I can't see it. I love Dee and he is a great college player but guys under 6 ft tall who can't consistently get into the lane and finish or create are not exactly in high demand. IMO he needs a year of actually being the man and the full time PG of this team. Right now there is no way he gets picked in the first round. Felton, Paul, Williams, Lucas, Chris Thomas, just to name a few would get picked higher than throw in guys like Gilchrist who could go pro and we should have Dee back next year. -

Illinois up only 6. Augustine just missed 4 straight FTs. This will be a good test to see what this team is made of. -

I find myself cheering for the entire Big 10 this year, well except for Iowa. Its funny what everyone bashing your conference constantly will do. -

And Taliek Brown as well and I never thought I would say that. Good first half for IU though, that team plays hard but they just don't have a whole lot of offensive ability at this time. Side note: I thought Villanueva would step up this year but he doesn't look good at all. In hindsight I'm glad he didn't come to Illinois because we are better off without him. -

:headshake Big 10 goes down 7-2 in the challenge. At least Northwestern and IU played tough tonight though. -

To get to your second contract quicker which is the one that pays the real big money, and why risk having your draft stock go down if you are already a top 10 pick. -

Why is it foolish, as long as you are going to be picked anywhere in the first round I don't see any problem with leaving school early. Thats 3 years guaranteed of making a lot of money and almost every first round pick gets a second contract of some sort even if they don't play that well. College will always be there if you want to go back the NBA might not be, not to mention there is no guarantee that staying in college longer will raise your draft stock. -

Actually rankings mean quite a bit as they usually are pretty accurate in determining NCAA tourney seeding. Plus, if it wasn't for Illinois winning the Big 10 would be the laughing stock of the country. Especially if Virginia and UNC hold on. -

Hands down the dumbest chant in sports. It doesn't make any sense because it is diminishing what your team just did it but everyone does it. -
Well, if I can ever get to work I'm hoping to make it out tonight.
-
As was I, to bad I have a f***ing paper to write now. God damn procrastination. Oh, and Wake was completely owned and our guards>>>>>>>>than Wake's guards tonight.
-
I think Artest was very wrong for charging into the stands but I thought he handled himself pretty well with Ben Wallace, but he would have fought Wallace given the opportunity to do so (i.e. not having teammates and coaches getting between them). That would have been justified though since he was actually the one being attacked.
-
See, I guess I'm just too rational. I'm not going to put myself or others at risk because I'm pissed someone threw a plastic cup at me. If it was something that could actually harm me or its the situation Jermaine O'Neal encountered as he was walking through the tunnel, thats a different situation.
-
Not if its a plastic cup with beer. I'm pretty calm under most circumstances and have been hit with a beer before by some drunk guy and I basically did just walk away. If I was drunk I might not have reacted quite differently though. In the case of a professional athlete who is making millions of dollars you just can't act that way though. You point the guy out to security have them deal with it and thats the end of it. Now if I am getting pelted as the Pacers were once the situation got out of hand, then I probably do act as Artest did.
-
I have no idea who threw it, but I know one thing, if I throw something at a crazey motherf***er like Ron Artest I'm going to act like I didn't do anything.
-
I'm not defending the fans though. They were the worst culprits in this whole thing but saying that Ron Artest was in the right by going and attacking the guy is ludicrous.
-
Think what you want, but some people actually have control over themselves and don't let themselves get sucked into fights. If Ron Artest is physically harmed or is in danger, fine beat the s*** out of the guy, but you have a beer thrown at you and you feel the need to run through the stands to find a guy you think might have done it and assault him, thats clearly crossing the line.
-
That guy wasn't even close to Artest.
-
Well neither did Artest obviously cause he went after the wrong guy.
-
I might push you, but thats about it. And besides, Ron Artest going after and assaulting an innocent fan kind of defeats the purpose of your analogy anyway. And if you think this is human nature, how come this doesn't happen everytime players have stuff thrown at them, if they did there would be incidents like this all the time.
-
Tell you to get the f*** away from me. I don't immediately go charging after you to beat the s*** out of you.
