  1. QUOTE(56789 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) Still, i doubt he would deny it if he knew it was there. He probably has a s*** load of things to deal with and he never heard about it, or forgot about it. How do you forget about 15,000+ people? How do you not know about 15,000+ people when it is all over the news when it is your job to know? Incompetence
  2. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) 3) Scott Podsednik is not very good. Now believe me, I love Pods, but he really has not been as good as we all made him out to be. He has one tool: speed. His speed is VERY VERY GOOD, but not great. No he hasn't, but his speed is almost as good as it comes when he is healthy.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) How's this for a prediction: The 2007 White Sox team is the year we're building towards, and this year happened as a fluke. While we've had a great season so far, I don't think this team has enough to win the World Series. However, our team in 2007 should give us another great chance at competing for the World Series. I tend to agree with this, but that is the exact same thing that was said during the 2000 season.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) Because he's been able to play every single infield position. get Blum. And aside from yesterday very well I might add.
  5. Well, if this article is correct, hitting a grand slam in your first at bat hadn't happened since 1898. LINK While I was trying to find this I saw that Dustin Hermanson hit a HR in his first major league at bat. Edit: THey just mentioned that it was 107 years since this was last done so the article I found was correct.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) Super prospect on the Marlins just hit a grand slam in his first career AB. I saw that. Not a bad way to start a career
  7. I don't think this has been posted, but Finley decided to play for SA next year. San Antonio is going to be absolutely loaded next year. ESPN
  8. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Good pitching still defeats good hitting, right? Just wan't to be sure of that old addage. Maybe it should be good pitching defeats mediocre hitting, but struggles against good hitting. Good pitching will often beat good hitting but great pitching will almost always beat great hitting.
  9. Good at bat by Timo, and Hawk, Jon had just as much to do with this deficit as the defense did if not more.
  10. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) well we'll have to agree to disagree then He is possibly the greatest leadoff man ever, but are you trying to tell me that Henderson is better than Ruth, Bonds, Williams, Mays, etc.
  11. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) Rickey Henderson is the greatest baseball player ever to live (in my unpopular opinion) so he's not really someone to judge Pods off of. Maybe Vince Coleman or Juan Pierre. Its unpopular because it is completely wrong.
  12. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) Alisha Cuthbert would play WITH me.... I believe you mean Elisha
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Wow. Just wow. Try looking at Buehrle's game log from this year.
  14. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) The Illini broke my heart this year but I will always have the best memories from the WHOLE season. All I have to do is think of Arizona and I just smile. Exactly, losing the NC game sucked but when I think back on the season I think of Arizona, the winning streak, Wake Forest, etc. Those memories are all going to be with me forever. I will be somewhat disappointed with anything short of a World Series but I'm just enjoying the ride, however not making the playoffs would be pathetic.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) You want to know where Timo might get a lot of playing time when Pods gets back? CF against righties. Even if Rowand isn't hitting at all against righties I'd rather see him in CF then Timo. Timo has zero range and is one of the worst CF I've ever seen.
  16. Hermanson should not be pitching right now. But except for the bullpen the team looked great tonight.
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Uribe hits a Ford like double just short of Ford. I was shocked he didn't make that catch.
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) Freddy doesn't deserve to lose. Stupid Twinkies. More like stupid pathetic offense that can't score a run off a 14 year old little league pitcher right now.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) I'd love to be a casual fan just watching this game. What I want to know is why in the world were the Twins playing Pablo so deep? To make it more difficult to get a double, a base hit isn't scoring Blum so they would be more willing to allow that to occur.
  20. QUOTE(TLAK @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) I'm losing track, how many hits has Feddy given up? No one answer this.
  21. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) huggins: resign, or be fired About time that scum bag is going to lose his job.
  22. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) whens he announcing? Apparently not today anymore. There are even a couple reports on Kansas boards saying no decision has been made yet.
  23. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) Illinois is still in the running, per AAU coach. I'd put my money and lots of it on Kansas but this recruitment has had so many twists and turns nothing would surprise me. It's going to be funny if he doesn't get through the clearinghouse and is ineligible to play after all this.
  24. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) why would you say that? they only return 2 starters from last year...... stop drinking the orange kool aid All American PG, All Big 10 C and Brian Randle will be a stud. Illinois very well could be a top 15 team this year. There really are not a whole lot of teams that appear to be head and shoulders above the rest.
