensive side of the floor. To say he doesn't play defense is moronic... but you are content with arguably the worst player out of the first seven picks. Lebron's defense could be absolutely amazing if he ever commits to it. And he already is one of the best offensive and all around players in the league. Anyone who doesn't see that is crazy. But you can't make an argument that Hinrich is the worst of the 7 picks as Darko as played about 3 minutes in his career so far. But obviously Hinrich is not at the level of Carmelo, LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and Kaman is looking great lately. Probably would but Hinrich 6th, and there are players taken behind him who are either at his level or above him in TJ Ford, Boris Diaw, and David West. Out of all the years to not have a top 5 draft choice.
  18. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) You only see LeBron on the tube, b/c he makes highlight-reel plays. People want to see power jams, alley-oops, these kind of things. I'm glad we have Hinrich ^^^Is he being serious?
  19. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=169&p=9&cfg=bb&c=8&yr=2006 That's a list of the commits. The prospects at this point are Leon Freeman and Ramar Smith, both 6-4 SG from Michigan, though they both have grade issues. Patrick Beverley 6-2 SG from Marshall in Chicago (though he and his coach have been upset with Weber for not making an offer yet). That's just off the top of my head. Weber could still bank the scholarship and use it next year, and I have no idea if Weber is recruiting an Junior College guys (I think that recruitment usually picks up in April though I could be wrong about that). Hope that helps. Patrick Beverley is not an option and I for one am glad about that.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) What did I miss? .5 seconds were on the clock and Gonzaga had the ball. They inbound the ball but the clock never starts and to make matters worse, St. Mary's got called for a foul on what was a clean block and Gonzaga won the game at the FT line. What pisses me off even more is that the ref who made the call was standing 25 feet away from the play.
  21. Bulls***. I'm so sick of games tainted by bad officiating. There is an epidemic of this lately.
